Everyone is claiming this and that about HH the Dalai Lama. Yet is there any proof? I have only seen about 3 sources that say the same thing. In one of the articles, a spokesperson for HHtDL said there was no ban. The article then continued that one of the nuns putting together the protest stated there was a ban. Does anyone have any actual, credible sources to point to?

The events surrounding this issue of ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden is only on a worldly level. DS has never spoken out about it. There has been no comment. Because he knows that it is only temporary. He knows that one day the time will come when the practice will be open and widespread.
I don't think the ban is at simple as it seems. I think HHDL and DS have some sort of arrangement for the sake of the dharma. Why? If HHDL takes the blame of Tibet's lack of independence, his teachings may be less effective because he may be seen as an ineffective leader. So DS has taken it on. nostra - i agree. I respect the Dalai Lama but i don't agree with his ban. He is not my guru. My guru is most important and he gave me the precious practice of Dorje Shugden, who has protected me and helped me more than i can every repay. The best i can do is to practice Dharma as well as i can. If we bitch about people who scold us, aren't we the same as them? Let's give them the victory and just focus on our own practice peacefully and send them lots of love!!

yfh920 I've been to China and Tibet ten times so far. And thousands of westerners do actually visit Tibet every year, and many of those who visit Tibet come back to their home countries determined to try to do something to help the Tibetans.

The events surrounding this issue of ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden is only on a worldly level. DS has never spoken out about it. There has been no comment. Because he knows that it is only temporary. He knows that one day the time will come when the practice will be open and widespread.

I don't think the ban is at simple as it seems. I think HHDL and DS have some sort of arrangement for the sake of the dharma. Why? If HHDL takes the blame of Tibet's lack of independence, his teachings may be less effective because he may be seen as an ineffective leader. So DS has taken it on. nostra - i agree. I respect the Dalai Lama but i don't agree with his ban. He is not my guru. My guru is most important and he gave me the precious practice of Dorje Shugden, who has protected me and helped me more than i can every repay. The best i can do is to practice Dharma as well as i can. If we bitch about people who scold us, aren't we the same as them? Let's give them the victory and just focus on our own practice peacefully and send them lots of love!!

No matter how much the Tibetan govt has done rituals, ceremonies and pujas to destroy, bind, or kill Dorje Shugden they are not able to.
It is amazing how many times they have tried. They have called high lamas from all Schools of Buddhism to eradicate Dorje Shugden yet they cannot.
What does that tell you, that they don't have enough power combined together against one Dorje Shugden?
Simple. Dorje Shugden is a Buddha and cannot be destroyed.

It's the music and words of the 'The Age' who have been inspired by much of the Dalai Lama's teachings. 'The guy from Mitsubishi' referred to in the song was quite up for ruining the planet by destroying forests when I heard him in an interview - what a nightmare! Sure, China is not perfect and there are lots of things need to be improved. But I think it should take actions step by step. People know their priorities and the government knows as well. Prosperity and Democracy are not build in one day. For those who support Dalai, If you really care about Tibetan people, come visit Tibet and see the truth with your own eyes. Ordinary Tibetans live a much better life and even have many privileges over Han Chinese in terms of education, health care and housing. China is changing and catching up, but many western people's mind still stay in the cold war.
BTW, Welcome to 2008 Beijing Olympics! You will be amazed.

yfh920 I've been to China and Tibet ten times so far. And thousands of westerners do actually visit Tibet every year, and many of those who visit Tibet come back to their home countries determined to try to do something to help the Tibetans.
Everybody knows people live a hard life in China, too. So maybe those hundreds or thousands of Chinese students and citizens who peacefully spoke out for freedom in 1989 in Tianamen Square should have had a chance to express their wishes.

A slave state is only identified as a slave state when unhappiness is involved. Now Tibet is a portion of the slavery of China. China has performed Ethnocide. They have eliminated Tibetan Buddhism. Should listen to all the teachings Tsem Rinpoche (from Gaden Monastery) gives and think deeply. He has a wonderful three part video speaking about HH the Dalai lama. It is a moving piece. It is on youtube. I love him because he is so non-sectarian and respectful of HH the Dalai lama. What a great combination. He is so devoted to HH.

Accusations against the Tibetan "rebels" of rape, plunder and torture were found to have been deliberately fabricated and in other cases unworthy of belief for this and other reasons.

Dalai Lama is NOT holy! He is a fallacy!
It is highly doubtful that he is the 102th or whatever incarnate of a sacred Buddha king. The old Tibet is a slave/aristocrat system under the rule of previous Lama king. Consistent with the Buddha's belief of re-incarnation, previous Lama would be condemned to hell and re-incarnate to a lower order (like pig, dog cat) since he has put many to slaves. So it is impossible for Lama to re-incarnate as human in his present form as Dalai Lama

Dala Lama only represents the slave master class of old Tibet. China government liberated one million tibetan slaves before 1960. That was a major reason why Dala Lama went to India. Do you know the old tibetan slave masters used slaves skin to make drum in their Lama temple? That was the most brutal slavery in this earth. I suggest you all go to Tibet and have a look of real tibet. Some stupid country gave the noble peace prize to an exiled slave master! That was a big joke!
