i totally agree on him defending his players...and the article was way out of line, no doubt...but he took it a little to far..as far as going home crying to your mom...and being called fat...like what the hell. I realize he was making a point but at the same time he ended up hurting his player in the process. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with criticizing college athletes. It's totally fair. Especially something as big as college football.

Basically they wrote a story saying that Bobby Reid became the starting QB after threatening to transfer if Donavan Woods, who was in a slump the previous season, remained as the starter. They also suggested that Reid was scared of playing against a D1 defense and willingly gave up the starting role after being chased all night at Georgia. They also claimed to have taken a photo of his mother feeding him chicken wings on the sidelines. The Daily Oklahoman has yet to confirm the photo's existance

I dont care what ESPN or anyone says. If some one wrote that about my son I want a coach like that. He defends his players when some one writes a BS piece and finally gets called out for it. Good for Coach Gundy, I would love for my son to play for him or a guy like him. Screw this reporter who as mentioned before probably hasn't picked up any kind of football, basketball, etc. Only thing she picked up was a hamburger.

I can assume by the reporter's physique that she's probably never really played a sport at a high competitive level. Instead, she just sits her fat ass behind a computer typing up columns trashing athletes that actually work hard for what they do. Sports reporters are cowards and they don't realize that they'd be out of the job if these athletes that they criticize so much stopped showing up to the games.

In a newspaper circulated throughout the state, she ripped a kid by tying together a string of Internet rumors and out-of-context comments made by Reid to her co-workers. She basically called Reid a wimp and justified it by saying "if you believe the rumors and the rumblings."

o please dont celebrate this shit. this was a total over-reaction. pull the editor off to the side and take it up with them in private. besides, if you are playing QB at oklahoma state, you are probably pulling a scholarship. if you are on a free-ride, then you should be fair game to criticism. if anything, gundy didnt help robinson at all. the only impression i got of zach robinson was that he is a crybaby who cant handle criticism.

It doesn't matter. Mike Gundy did the right thing. Jenni Carlson was wrong for putting things like "Reid's mother feeding him chicken" is the reason why Reid was benched.
Find out the "REAL" reason why Reid was benched. Was it Reid can't take a hit? His mechanics were way off, what? Write within the game, not outside of it.
