  • Actually the fastest accelerating vehicle on Earth is a space shuttle at launch, it has basicly 20 Kilotons worth of trust below it. Max speed it can do 15,000 MPH, that means it is the fastest manned vehicle ever built.

  • @NANOFORGE Top speed is not the same as acceleration. The space shuttle reaches a maximum of about 3 g-s.

  • @Oikeroi That is actually true, an F1 car apparanlty has an acceleraton of 6G's. If anything I'd say the fastest accelerating vehicle on Earth would be a fighter jet like a Harrier or the Blackbird, a Sea Harrier can reach 200 mph in 3 seconds. A Shuttle in space could accelerate to mach 5 in the same amount of time due to no friction. The fastest accelerating land vehicle would be a supersonic car. By all mean drag races are quick to accelerate but are only designed to do that in small bursts.

  • @NANOFORGE Your opinions have been incorrectly represented as fact. For example, the space shuttle may not have friction, but it still has mass, and lots of it. It will not accelerate to 5 times the speed of sound in 3 seconds. That's just silly.

  • @auknix in space i am talking about.

  • @Oikeroi it dont matter though 15000 is very fast but you wouldnt notice much movement when in space

  • @NANOFORGE A space shuttle can pull about 3g acceleration, thats including the 1g you get simply from gravity.

  • @NANOFORGE

A top fuel Nitro dragster is the fastest accelerating land vehicle on earth...Period

  • @scott93257

But as far as what you meant, yes I would have to agree

  • @scott93257 Yeah land vehicle but I am talking about the fastest manned vehicle ever.

  • @NANOFORGE

I would have to agree with you 100%

  • @scott93257 If I remember the fastest man made vehicle ever is the New Horizon space probe which is currently moving at 16.2 kilometers per second racing towards Pluto. Thats very fast but there is faster stuff out there, the sun is flying around the core of the galaxy at 220 kilometers per second, imagine the energy needed to do that to something like the sun.

  • @NANOFORGE

ahhh yes...you are speaking my language now...I am so in to Space travel, Universes, Planets, Stars...220 Kilometers per second the sun is going? That is amazing... I think I am amazed most by the sheer size of some stars like the largest known star... VY Canis Majoris... Question...If it were possible to fly around the star at say 15,000 mph. how long would it take to fly completely around? They say the diameter of the star is 2 billion miles...

  • @scott93257 If Canis Majoris was in the centre of our solar system instead of the sun, it's surface would reach as far as the orbit of saturn which is on average 9.5 AU from Earth (9.5 times the distance between thef the sun and Earth or 1.5 Billion miles). It took New Horizons nearly 2 and a half years to reach saturn at 16 kps from Earth, so for NH to do 1 orbit around Canis Majoris would take roughly 4-5 times as long. A space shuttle is almost half as fast as NH aswell.

  • i think it says like 3.99 @ 231 something

    pretty freaking fast

  • wow this is more like 200 mph in 1 sec

  • No ,top fuel are not the fastest.Rocket cars are.See the Vanishing Point RC in Utube

  • @pumarazor they dont technically sount as cars though

  • fastest acceletating land vehicle.....

  • what are these 0-60 mph??

  • probably a bit more than that..

  • he say 3.99
