The audio-engineered voice of "Gabby" was provided by Pinto Colvig who had voiced Goofy, Practical Pig, Grumpy and Sleepy for Walt Disney. Colvig and Disney had a falling out for a while, but patched things up. Colvig also voiced a Munchkin in WIzard of OZ and remarkably Popeye's rival, Bluto (but only in a couple outings) Also for Fleischer fans, he was Mr. Creepers the snail in "Mr. Bug goes to Town" (AN' DON'T FORGIT I TOLDJA SO!)

Glory was my first heroine, before any Disney princesses. I had my hair cut like hers, I had a "Glory" dress...memories. I can finally do Faithful justice when singing it now! It only took 15 years! I used to watch this movie every day until I was probably 12.

The Fleischer's did release quite a few animated sing alongs in the early to mid thirties, Most of them were IMHO pretty well done, The Fleischers had their finger right on the pulse of popular American music during that time, They did have the Paramount music department which owned quite alot of popular music at the time at their disposal.

I think doing a DVD release like that could conceivably work and it would be nice to expose the Fleischer's work to a new generation who's knowledge of their work is limited to the Popeye cartoons IMHO.
