  • wow, this is so nostalgic. haven't heard this piece since my childhood!

    great work on the acordion!

  • This tune always sound great on the box. I always liked playing it. I'm getting to the stage now that I'm the only person who has ever heard of it. let alone playing it. Always remember years ago on the TV Prog' Spot that tune'. This was the tune that was played at the end of one of the programmes for the £1000 question. Needless to say the contestant hadn't a clue. Nice to hear someone else playing it.

  • Thanks for the comment. I remember that show; I was yelling the answer at the TV screen ,but the contestant never heard me!

  • Thanks, Jose.

  • could you be persuaded to post At a Georgia Campmeeting?

  • Hello, and thanks for your enquiry.

You would have to explain to me what the above entails, bearing in mind that I live in - and am a native of - the North-East of England. Of course, if I am able to help, I would be very glad to do so.

    My Best Regards,

    Geoff

  • whoops! well Geoff you already know that everybody on this side of the pond thinks the world revolves around them LOL.

The piece was a very popular two-step/march written by Kerry Mills in the same era as Whistler.

  • I see, I didn't realise it was another K. Mills Piece. Now that I do know, I will try and get the music - I am currently working on some Strauss (and contemporaries) Waltes, so why not some Sousa (and contempories) two-step marches. Thanks for replying.

    Best Regards,

    Geoff

  • thanks for the posting, always nice to hear this song and it comes over great on the accordion

  • Many thanks for your feedback. Before researching the history of this piece of music, I thought it was actually written for the accordion. Perhaps that's the measure of a good tune - it sounds good on any instrument.

  • ¡Excellent! (also your commentaries for the composer and the piece) ¡Thank you very much!

  • Thank you very much for you kind comments.

    Best Wishes
