New visitors often brag about the ledge. Travel and Leisure magazine says this is an excellent effort to bring rebirth to one of the world's most distinguished observatories.

The Skydeck operators were so tempted to bring attention to this addition, they have an official motto for the ledge, DARE TO STAND OUT!

Not to mention admission was recently raised up one dollar to $15.95.

I know that the simple 2-stop elevators start out around &65K and could cost as much as $90K. I've also heard to budget 20K~40K per floor. That said, these elevators must be astronomical in cost, somewhere between 2~4 million dollars each.

I've actually been on faster elevators...there are elevators in the Kansas State Bank & Trust building which go up 18 floors and top out at 10.2m/s. They are Montgomery AC gearless traction elevators made in the 1940s and modernized in the early 1970s. They still use the original traction motors.

Schindler makes great Elevator's i have been on the new ones at my city of Minneapolis Abbott Northwestern Hospital opened thier new Heart Hospital recently they are the same type of Elevator but they have duel chimes one on the outside and one on the inside both on the passenger and Staff Elevators but i don't have videos of them i used to work at Abbott Northwestern for Xerox in the hospital
