  • Well we will be ok if people of this world including me stop with the stupidly insane polution!!!! PLEASE

  • i used to live in lakenheath village, england and i tell you the tornado that hit there was only an F-1 but it was amazing but scary i could see it forming and stuff flying in the sky but it only lasted minutes, but i can see why they are dangerous now. I live now in oklahoma, home of the worst tornadoes ever but cross my fingers one has yet to come near by but several have touched down near where i live.

  • its weird to see a tornado hit our country because we hardly ever ever get them if we do there like didi ones rofl

  • cool, nice footage.

  • why is it that everyone is so brave.. i mean i would run away screaming and bawling my eyes out

  • Portsmouth is so isolated for that kind of stuff

  • Was this the tornado in lakenheath suffolk? I was going through there in my car when that went through. WOW what a buzz. Scarey but wicked at the same time lol..didnt realise it was a twister till it said on the news later that evening..

  • @qypsyqueen Do you mean Leavenheath..? There was one right next to my house :/ x

  • A tornado Is Formed By Cold Air And Warm Air,, The Warm Air Goes Up And The Cold AAir Goes Down And Then They Hit each Other And Then It Turns Into A Sort Of Fight If U Get Wut I Mean?

  • in oklahoma we get 120+ tornados a year and may 3rd 1999 we had a tornado that was 2 miles wide and destroyed 10,000 homes and killed 44 people

  • @fordtruckrule is that a good thing? really? and i am glad i do not live in oklahoma?!

  • @fordtruckrule ...in Hertfordshire we had a tornado which was 2 metres wide and destroyed 7 plant pots and damaged someone's roof slightly.

  • Hey guys :)

The UK get's supercell thunderstorms that spawn tornadoes each year, but they are not as powerful and they're not as noticeable either because the anvil of the thunderstorms don't usually go as high up as they do in the US, because of a lack of heat.

The UK gets around 40 - 50 tornadoes and/or funnel clouds a year, but they usually are in rural areas and are quite short lived.

Top rating for an awesome piece of video.

  • @WillieDines1 That's is correct. They are spawned from low topped supercells which are exceptionally rare in this country.

  • @Agui007

    Yes that is correct :)

1 thing that I suspect isn't as well known though, is that in times where parts of the UK get a month's rainfall in a matter of hours, that is also most likely a result of a low topped HP supercell.

HP supercells are well known for being capable of dumping high volumes of rain in a matter of hours as well as large hail, but in the UK their rotation usually isn't powerful enough to produce a tornado because the excess moisture cools off the air too quickly :)

  • Was this tornado near the village of Red Lodge? I saw one that day as a large thunderstorm was developing and managed a photo with my phone camera. I think it was on 7th june and would like to know if it touched the ground.

  • what f rating was this tornado?

  • such an adorable lil twister, wish they were only like that here!

  • @numununahvokne where do you live

  • mate i havent got a clue what to do if a tornodo hit.

i knew we got them in england, but i thought like more in the country side

    thats freeeky

  • Tornados can spawn anywhere on land,

I think it has got something to do with warm air cool air, and thunderstorms,

The amount of times i watch these programms about them and how they develop i keep forgetting the fact on how they develop well its something along those lines.

But if its a strong tornado RUN!!

There only the small ones we get but can still cause damage though

  • a tornado or twister can appear when HOT air and COLD air mix together.

  • @djdean0 its when the cold air and hot air mix together making pressure and also mixing the air unevenly to form a tornado or something like that

  • @djdean0 running is about the WORST thing you can do dumbass

  • i know this sounds like a lil cry for attention or sumin, but trufully i actually prediced a tornado that day, amazing spectacles tornado's!!!

  • I have never realy witnessed a tornado but i would love to see one.

I think its just because of how amazing nature can portray itself.

I can imaging for some of the residents around the area must have been frightend

  • exactly the same here.

i plan to go to tornado ally, in a few years and spend a season just watching them. I think i am amazed by them because even though they are acts if nature, tornado's seem to have a mind of their own.

  • course you did

  • How did you get it down from the BBC website? I've been trying to do that for ages!

  • Good Video!

  • yep on my b day
