  • If the cellphone fell into water for a couple seconds it won't die, you just need to wipe the water and remove the battery and the little chip card and let it dry on itself.

  • It's all a crapshoot really. It may or may not work. The phone will never be the same. Corrosion will set in and potential shorting and componet malfunctions and failures will happen. Potential fire hazard from excessive current draw when charging and shock hazard. Best to use insurance or get a new phone.

  • I hate my iPhone right now I just wanna kill it -_-

  • Yeahh well my mom put my pants in the whashing mashine (whith my phone in the back pocket) and it was in their for about Thirty minuites.. do you think this is fixible? i took the phone apart and put it over a air vent in my house and its been their for maybe 2 hours and it still doesnt come on? like the screen comes on for like 2 secounds and goes off.. and i know for a fact its not dead.. any help?

  • @xDlaughterDx 2 hours for a completely soaked phone is no where near enough. Water is much harder to evaporate out of enclosed spaces - give it 48 hours or more. Good luck :)

  • that wont be a problem for me im chineese i got bags and bags of rice

  • my fone it's still not working !! i tried putting d phone in box of rice sealing it but it won't work!!!!

  • This may work for phones that had dropped into water, but what about phones that were in the washing machine while it was on? It's a flip phone and the screen is water logged. I've put the phone in the rice. Would it work?

  • i dropped my phone in the toilet and i just got it last night

    please reply

  • I still can't believe this actually works.

Proof: On saturday evening, my sister's Nokia 2700 fell in the water in the bathroom, she came to me for a solution, I told her about this method. Took a bowl, removed the cover, battery and memory & sim card. Put the phone in the bowl. Pour the dry rice into it. Left it overnight. Sunday morning, the phone is good as new. Still can't believe it!

  • my LG GRF500F is touch and has one of those keyboards that slide out with individual letters on it . they call it qwerty keyboard or something LOL ! it's been water damages for like a month now i think . will this still work ? yesterday i looked up tips on google and it told me to soak it in meths because it will make th water slip straight out so i did . but obviously that didn't go so well . will it still work if it's been damaged for like a month and i did that meths thing ? lol hope so :/

  • ahhahah

  • I dove in a pool with it in my pocket today so its in a bag of rice right now

  • It works!! leave it in for more than 48hrs it was submerged for a while, i dropped mine in the toilet for only a few seconds, put it in some rice for 48hrs in a zip lock bag and whala! but ya if it was under for a minute or so id leave it in for a lot longer..

  • @thisissofuctup does the bag need to be sealed?

  • @spreckles3 lmfao yuh jus lucky man !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It didnt work 4 me but I think thats because I was in the pool 4 like 5 hours but its cool lol because I got a new phone.

  • i droped phone in thewater will it work in rice? i dropped it in the water a week ago???

  • I went tubing down a river and brought my cell phone in case of an accident and my phone was in TWO Zip-lock bags to prevent water damage. Two hours later when i took my phone out...it was soaked! The screen buzzed out sent 5 text messages of random letters to people on my contacts and the touch screen wouldn't budge at all. Threw it in a bag of rice for 24 hours and ta-da, its working perfectly! Dont listen to bullshit about water corrorsion, This does work.

  • My phone just took a dip in the swimming pool. It was TOTALLY soaked, and it was on at the time. I've drained it as much as possible, after disconnecting the battery, and it's now sitting in a ziplock bag full of rice. If this phone works after this, it will be a mini-miracle, but it's worth this much effort before biting the bullet and buying a new one.

  • @kabaltwo does it work now??

  • @BikeStand122 - No. When I put in the battery the keypad lit up, but that was it - no boot up, nada. My case was a worst case situation, though - it was a few feet underwater for well over a minute. I bet this method works for other less drastic circumstances because the phone was bone dry - display and all - when I pulled it out of the bag. It's definitely worth a try.

  • @kabaltwo oh ok i will try it

  • im trying it right now, i hope it works because in my case, i connected it to the charger not knowing my friend had submerged it in water, and i saw the welcome screen for a couple seconds before it shut down for good. my friend forgot to clean out the battery, so i didn't realize my phone had been submerged until i opened up the battery to find it soaked... some friend huh

  • @bigojc chill out kiiiid!

  • im hoping this gets the water out from behind my screen... hahaha my phone is fine, i just have water marks behind the screen and the screen is really dim

  • @chicax6 did it fix?

  • @bustyboy123 no cuz then it will gwt all over and it wont suck out water

  • I ran out of rice yesterday

  • would salt work

  • @bustyboy123 - No. The medium needs to absorb the water, and if you completely buried your phone in salt, you'd get it in the cellphone's components, which would ruin your phone.

  • I was in the pool for hours with my phone in my pocket. Im trying the rice trick with my sprint lotus right now. Will this really work? please anwser

  • @TheDrNightmare did it work for you ???
