I'm sorry but i just ran the same test with flash on ubuntu 10.10 with all recent updates and 1080p works just fine so does 720p etc. i watched the same video and all worked fine...
Please can you re do this video after installing 10.10 with all updates and post the results as this could misleading to both ubuntu fans who would like to get this machine such as me and people are are looking for reviews on flash in ubuntu etc.. many thanks
Flash 10.1 is *NOT* accelerated under Linux period. With 10.2, Adobe utilizes the VDPAU API with their 'Stage Video' API to hardware accelerate playback. Try 10.2 and try again.
Its still better than my craptop ;l

Too bad about those stupid bugs that you can see Youtube through any black...
You have to disable hardware acceleration to stop it so no more HD...

Fail.
Its the Flash 10.2 and only the 32bit version, which will accelerate the video.
So. Read the manual and instructions on Ubuntu forums and try again.
