  • Old siren :)

  • What is dpg

  • @SmashBangCrash diplomatic protection group

  • ya when i was in london i saw this. Pretty kool, the police car i saw was a red 5 series probably 2007 model. Very good choice of car becasue they accelerate quickly and handle around the corners well.

  • This vehicle has a yellow sticker on the rear pannel next to the rear window - this is the label for an ARV.

    Google it if you want.

  • nice to know they got lots of public money to buy BMW's

  • Red Police BMW's in London are Diplomatic Protection Units and, of course, they are armed.

  • no your wrong, the yellow stickers on the windscreen front and back indicate that its an armed vehicle, DPG have red cars but the yellow stickers are universal in london for armed vehicles. the met have the silver 5 series sallons and estaes and vans all with these yellow stickers too

  • not sure if DPU's are armed

    They probably are

  • Yeah, they're armed. They have to be due to the fact that they protect all people involved in running the country like Mr. Brown who my come under fire.

  • true

  • Someone shooting Mr Brown is not a bad thing!

  • Well duh!

  • @321loverdesirohater LOL. It would be better if someone shot Dick griffin!

  • they offer no physical protection to Mr Brown, this is delt with by another department, the only protect the outer perimeter of where he is staying,

  • Love this diplomatic car also the sirens :D

  • in fife it is a bmw x5

  • Armed vehicles are silver BMW estates in the Met (The Getaway Black Monday shows reds as armed police, when they actually are Diplomatic Protection Units DPU's)

  • Correct

  • @taylorbradshaw The DPG, driving Rad Vehicles, are armed....they are not ARVs but they are armed

  • @taylorbradshaw DPG officers are armed and drive red vehicles, they are not ARVs but are armed

  • armed police vehicles are silver, diplomatic cars are red

  • That is 100% true.... although aren't DPG's/DPU's armed also?

  • Yup, all DPG officers carry a glock 17 handgun minimun, such as the DPG solo's, whereas the DPG officers in cars may also carry MP5's too.

ARV's are all silver cars with yellow dots on the corners of the windscreens both front and rear.

  • And one of them left their Glock in Starbucks on the Edgware Road.

  • That Officer was not DPG !

  • Yeah it was. Red car, Marked as armed. Identical siren and lights. BMW. What's the NOT DPG?

  • sorry mate, dont know why that post appears twice. if you scroll down to the next page, you'll see that i was replying to fremlinscants comment, about the dpg officer who left her glock in starbucks, my response being, she wasnt dpg,

  • Ah right I get ya. But none the less she left her glock in starbucks? xD Epically fired undoubtedly.

  • diplomatic protection group (met police) they protect the special royal people

  • ooooo a RED police car

  • Diplomatic Protection Group

CO19 drive the cars with yellow circle's in the back windows

  • That's also an incorrect statement. It's not only CO19 who have the fluorescent yellow stickers on their vehicles. Marked vehicles that carry armed officers have the stickers on the front, back and rear quarter panels of the vehicles...

  • Technically it's not an incorrect statement.

"CO19 are the only division to drive the cars with the yellow circle's" would be.

  • no co19 are the london attachment other arv around the country have yellow stickers

  • You lack a sufficient grasp of the intricacies of the English language to challenge my post. Read the whole thread again please.

  • AlexFox mate, clearly you think this is an english grammar debate. It's not... Technically, however, yes mate you're right, but does anybody actually bloody well care????!

  • Sorry, but I am a self-confessed grammar nazi.

  • DPG not CO....cracking 5 series tho.

we have an X5 on our FSU...very gucci

  • dpg actually

  • fab video

  • precisely...

  • Diplomatic Protection Group actually. Armed Yes. CO19 No...

  • SO19

  • It's CO19 actually - the name was changed when it became part of Central Operations. And infact VPCLX is correct; that car is part of the DPG, not CO19.

  • I know it got changed to CO19 from SO19.... but what did SO stand for?

  • It changed from Specialist Firearms Command (CO19) to its better known/former Specialist Operations designation, SO19

  • the DPG is actually CO16. CO19 are armed response

  • No Mate, DPG are SO6, the former SO19 are still CO19.

    Regards..

  • Sorry my mistake

  • Special operations I think.

  • Special Ops.

  • it changed from special operations to central operations because its in the centre on london

  • No...the centre of London is police by City of London Police. They're called Central Operations because they provide support to the rest of the service.

  • Such ownage
