@720fiflk i think the pronunciation may not be an actual reflection of their english, just that since they promote in korea, they use the korean sounds? it's like how they call themselves "shupah" junior when they're all capable of saying "super." or if i said "camera," the way it's meant to be pronounced, it wouldn't be understood as well as if i'd broken it down the way they do and said "cah-me-ra." at any rate, i've heard worse in kpop, and this video is all done in jest anyway~

Unless it's just a small part of the verse, the pronunciation of English words in Korean songs are usually pronounced with little or no accent. Again, at the Genie line, it's sang like superstar, shining star, shuper star. She may have still added an sh sound, but it was faint and not noticeable. I don't really care though.

@720fiflk i didn't notice any accent with sunny's line in genie o: it's not that koreans won't understand the english, it's that they don't relate to it as much? for example, i speak mandarin chinese and if i mention beijing to an english speaker, i'd say it like they would. if i said it in mandarin, they'd easily understand, but it doesn't fit their conception of the word? when native english speakers like snsd's jessica say something like "charisma" she'd pronounce it the korean way.

I'm not sure what line you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure charisma is held out longer than what it would be than in normal English. Like keuriseumaseu compared to Christmas..This song has them singing it like they would sing it in English. If it's in supposed to be in English and not Konglish(this is actually real ;|), then it should probably be a little better pronounced.
