It's quite easy to do -- once you have your fluid domain set up, just make another box with the same length and width as the domain, but with a height matching how big you want the 'pool' to be relative to the domain size. Then, in object mode, under the fluids control panel select 'fluid' -- if you need help with any of the options take a look at the blender websites documentation on fluid simulation -- a simply google search should suffice. Hope that helps and happy blending!
Ive got blender but i havent figered out how o make ater but how come in every Blender fluid simulation on youtube the fluid seems to be in some sort of box
Could you help me out and tell me what settings you used to make it look like that? It's has pretty realistic movement... I just can't get mine to look quite right...
Ya, i just recently got Blender, and since i seen a few of these vids, i have been wanting to ask where and how you got the update to do water effects...
It's quite simple to do, and the latest version of blender 2.42, doesn't need an "update" to run the water effects, search the net for "Blender fluids tutorial" and you should find some great resources, and if you need any help, feel free to ask me :p
how to you make it clear, mine is grey... -_-

It's called a domain. For fluid simulations, the fluid has to be in a box domain, and in there can be fluid and any obstacles.
tarkata14 4 years ago 2
yes, this is because the fluid is in a set domain which is represented by a box.

Damn good materials and resolution!

Looks like you baked at a very high resolution 0.o
TheBlehBlehBleh 4 years ago
Baked? You can't bake moving objects. The term refers to baking lighting into scene and has nothing to do with simulation.
InTheCity3D 4 years ago
In blender calculation for where the fluid goes and such is referred to as baking... Or that's the button to calculate it anyway :P
