i hate using hyperspeed. i understand why people would use it but i suck at using it :P

Hyperspeed does not change anythin.. Just the speed of the fret board and the notes come quicker.. Theres no time delay on any notes but because they come down faster to fit to the song the notes have bigger gaps in between them.
