The theme was written by Jerry Fielding, a prolific composer/conductor who later wrote the theme for "HOGAN'S HEROES". The series aired on CBS' Thursday night schedule 50 years ago [8-8:30pm(et)], sponsored by General Foods {Post Cereals}, but "THE DONNA REED SHOW" on ABC was more popular, and Betty went off the air after 30 episodes.

The series was also filmed by Desilu(well-known producers of "I LOVE LUCY", among other programs between 1951, and 1967), and was produced by Hutton's own made vanity company, Hutton Productions. In fact, under her production card, it originally had a message reading, "Audience Reaction....", and however the audience responded to the episode.
