This version of outside the wall just has so much more emotion in it. I think the reason for this is when roger first recorded the wall he wasn't really sure if there was anyone outside the wall at all, but after the album was released and he saw how critically acclaimed it was and recorded this for the movie, he really did mean what he says in this song.

It's a shame all their fans can't understand the message they were trying to send with The Wall. Pink Floyd is one of the best examples of why music is considered art. I just wish this generation (my generation) would be able to churn something out half as good as Floyd. Until then, I'm content with the classics.

My take is that the end symbolizes that kid is the next one to build a wall. In other words, Pink commits suicide from the pressure, society doesn't learn anything, and the kid is the next one to build a wall since he looks like Pink when he was a kid. Greatest album of all time.

I adored Pink Floyd since i was 12 about 18 years ago when my mom's former boyfriend introduced me to them. I saw this movie when i was 13 in 94 and fell in love with it as it was one of the coolest animated movies i've ever seen despite it is half-live action but it blew me away.
