@VoxNeruda I know where you're coming from wanting everything to be cruelty-free, but unfortunately that can't be for multiple reasons.
1) it's easier for people to follow a lifestyle that's AFFORDABLE.
2) "Boycotting products that are 99.9% vegan sends the message to manufacturers that there's no market for this food, which ends up hurting more animals" (PETA org).
3) The point of being vegan/pro-equality is to pave way for change 1 step at a time (i.e. cause before personal sinlessness).
@VoxNeruda My point is, no one is perfect & no one will every be. There will always be wrong in this world...having said that, there is plenty more wrong going on out there than using "uncertified" cocoa powder.
As I said, I know where you're coming from, but I think there are bigger veggies to steam out there & it wouldn't be a bad idea to tackle down the most harmful ones first before we come here & take our anger out on a person who's only helping vegans enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate.
@TakeMyCookieBoss Thank you so much for saying that. I completely see the point of using certified chocolate, but people have to remember that people are at different levels. If I make recipes that with expensive or unattainable ingredients (for myself included) the audience I am trying to reach (non vegan) will just check out.
The bloopers are so cute. My question for your talk time is, do you plan on staying vegan for the rest of your life? And if you ever have children, will you encourage them to go vegan as well?
@WegotsaPlane There are quite a few brands that produce dairy free options. You should check the ingredients list. For example, as TheSweetestVegan has said, Ghirardelli has some vegan friendly chocolate chips. All of them aren't vegan friendly, but at least one of their products is vegan friendly. There are other brands, too. :)
That looks awesome i love a thick creamy hot chocolate with marshmallow or whipped cream SIMPLY DIVINE ...and thanks for talking about "pinning" because the new youtube has really been frustrating me lol at least pinning will make things a lil better WOOOOO
@dreamsofelegance The ingredients in the description is enough to serve two people, so you can judge from their depending on the number of people you want to serve. Adjust the almond milk depending on the thickness you want.
hahahah!why am i even wasting my time chewing!...you're so funny!!!

Doesn't chocolate chips have either milk or some kind of animal product?

@athropods Normally the chocolate chips are with coconut milk. But a simple way to do this is with black chocolate and it's ready! :D

Ty for the info on the pinning thing . I can`t make this or I will be dead by chocolate LOL .
imabee2010 2 months ago
If the point of veganism is to prevent the exploitation of animal-
why are you using uncertified chocolate?
Ivorian cocoa is produced by child slave labour and your precious Hershey is collusive.
