  • Simba on Broadway =P

  • Just saw Nick Jonas' 2nd performance as J Pierrepont Finch on Broadway. I went in not expecting much. (We all saw Les Mis, Nick.) But woah! He impressed me! I will definitely see the show again. :D

  • AHHH I love it!!!! This was better vocally than the 2011 revival but the 2011 choreography is better than this, in my opinion. I love the scatting!!!!!

  • Haha, Wally says "Broderhood of Man!"

  • I get comparing the versions, Daniel's and Matthew's I mean, because they're doing the same thing. But why does one have to be better than another? Can't we all just agree that Matthew and Daniel are both really good?!

  • @AegeeChan And that Morse is better than both of them?

  • @VRNProductions definitely agree! Robert Morse tops them all!

  • @VRNProductions Morse was pretty awesome. And who could forget the awesomeness that is Charles Nelson Reilly as Bud Frump?!

  • I want a performance of the 2011 Revival cast... just with Lillias White magically appearing.

  • That's a lot of men.

  • This version is way to 90's for me

  • You go simba! you're bettter than harry potter any day of the week!!!!

  • So I just got cast as Miss Jones in my high school production. Just cus I'm black doees NOT mean i can sing like this lady....

  • @jujuishawesome Give it your best shot! I'm sure you will be awesome!!!!

    BTW - this version [orchestration and arrangement, etc.] is NOT included in your license to perform the show. You'll be doing the original "crusty" version from 1960 that was sung by a rather overbearing white woman. ;-}}}

Have lots of fun performing such a great show.

  • @rodanvideo hahahah that makes me feel better thanks :)

  • I'm not sure which is better :D Both versions are fantastic and different in their own original way.

  • Just skip right to 2:15.

  • Lillias White for the win!

  • I can't stand him as an actor. Mathew is just so wooden in all his performances. But, damn! That voice is intoxicating :)

  • I have never seen a youtube video that has made me so happy in my whole life

  • I like both versions. Daniel Radcliffes is way more dance crazy. But this one has better vocals hard to say which one is better but I like this one just a little more because of the soul secretary

  • @Couyon45 i think the scat singing made it better

  • I've listened to and watched both...well as much as I can stand of Daniel Radcliffe's version, and I I still prefer the 1961 recording...Then Mr. Broderick's. Daniel just doesn't sound as if he fits the role as vocally as one would hope. And he sounds like he's trying to redo Robert Morse's interpretation but he just isn't that good. Maybe in a few years we will see something spectacular from Daniel Radcliffe.

  • lillias white was just divine :)

  • i

    love you

    matthew broderick/this cast

    and

    will always love you/this version

    better than daniel radcliffe's.

    sorry, harry.

  • i used to have the biggest crush on matthew broderick

  • I like the current choreography better :/

  • Morse remains my favorite Finch but Lillias White makes this the best "Brotherhood of Man" so far! Wow!

  • Outstanding this is my favorite version of this by FAR

  • I want the soundtrack to this just for Lillias White's part of this song.

  • @klausweasley and the way you would be let into lillias whites dressing room is to clean it

  • Is megan mullally in this?

  • this sucks

  • @ceh2595 keep your negative comments 2 urself.

  • @Broadwaypuppet o shutup

  • I prefer the scatting over the wailing in the revival.

  • @P1NK135 SO wat? XD

  • THE DANCING IMPROVE IN THE REVIVAL

  • The dancing definitely improved in the revival.

  • @reevesdamn which one? this one, or the dan radcliffe one?

  • I love dan radcliffe.. but this woman that sang was MUCH better than the old lady..

  • @dustymew Yah, lillias White Rocks!

  • This seems to have more to do with the show -- Dan'l Radcliffe and all are very good, but it seems like almost too much after this...

  • I think if we had a performance that combined Daniel Radcliffe with Lillias White, everyone would become high from ultimate awesomeness..

  • WOW. She is SO much better than the woman that sang with the Radcliff production on the Tony show this year. I saw Lillias White in Dreamgirls and The Life but hadn't seen this. She's so good.

  • wow i like this musical i havnt seen it i didnt even know of it, daniel radcliffe did well too both him a matthew are good, im gunna try and see this somwhen

  • Lillias White, the best Jonesy- EVER!!!!!!!!

  • Although I like Radcliffe's performance, the newest revival cannot top this.

  • yah Daniel Radcliffe OWN's this play now!! its amazing

  • I like Matthew Broderick, but I must admit, I enjoyed Daniel Radcliffe's performance of this song at the 2011 Tony's MUCH, MUCH better!

  • @Shelby596 I Totally Agree.

  • he should do a new movie

  • Lillias Rocks! I've seen her live and she rocks!!

  • go a-HEAD, miss lillias!

  • I did the show and sang Lilias White's role as Miss Jones; she was honestly my inspiration to play Ms. Jones to the best of my ability. She gave the song the "soul" it needed. <3 <3 Love love love this version

  • i like this miss jones a lot better than the one i saw at the show :D

  • @paperfl0wers Yah lillias white rocks! She's the Pearl Bailey of today!

  • @Broadwaypuppet she is really good :) but i really did enjoy the production i saw as well

  • 0:14, i love his run across the stage xD

  • WOW..what a RUSH!!! I could only IMAGINE what this was like live !!

  • SO different from the 2011 revival!!!! Love them both!!!

  • Dear God this is SO MUCH BETTER then the newest revival... mostly because of Miss Jones!!

  • Can't wait to be in this show this summer as Miss. Jones! :D

  • I always smile knowing the Tony Awards were held the day after I was born (born June 3, 1995) and I never forget that.

I recently saw the rivival of this on my first trip (and defiantly NOT my last) trip to New York. :) Greatest memory I will ever have

  • awesome!!!

  • omg Matthew Broderick <3

  • Dan's Finch is so much better

  • Ferris Bueller totally owns Harry Potter.

  • @Jaws2891 Seriously?

  • @GuitarPunk95 Yep. Radcliffe sounds like a 12 year old. After seeing both versions live, Broderick just sounded (and performed) better in his role.

  • @Jaws2891 True, but Drew Carry destroys Bueller

  • @Jaws2891 i agree totally!

  • OOOOO Lillias killed it once again! Man that's some talent!!

  • i like the dan Radcliffe version better <3

  • Ellen Harvey is great...but it is true...Frank wanted a jazz feel to this number which the revival lacks. This is the 11 O'clock number and the revival makes it look like its the 11 am number. Here you have purpose and visual to move the story along much more..each character shows their ark well and it shows. This version make me want to get up and dance with them...the current revival does not...wants me to tell them to slow down and breathe. But Daniel and John and the cast are in fine shape.

  • Where else but America could you get such a diverse set of actors to sing and dance so wonderfully? Those who say that Radcliffe has NOTHING on other stars who played this role are being very silly.

  • Comment removed

  • daniel radcliffe has nothing on broderick!!!

  • @romyism well both of them have nothing on MORSE!

  • That's unrealistic! The musical is set in the '60s and a black woman would NEVER be let anywhere near that room except to clean it.

  • @klausweasley Which is exactly what Frank Loesser was told when he wrote this song and said "I want Miss Jones to be played by a black woman." And in the 90s, when we were able to look past that, the producers of the revival honored Loesser's original intent.

  • @klausweasley Unrealistic? So let's see - your imagination can't handle a black woman in that room in the sixties...hmmm. Do you also have a hard time with the concept of people suddenly bursting into song? Does the set look real to you?

    Tired ass.

  • @TruthSerum101 Well said!

  • I just saw the current revival with Daniel Radcliffe. Excellent production--Ellen Harvey plays the Lillias White role & she's terrific!

  • Dan Radcliffe absolutely kiilllsss this! It really is amazing what he has done with the character..only saw a preview but i definitely hope to be going again over the summer(:

  • daniel radcliffe did amazing at this..it was incredibly surprising. loved it<3

  • this is my favorite song in the show. they did such a great job :)

  • Really cool !! Especially Mrs. White !! Can't wait to see Dan Radcliffe singing this !!!

  • @MissDelpeche I saw Dan do it this weekend. It was incredible. His dancing blew me away.

  • @froofiedadawg Really ?! I'm probably going in july,, really can't wait !!! Ehmmm:$ ... is iot true that he did that Tom Cruise thing on Oprah in the show ?! :$

  • @MissDelpeche Haha yes, he did!

  • @froofiedadawg OMgg,,,i'm like going mad here :$:D

  • @MissDelpeche awww. well, there isn't a video yet, but somebody posted the audio of Dan singing a couple of the songs. :-) he's almost unrecognizable when he is singing with an american accent.

  • @froofiedadawg I know ! I believe in you is already here on youtube,, I'm listening to it now.. I know ! He's American voice is great .

  • By far the best show stopping number of any show that I have ever seen. Frank Loesser hit a homerun here.

  • I adore this number - one of the best finales ever on Broadway in recent years. I'd sneak into the Martin Beck Theatre just to see this song on occasion.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW AND THIS NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont have a reason why 5 people disliked this..

  • check out bad crack brotherhood of man

    that is hilarious

  • Robert Morse: Vintage Finch. Matthew Broderick: Modern Finch. Daniel Radcliffe: doesn't make much sense in a musical comedy, but I wish him the best of luck.

  • hot damn that was good!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Finch, you wily SOB

  • he ain't no Bobby Morse.

  • Lilias White is wonderful in this! Everything came together in this: arrangement, voice, and the staging/dancing--and everyone was having a great time putting his/her best into the number.

  • hahaha... 4 people accidentally push the dislike button!!!

  • THAT WAS TIGHT!!!

  • So awesome, love that number and Lilas? is it? MAKES the number

  • Lillias White = Goddess <3 stunnin' vocals :P x

  • I mean, the song basically loses you...and then she starts singing. Amazing!

  • My lord when Lillias sings it just floors me. It gets me EVERY time!

  • I LOVED this performance when I first saw it and so glad that it is on here. I didn't know who Lillias White was at the time but I obviously do now all these years later. Thanks for posting/sharing.

  • Lillias White is a Beast!!!

  • we just did this show at my high school and it was so much fun. this is the best song in the show.

  • can i just say that matthew broderick is absolutely adorable in the beginning especially when he sorta frolics across the stage at 1:17-1:20. And when he attempts to riff like the unreal lillias white. OH, and i will say it again, LILLIAS WHITE IS FIERCE.

  • I think this version is pretty bad too. A great play dumbs itself down to the level of American Idol. In the original play, this song was written as a satire, sung by an amoral guy to manipulate his way to the top of a company. That's the message of the play, that a corporation is the opposite of the brotherhood of man. There's nothing fair about it, and women/minorities are still not treated equally in business. In this version, it's like they don't know what the play is about.

  • @variegatus

You make an excellent point, of course the secretary sang int he original version too, so you seem to be upset that in this instance they had a black woman singing, so maybe you need to investigate your motives. Also Lillias White is pretty stunning here in terms of that other great broadway tradition, the 11 O'Clock show stopper.

  • @FoggyRoad81 True, the secretary did sing in the movie, but only at the end, and she didn't take the spotlight like the sec'y does.

  • @variegatus this song is not satire its simply finch trying to keep his job by saying that everyone is brothers so he should be over-trying.

  • i like the movie version way better

  • @Mryearbook123 Me, too. This seems to be trying too hard. And I'm sorry,

but Matthew B. is light years behind Robert Morse. Light years.

  • I liked the Drew Carie version better.

  • Lillias White Is A BEAST!

She Gave The Song The Extra Pop It Needed.

    I LOVE Her.

  • So glad Ferris Bueller didn't take the Day Off here!

  • FLAW.LESS.

  • She is performing for only $25.00 at the Iridium on Feb 14th!!!

  • To anyone who is ignorant to the brillant artistry of Lillias White please take this as evidence. She is a goddess whom mere mortals cannot critique, we must instead feel honored to but blessed with her immense talent.

  • i just love the part when Miss Jones starts singing. When we did this for the school musical that was my favourite part.

  • Don't miss Lillias in the current Broadway hit FELA! As usual, she's spectacular. The entire show is great.

  • Lillias! YOU ROCK!!!!!

  • Wowsie!

  • so much better than the movie version

  • I'm obsessed with the way Matthew sings "benevolent" (0:48). Also, Lilias slays me with absolutely everything she sings. As much as I love Robert Morse and the original production, etc., I have a definite preference for this revival in all aspects. Especially with all the changes they made to this song!

  • I've seen Matthew Broderick on stage a couple of times. He's just so damn light on his feet. Watch him run across the stage at 1:16 . It's like he never touches the floor. I think his strength lies in stage work and it's always great to see him there.

  • What's the name of the woman playing Miss Jones?

  • Lillias White

  • WOMPER BABY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Small part but very important (just like the majority of men's penises)

  • heyy not every guyys is small :p

  • I was just Finch for my school.

    And I freakin' loved it.

    :)

  • This is amazing!!!!

    But...brudderhood?

  • This song makes me proud to be a man! Quite an anthem!! Thanks for posting!

  • Too right, VERY different from the original staging, but DAMN...that was good!!!!

    Thanks mate!

  • lillias white is fucking amazing!!!!! aaaah

  • i'm playing her....

    miss jones biatch..

  • were doing this play right now at my school...im tackaberry...but i love performing this song its so much fun!

  • I'm Tackaberry too! It is such a great song

  • haha lol i cant wait till i get mine on DVD so i can put it on youtube lol

  • ohh my goshh me too i am too!!

what is he supposed to be.. like my directors telling me to say lines more exciting and im trying but i cant.. i;ve never been ashamed of any show we've done within the 5 years i performed except how to succeed. its hard and its really challenging

  • haha! how cool! and yah so did mine he told me to be like a nerdy type very bright, but i he was never satisified with anytime i was on stage i was always "getting better" but it never satisified him but than again he didnt like me then lol

  • Lillias White is incredible. And I spot Megan Mullally in her little red Rosemary dress!

  • this is AMAZING! and u know what? i just saw lillias in sondheim's "putting it together" at syracuse stage, and met her after. NICEST WOMAN EVER. sooo humble and sweet and everything. and yes, she blew the house DOWN :D soo grateful i got to see and meet her!

  • GOD! That's fantastic!

  • incredible! and to everybody that enjoyed this I recommend Seth Rudetsky's deconstruction video for this song.. It's even more amazing in the recording!

  • My high school did the original version of this...I really wish we would have done the revival remake of this song...we would have gotten to scat!

  • did you play a part in the show?

  • I was Wally Womper...had a blast

  • Four words:

    I LOVE LILLIAS WHITE!!!

  • omg that was sooo awsome! I wanna go see that show now. Plus I love broadway shows. I've seen a few myself.

  • lillias white rocks my world

  • At 2:56 it sounds like a crow cawing

  • WORK IT GIRL.

  • What is the lady name? She is awesome. They all are.

  • Her name is mentioned several times in the comments.. but in case you missed it.. RODANVIDEO wrote a year ago:

"Miss Jones is Lillias White. She is a major talent! Go to the IBDB website, search her name, and read the tons of shows she's starred in!"

  • My school is doing this show soon. Tryouts are tomorrow =) I love this song & the womans voice!

  • She almost showed everyone her vajoobut that is okay because she is lilias white!

  • this is really good but idk much about this. would you say from a critics perspective this was better or worse than the 1961 original???

  • so glad i found this...lillias white was sooo sick in this musical she really stole the show with this number when i saw it!

  • Holy Cow!!!! Ms. White is amazing!!! I love this show so much!!! My school is doing this Musical coming up in just a couple weeks. I'm playing the part of finch, and i love this song!! But i Wish we were doing this revived version of it. the only part of this song i didnt really like was bringing all the girls into it, kinda ruins the point of the song. well, i dunno, maybe not. But regardless, great performance!! Great Great Great!! and Ms. White, again, is Stupendious

  • LOVE THIS SHOW LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! Matthew and Lilias slay me all over! whew, that's wonderful.

  • Our school is performing this this year. I am super excited. Our director, Mr. Stonenburger, is AMAZING. And has amazing plans for the show.

  • I saw the Broadway revival 4 times and loved it. This was the showstopper number for sure!

  • I did this show earlier on in May this Year, Finch is an awesome character to play and Matthew Broderick is perfect for the role!

Definitely my favourite stage show right now! :-]

  • I saw this with my two young sons (original revival cast) - the set was spectacular, story line great, acted well.. This finale number really took the cake. The whole audience was vitalized. My youngest son told me, "that's the best show I've ever seen!!"

  • were doing this show in ohio, and this gave me chills...i wish we were doing the revised version like this, but it will still be kickass

  • I still get chills when I watch this...

  • I am doing this show right now... what a performance!!! can't get enough of it!!!!
