  • turned his smoke system on!

  • Stop putting near miss in the titles!!! ITS NOT!!!

  • What a beautiful sight

  • looks near miss but 747s are just huge and awesome like that

  • I dont care what anyone says - if altimeter is not set right and there is a tcas fault, could you react in time? Scary.

  • Near miss implies they hit you... but almost didn't.

  • Why no TCAS warning!!

  • lol chemtrails on off -,-

  • <3 RVSM

  • You call me a nut because I agreed about the chem trails. So be it but you made you last nasty comment to me.

  • Honk and wave!

  • @knonfil hahahaha, great comment!

  • O fffffffffuuuuuuuuu

lucky son of bitches if you get hit in mid air.

  • Not a near miss, that's a near HIT :)

If they crashed it would be a near miss...

BOOM! - "they nearly missed" :))))

  • @Khazar01 George Carlin fan :)

  • @gpost2800 Hahaha, guilty as charged :)

  • Definitely not a near miss , RVSM standard 1000 foot separation,

  • its normal .. I've seen one passing below the Emirates B777 while coming from Dubai to Lahore ...

  • I hope you guy didn't fly like that while getting your license, hands at the 2 and 10 O’clock position :-)

Before anyone tells me they are on autopilot, don't bother, I already know.

  • @69aussieguy

Lol what country you in For the old hand at the 2 and 10 oclock positions,

many countries have stopped teaching this as it is dangerous and slow

compared to co-ordinated cross-over steering or with modern cars and power steering using one hand (palming) Are both aloud here in Victoria, Australia,

    Specialy in a manual vehicle

During both my test for different licences i had to do a u-turn and i was permited to palm the steering wheel or cross-over.

  • @dabois85 Lol, hey mate, what country do you think I'm from...my username my be a give-a-way :-) Actually in New Zealand at the moment. As for the old 2 and 10 O'clock driving postion, I was never taught that, more something I've seen in American films etc. I sure don't drive like that myself :-)

However, I was raised on a farm where we had a couple of old Bedford dump trucks, when loaded they were about 10 ton and had no power steering. Trying to steer them one handed was not even possible :-)

  • It's called RVSM in the States. 1000 foot separation is normal.

  • pilots are so bored they propogate near misses with prior acknowledgement and such similiar jockyeying as who can land the slowest or use the least fuel.

  • does tower let u know if an airplane is headed towards u? Or is there some sort of way to find out if you arent in a controlled airspace?

  • @henrox555 you have TCAS. though i wonder why it did not go off in this case. im sure i was much further from a dash-8 then this and i could hear his TCAS alarm as he was reporting to tower.

  • RVSM

  • Why he don't touch the Horn?

  • @QeXeQ Beep, Beep.

    Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepp!!!

  • @QeXeQ becuase planes dont have horns?

  • 1,000 fts vertical separation, no warning is coming from TCAS, very safe!

  • For those not in the know: at altitude, oncoming traffic will be either 1,000 feet above or below you; traffic from one side will be 500 feet below, traffic from the other will be 500 above, depending on your own heading. I saw this a lot between Vegas and SeaTac, nothing new. Maybe some real pilots here can explain traffic separation better than I can.

  • I woulda been like, HONK HONK, why you so close to me man, I fly here not you.. HONK HONK

  • oh please! this is not a near miss! Change the misleading title or go read aviation rules!

  • These are not "near misses" Airline pilots are in contact with centers and they advise of any close aircraft and their direction and altitude. A near miss is any aircraft no knowing they are close and have to take sudden action in order to avoid collision.

  • That was amazing!

  • I JUST DONT GET WHY PPLE DISLIKE VIDEO'S LIKE THIS. THAT WAS AMAZING AND DONT WATCH IT IF YOU READ THE TITLE AND YOU DONT LIKE THE TITLE !?!?!??! :/ ! :).

  • for christ sake! its NOT a near MISS, its a near HIT!

a collision is a near MISS! hrmpf!

  • Thats coool!

  • I am getting so fed up with the stupid "near miss" videos. This was a totally normal vertical separation.

  • @ryanhaart but for someone who never heard of a vertical seperation.............that's a near f'kin miss brother!!!

  • @maidenrulz73 yeah, but this vid was taken from the flight deck, so the poster really should know better.

  • @ryanhaart your right......i didnt watch the whole thing 1st time.......

  • @iambenassi 1000ft is the normal minimum? looks very close! thanks for sharing.

  • excuse me shouldnt you be flying a plane

  • @randomchiick1 autopilot....

  • i saw this on the way back from europe the whole time i was like oh shit oh shit lol.

  • lol Near miss?

  • No TCAS advisory (TA)...no near miss.

TCAS does 2 things...first it yells at you that there is "Traffic" (TA)...then (if your Transponder is in mode S) it will give you a RA (resolution advisory)...telling you to Climb, Descend, Reduce Climb/Dsecent, Increase Climb/Descent and a few other advisories...until it gives you a CC...Conflict Cleared.

  • wow that was a fucking cool video

  • Looks Like Good Vertical Separation To Me.

1000FT Is Much Closer Than People Think

  • wow......that was really close. why didnt you dumbasses split s out of it

  • This was not a near miss!! Misleading title!!

  • Title says: "NEAR MISS! 747 over-flys 737! " In the discription it says: "(it wasnt a near miss. the title was written to grab your attention) Enjoy!"

So here we have another pathetic person who thinks: "How do I get people to watch my video? Ah, I have a brilliant idea. I lie to them by using a fake title which wakes interest. Yeah, that's my way. And then people will like me for that."

Wrong, stupid. A lot of people will dislike you for that, like me. You are such a X(?-!|

  • @FakeHater1001 Define near.

  • Thats not an airmiss...they are just flying at an RVSM cruise altitude mate !

  • change the title its not a near miss at all

  • i hate when ppl say "near miss" when its an everyday thing

  • Clearly nobody reads the description box -- he knows it isn't a near miss!

Don't forget your glasses on the dashboard.

  • thats cool!

  • air traffic contol give 500ft difference i no cuz i was an air traffic controler

  • People were probably on the ground looking up screaming.

  • Yeah thanks argentio... Yes i do, Id normally sit in the right seat.

  • @iambenassi Dude change the title, not near mis at all

  • Near miss?, do you even know how airspace works?

  • 1000 feet separation, no near miss? This is an every-day situation, nothing "near miss" about that...

  • no tcas warning??

  • not a near miss but a controlled route

  • @joachim2464 that was no were near a near miss air traffic control has them at different altitudes and they ask the pilots from each plane if they have eachother in sight

  • @joachim2464 Very well said! :)

  • READ DESCRIPTION EVERYONE.HE SAID IT WAS NOT A NEAR MISS BUT IT WAS USED TO GRAB OUR ATTENTION.Nice video.Good technique.

  • TCAS Alert!

  • Near miss?

    lol

  • CLEAR OF CONFLICT ! amazing!

  • 0:17s Nicee

  • once again....in a thousand and first time THIS IS NOT A CLOSE CALL, or NEAR MISS OR WHATEVER all dumb and ignorant people tend to think this is....THIS IS A NORMAL SEPARATION between FLIGHT LEVELS....

IF there are problems with separation or course intersection, TCAS alerts pilots immediately...but we hear no sounds like "descend, descend now!" or smthng....

  • @Sunamer1 -- you are 100% correct; this is nothing unusual; standard separation. People are pretty dumb some times.

  • @Sunamer1 correction : you -do- hear a sound if there's a strong risk of collision. it's called the "Resolution Advisory" if both pilot are tcas equiped (and so have mode S transponder) the TCAS system will make one pilot have a "Descend Descend" and the other get a "climb climb" thus minimizing chance of collision.

  • @Esurnir RA's are crap in a congested environment.

  • @Sunamer1 *READ THE FRIKIN DESCRIPTION*

  • @waterattack in order to give you an incentive to think better next time when you type a name for video I voted 'dislike' on video and also flag it as having misleading text. enjoy.

don't like when people lie. really.

  • um that wasnt a near miss it happens everyday all the time they fly about 1000 ft apart it may look close but air traffic control do know what their doing

  • When I worked for UA I saw this in the cockpit on a few occasions. Another UA aircraft would flight either directly below us or above us in the opposite direction. It was very cool the first time I saw it and it never gets old:)

  • Maverick9010, you sir, are a moron.

  • was a chemtrails

  • (hence the bracketed sentence)

  • omg

  • Wow! What an amazing view!
