  • mike ledonne cant believe that curtis fuller starts playin a 16th note run damn i nearly died laughin at the look on his face 4:55

  • Wow, Mike LeDonne killing it. Never heard of him.

  • If I could play one song for the rest of my life...this one might be it.

  • que crackk golsonnnn

  • What a composition, i am pretty sure there its some kind of hipnotic trance inducing poliphony in ther.

  • Totally diggin that piano solo at the end!

  • Notice how this grooves from beat ONE! No BSing (taking a couple measures or until the B section to kinda start grooving, or never grooving at all). You feel it all through your body instantly and you almost wanna dance. THIS is what groove is. Take note...

  • they should have tuned a little before playing,

    especialy mister Buster Williams... hahaha!

  • Yeah!

  • Beautiful tone... Benny !!

  • This is so smooooth. the take on Moanin' is excellent too. such a deep tune.

  • Benny's sound is great

and the solo is great too of course

  • I love the singing version with Blakey bang the drums

  • that tone!

  • Muy buenoooooooooo!!!!

  • GREAT performance by great musicians. I love this kind of jazz.

  • god damn!!!! the tune is already great.....but damn do carl and buster swing!!! DAMN!!!!

  • Curtis Fuller on Trombone

  • This is beautiful live slice of jazz heaven. Benny in the groove, and part 2 is amazing. The bass solo is all over the place, and the drummer stays with him like glue. Buster Williams and Carl Allen.

  • Sounds like knightyaccha loves Kenny G. Pussy.

  • hahahaha

  • nice posting. Golson wrote the tune of course....only wish the audio was better.

  • What's wrong with you?

  • Softer REED? KNIGHTYACCHA Benny sounds great as it is.

  • Benny Golson is a giant. In Hawkins' tradition. A sort of fighting spirit with the instrument. "Knighttyaccha" is right, the reed may be softer.. But may we critisise a giant?

  • oh my god

incredible preformance, by every single one of them.

what a great song, talk about awesome vioce leadings...

anyone know when this was filmed?

  • In France, at the Jazz Festival of Vienne

  • .....wOw! what a performance of this masterwork of contemporary jazz! A landmark, no doubt! What an inspiration! I feel blessed to have it in my ears! Like I was there, woah! Solos like cascading water of sound, in the pocket and out, love it! Thanx for sharing! I'm there, way there!

  • Bravo!!! If Benny Golson had never touched a Sax, he would still be in the Jazz Hall of Fame for his outstanding compositions. What a treat to see Curtis Fuller also.

  • Thanks a lot for posting, Years since Ive heard this. IT was a frequent selection on WKCR etc

  • Benny is in the top five of my favorite sax men, smooth ,powerful.and soulful FROM THE ONE AND ONLY SMOOTH OPERATOR

  • Golson is such an inspired soloist!

  • süper video

  • this is my favorite kinna jazz i think. slow and chill, ambient.

  • he's my neighbor....so cool

  • dude u live next to benny? were do u live?

  • Benny Golson is absolutely wonderful. An amazing lyricist too. He wrote a very eloquent and moving tribute to Sonny Rollins, which we have the honor of presenting to Sonny next week, at Carnegie Hall. CAN'T WAIT!

  • I also love this song. Really beautiful vibe too.

  • This is probably my most favorite jazz song!

  • best!
