this song actual proves that dexter isn't a monster it just shows how dexter was robbed of his normal life and how he has to kill just to act normal so he can pass throught life without any good people dead and thats not far
im not sure in season 5 that dexter doesnt get a little upset after his wifes death - interesting twist to the end of season 4 - older episodes at WatchDexter forfree ^dot ^com
@RasAlGhul4000 Well then you must of realized that in episode 9 that this song plays numerous times, and Dexter even plays it himself off of his real fathers records. It is the song that helps him remember his father. So it actually DOES play a important part of Dexters life. Can you name another song that does? No you can't.
As for the "FUCKING CUNT" comment...you just sound like an idiot.
@RasAlGhul4000 The version used on the show is the original by Creedence Clearwater Revival. When Dexter has a flash back when he sees his bio dad in the morgue and then it cuts to baby Dexter in an open top car and you see a clip of his dads arm driving with the cobweb tattoo on his elbow and please dont use fowl language its unnessecary and makes you look bad.
Also, in both Book 4 and Season 4 you discover that Dexter kills one non-murderer. But he gets a free pass because they were both sick. The guy in the book knew that his partner would try to kill Dex because of his murder and the tv one like to hit women for photos.
I'm not too for sure, but I was told from someone that the first book(i'm reading currently) is almost exactly like the book. but after that the other series TV are not so tied to the books. Dunno for sure though.
Well, I see some big differences between the books, including the first one, and the TV serie. But I haven't yet figured out, what I like better- TV or books.
@bouerboy Yeah, they based the first season off of the first book. Of course, about half-way through the book, the storylines slightly deviate. After the first season and book, it's completely different story arcs.
the first two seasons were amazingg. i didnt really favor the fourth one because it didn;t have much to do with dexter personally (besides the marriage and baby of course), but it did end on a good lead to season 4. im so excited!
I disagree completely. Season 3 was huge for Dexter personally. He learned a lot about friendship and trust (Miguel) among the other things you mentioned.
thats not my point. the season being all about his failed friendship with miguel seemed like a waste, didnt it? each season ends with some sort of message, and the first two made it clear that anybody who knew his secret never survived with it. not lila, his brother, or even his father. so besides that repeated message, there was nothing really new. he got married and will have a baby, but thats it. compare that with the first two seasons
I think you missed the point of the whole season then. The whole thing was that Dexter diverted away from the code that his father instilled into him...He created his own code to that included Miguel. The Miguel 'experiment' was big failure and he learned that no one can ever know what he is--and more importantly, he must stick to the code his father gave him.

You stupid Americans make me laugh. Glorifying a serial killer and all emulating him with dumb comments like "I would cry too if I had feelings". What you think killing is fun? It isn't fun, it's dirty and roar and animalistic. You keep playing pretend killer you dumb yanks - if it makes you happy where's the harm. Tomorrow you will still go work your poxy 9-5 job and struggle to make your rent at the month end.
i guess ur not a fan of the show :) or especially fond of exploring the human psyche. the interresting thing about wathing dexter isn't all the killing, but the amasement you are left with when you see the mind of a killer and reflect over the moral ambiguity of it all. that's my opinion anyways. :)
funny, i heard this song on the radio and immediately thought that it would be good for a dexter music video, so i came to youtube to check if someone had the same idea :D
He does good for the world.

Funny Dexter seems like the kinda guy that would listen to CCR and Rolling Stones. Which is awesome.

The first book and season are similar save for small details:
1. Dexter does NOT kill Biney (I have a mancrush)
2. Brian kills La Guerta
3. Debra KNOWS that Dexter is the HBB
