sensational room and video metal jesus. seattle looks like a cool place, classics is one hell of a store too by the look of it. I wonder how many intellivision games he has
I had dragonfire by imagic on the INTV years ago, only have burgertime boxed cartridge at the moment along with Intellivision lives PS2. hunting more down though. super nes and genesis are awesome. have both of those but need more games
These guys don't even sound like they know anything about Retro Collecting...I've heard of Bubble Bobble: Part 2...I've heard of Snatcher before...what games are rare? like CAMMAN!!
@MetalJesusRocks NOW THAT'S AWESOME! if anything you guys should do a tour of someone that has old computer systems like the old Tandy's or Commodor 64's and collection of old PC games like Kings Quest, Police Quest and the revolutionary Space Quest!
@meckatz lol well nobody wants to hear about games that sucked ass! plus you don't see me making a video about shit I know nothing about now do ya ;) juuuuuuust saying! and take it easy, I thought I was being pretty polite with my comments and the fact it was awesome how they used to work for Sierra...so why so harsh with yours?
earthbound should have seen more copies released... even now i wouldnt pay over 100 for it considering i could get several other great games for that cost
His room is amazing. I see he has the Intellivision Donkey Kong homebrew. I hope to get my copy of Candy Catcher soon. It's still available to purchase over at Atariage.
@IntellivisionDude - I've already confirmed with John that we will be going back to film more video after the new year, and now that I've really covered the Nintendo stuff, I want to get footage of some of the more unusual games... Should be fun! John has so much cool stuff I have yet to discover!
@MetalJesusRocks I always go to my local pawnshops, they sell the most awesome retro games for like 2 - 3 bucks! they never check the value of those games and even consoles! also keep up the video's they are really awesome!
@videogameobsession - There is a local retro shop here in Seattle that has 2 CIB copies of Earthbound selling them for $300 a piece, which is why I wrote that. But obviously when you get to games this sought after, price will vary greatly over time.
Nice looking setup, I'm proud to say that I sold you the Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut manual referenced at 11:45ish. I remember you needing that one forever! FYI to other collectors out there, I'd put Starcraft CIB around $70, Sculptor's Cut at $400+ and ISS 2000 around $100, despite the values listed (I have a full N64 set as well).
Metal Jesus I'm considering getting first chronology trigger to play but I don't know if it's any good I want to know if u played it or if you could reccomend any gba games for me
@pixiedemon1 - I played Chrono Trigger years ago and thought it was absolutely FANTASTIC. The time travelling story line is really neat and the combat system is a lot of fun. If you have the DS, I would pick up that version as it's excellent and only costs about $15 used.
MetalJesusRocks: Man, oh man, at 14:45, you never heard of Marauder?! It's originally a SIERRA game, released under the SierraVision logo in 1982, before it was re-released by TigerVision. Awesome video, but I'm surprised you didn't know that one.
Oh man, I remember after part one of this video I could not wait for part two! It was worth the wait. That is the largest collection I've ever seen. Can't wait for part 3!
John Hancock has an amazing collection of games. The amount of time spent playing all of them would take years. Still, can't wait for Part 3 (or 4 or 5).
Great video(s)! That collection was truly insane. I realize that you may not be producing another video for a few days, so if this is the case I wanted to wish MJ, Master Paul and your families a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Peace bro!
Mind blowing collection. It's one thing to have a loose collection, all of that shit is boxed. He seems like a good guy too, he like Shatterhand, so at the very least you can say he has fantastic taste in games.
@swlovinist Thanks. At 37 I sure wish I held onto the stuff I had when I was younger. I'd have quite the collection. I don't trade my games in or sell them anymore. At least I'm teaching my kids the value of taking care of and holding on to their stuff. I admire your passion.
I love it, a complete copy of Hagane (US) is just sitting there on the table casually, one of the rarest SNES games but in this room it gets no comment
I do, but it is nothing compared to MetalJesusRocks LOL. I post obscure and unusual things from time to time, but have been busy lately getting a local videogame club off the ground. Thanks to all with the kind words.
Speaking of GB and GBA, there's a Canadian Tire in town has a small rack of video games and they still have probably a dozen or so still sealed GBA games, they were either 5 or $10 each. Nothing that I was interested in or that I thought might have any value (I think there was a Shrek game and a Powerpuff girls game). I'm sure if I put them on ebay they would sell just for being SS, but not my thing. More into collecting things I will keep and play.
Really cool of him to let yu show his collection dude, truely amazing, awesome vid :) Do you know what the plastic protective cases are called on american ebay for the super nintendo? I'd like to get some to protect my game boxes :)
john hancock is the guy who inspired me to really buckle down and collect video games every weekend. heard him on the all gen gamers podcast a year ago and met the guy in september at the retro gaming expo. i hope in twenty years my collection is just as big if not bigger than his. awesome video can't wait for pt.3!
That gaming collection is exceptionally awesome!! Man alive, haha. Fantastic video! I'm sure it was difficult to even do the scale of the awesomeness contained inside that room justice. Another excellent video MJR! Peace!
all i have to say is wow....i dont think ive ever seen so many under 1 roof never mind all the rare stuff....u guys look like u had a blast...i really enjoy these vids :)

@canceresbunny - The funny thing was we just did that spontaneously while stopped for some food. It's probably a sign I hang out with Drunken Master Paul too much! However, I have a feeling that intro may show up in future videos sooner than you may think! **wink**
@Frostbitten24 - That's the funny thing about John: he's not really obsessed with the ultra rare games like Stadium Events (NES) or Lochjaw (2600). Instead, most of his favorite games are actually really easy to find and reasonably priced, and often considered "terrible"!
The irony with these N64 games is that they were all at my local video store complete, but as a kid I couldn't afford them, and always asked for them. Clayfighter 63 1/2, Starcraft, Superstar Soccer 2k, maaaaaan.
does john have his own youtube channel ?
