  • 1:50 ROFLCOPTER!!

  • Amazing video! The music was just right. Not overbearing. The vast amount of model kits were amazing. I was wondering why I didn't recognize some of the designs. Pretty neat to see foreign aircraft in Japanese markings. Thanks for your excellent video as well as VERY smooth filming!

  • @JollyRogers5150 Its not Mitsubisi, its Mitsubishi!

  • @Lee78072 I'm sure we will survive.. :)

  • @JollyRogers5150 The Japanese had one Stuka, for trial.. it got damaged in a US bomb attack, so did not survive the war..

  • @JollyRogers5150 Nice and big.. :)

  • Can you give me information about how to get a japanese airplane? I need to find one!!!. if you could tell me the makers :)

  • @spanish111japan Both Hasegawa, Fujimi and also Academy makes Japanes planes.. most modelmakers do! You have to google the name of the plane you want to build, together with 'plastic model kit'! That should help you find some.. :)

  • Wow! I´ve missed all this!? I´ve seen some odd things here: a propellerless J7W1 Shiden (or is it a jet version?), a Jap Stuka, an autogyro, a Ju-88 (?), a P-35 (??), a Hudson (???), a Hellcat (????), a two-bladed Zero, two Zeros and a Phantom that urgently need to go on a diet XDDDD, and a four-engined twin-tailed bomber which I´m not sure if it´s a G8N1 Rita. To this, I´d add some more models I´m not sure of. And talking about Jap warbirds, my next victim may be a Hasegawa 1/48 Ki-61 Hien X)

  • @AlanMartinNala You're probably right on all accounts.. :) :) I filmed this last year, but the Japanese SIG was there this year again.. they had been given quite a dark spot though, so I didn't film them this time.. :)

  • shinden zero betty kate the only ones i reccognise

  • That's more than I do... :) Well, I know the Zero, of'course.. :)

  • is 1:38 wethering

  • 28:)

  • Yes, to a degree.. ;0)

  • @BasicModelling and what looks like a stuka

  • Yes, the Japanes had ONE Stuka, for trial.. I think it was bombed to pieces during a US air raid...

  • they had a perfectly good dive bomber (judy i think) it will teach everyone that you are better off making your own weapons or u will be sad wen u loose them

  • True.. but I think the Germans and the Japanese exchanged a lot of weaponry and ideas during the war..

  • @BasicModelling ii would always stick to my own weponry unless i could be sure that the country wouldnt become my enemy. to be honest im suprised that the germans teamed up with the japanese as they fought against eacxh other during ww1

  • That is why Sweden always (up til now) has manufactured their own weapons like tanks and aircraft, in as much as it has been possible.. with a few wxceptions! As for German & Japan, this time they had a common enemy in the British and Americans.. but I read somewhere that Hitler never forgave the Japanese for attacking Pearl Harbour and getting the US into the war..

  • @BasicModelling so in a way we have o thank the japanese ?

  • In a way, yes.. but the US probably would have joined the war sooner or later anyway.. it just would have taken a lot longer to get to the same ending of it.. if it had been at all possible!

  • I recognize the A6M5 Zero :)

  • That's one classic aircraft.. :)

  • Oh i wish i would have all japanese WW2 planes in 1/72 than i would be so happy and i even wouldn't go to sleep just building whole night hehe

  • Me too.. I started the HobbyBoss Zero a while ago, but it was so bad I binned.. But I have the Hasegawa kit in 1/72 to start at some point!! :)

  • While beautiful - sad to say I did not recognize most of those.

  • Neither did I.. but that's how you learn.. by looking things up! ;0 ;0 I have to confess that Japanese aircraft in particular, and the Pacific Theatre in general, is not my strongpoint! I tend to take more interest in the European theatre of operations, for reasons I no doubt have mentioned too many times before!! So I won't mention Boxted & Thunderbolts again now... :)

  • Thank you,, morre to come... :)

  • at 0:31 the most visible model is the J7W2 one of my favorite Japanese aircraft if you know the guy who built hit tell him thx from me!

  • I'll let him know by e-mail!! Hopefully I'll see them again at the Ipswich Show in October, I think the Japanese SIG will be there.. Keep an eye out for more show footage.. :)

  • I Autogyro but right now I just can't be bothered ;)

  • Ha ha ha ha ha..

    sigh..

  • "I think I'm turning Ja pa nees,

I think I'm turning Ja pa nees,

    - but I'm not entirely sure..."

  • Eating Japanese beans will give you a divine wind..

    Henry J. Heinz

  • Apparrently it's the complex polysaccharides that do it ;)

  • What on earth is that strange plane at 0:49 it has no propeller, ive never seen it in a war film ?

  • I'm not sure!"! But I will e-mail Gary of the Japanese Aircraft SIG the video and see if he can tell us!! He should know, it is his display.. :)

  • The plane at 0:49 is a J7W2. Watanabe was to have produced a jet interceptor, but it was only a paper project. The J7W1(a propellor version of the aircraft) did fly before war's end.

That's what I found out from Gary W, and also that you can buy models in both 1/72 and 1/48 if you want to build one..

  • hai i think isaw a stuka a hellcat and a junkers ju88 but im not shure of it

  • A Junkers Ju88?? Where was that?? The Stuka and Hellcat were there... :)

  • The planes that have weathering looked awesome! Those plump looking ones also are cute n eye catching as well.:-)

  • I love the eggplanes.. There was a whole stand of them which I filmed.. :) :) Something to look forward to.. :)

  • Some really intersting models there - they have been harbouring some pearls

  • Indeed... Shame your neck of the woods is too far away for any one day shows.. as I'm sure you have at least one annual event in your area.. but too far for the NESXM to attend, driving there and back in the same day.. distance tend to be the limit for attending, you see.. .. :) Telford apart, where the show is on for THREE days, and modelleers are coming from all over the globe.. not me though! It's TOO big for my liking..

  • Ha, I almost said there were a few I could not identify. Then I read the other comments and I'm proud to say, I have no idea what most of these were! lol. What a great collection of rarely, or never seen models. Thanks for posting!!

  • It's not easy identifying planes from models seen in a video, for sure.. it's not easy even when you see the actual model.. OR even the real thing at times!! I don't know most of them, and what I do know tend to be the planes NOT made in Japan, like the Seversky, the Stuka, Hellcat and others.. :)

  • Awesome! Although I'm only really familiar with the fighter, the "Zero".

    Have fun modeling!

Please see the new series premiere, Reptile Ridge, uploading now.:)

    Take care!

  • I'll be along, soon as I can... Will try and get some work done in the garden today, though.. :)

  • aww great

    thanks for the upload!

  • More to come.. stay tuned.. :)

  • What a great display of all the planes. Nice music, too.

  • Yes, it was a great show.. I couldn't film ALL that was there as time, memoryspace and above all BAD LIGHT stopped me.. but I have a few more displays to show... :)

  • You know how many I recognized?

    ... zero!

Great video. Gorgeous models! You are really making me want to get back into the hobby!

  • Ha ha ha ha.. punny! Very....

As for the hobby, what IS stopping you?? Apart from time, I suppose?? :)

  • Apart from time, nothing really. Right now I am into screenwriting and creating my board games. Perhaps one day I will (on a whim) build a model and re-launch myself into it. For now, i will enjoy the hobby through your videos, as I have been for a long time - and I thank you for it!

  • the traditional music was epic,I think I've heard something like this

  • Yes, I thought it worked well.. :)

  • some mighty fine planes rob

thought your camera was not working

    or is this old footage?

    love and respect

    scotty and libby:0)

  • No, sorry.. when I wrote camera hunting, I meant hunting photos WITH the camera.. Sorry if I gave the imprerssion the camera was broken!! It's working very well, thank you.. and will no doubt carry on doing so until the day after the 3 year insurance runs out.. :)

  • i ought to go to one of these places are they good?

  • ANY model show is worth going to, if you can.. and MOST Aviation or other military Museums are also well worth a visit.. This was a perfect combination of the two, just a shame I didn't get any footage of the great big Wessex helicopter behind the Japanse SIG... :)

  • Loved that big, green weathered one (Zero..? )

  • Yes, I believe it to be a Zero / Zeke.. It's such a small plane even in the larger scales.. I had hoped to buy the Tamiya Zero in 1/48 scale, but £30???

I DON'T think so... Nope!! I have a HobbyBoss kit in 1/72 to do, if I can find it.. it builds quite nicely, or so they say.. :)

  • Even with my rebate in the shop (which by the way doesn't apply to Tamiya kits) it would be too dear.. a shame, as the kit is BEAUTIFUL!! Never mind..

  • Thats a nice plane!

  • Which one?? :)

  • at 1:41

  • Yes, I agree.. :)

  • Now that is an impressive collection.

  • That's the benefit of being a SIG, I guess.. There's so many SIG's, all doing their own thing, maybe one day I'll join the Swedish Air Force SIG.. :)

  • Now it worked.. And that's awsome!

I did like the weathering on the first one there. The last one wasn't too good (my opinion)..

    And eggplanes! Haha! Sweet! :)

I am amazed that no Seiran planes was there however? And a very off-topic question.. That banner, what was it made of?

  • I think there were only two members of that SIG there, so models were limited.. at least there were only people 2 present when I filmed. I had a good word with Gary Wenko, (the man in shorts at the end of the video) and he said that even though the planes got HEAVILY weathered in the pacific, not ALL planes did.. some only saw short service.. and all planes are NEW at some point! And I tend to agree.. :) Wait until I show the stand of IPMS Coventry.. Eggplanes galore!! Gotta lov'em..

  • I would imagine the banner was made from a cotton sheet or something! ;)

  • Video won't load.. I'll try again a little later on

  • You're very welcome to try again.. :)

  • Thought I saw a Kate, a Val, a Zerro, a Oscar, a Betty, but was confused by what looked like a Stuka...

  • Yes, a Stuka it is.. The Japanese operated them, but I don't know on what basis, or how many.. Did you spot the Hellcat and the Seversky P-35?

  • didn't notice... Thought I saw a Super Sarbe as well...

  • Yes, they definetely used those.. a bit later on, though.. :)

  • Stu.. I sent Gary W (of the Japanese Aircraft SIG) an e-mail and he told me the following:

The Stuka was sent to Japan by Germany for evaluation. It had Japanese makings and perished during the war in a museum during a bombing raid.

  • makings = markings

  • Very nice, that canard jet looks interesting, was it ever in production..?

  • Not sure.. I can contact Gary W and ask.. I would imagine it to be an experimental design, though.. :) I'm just waiting for him to reply to my latest mail.. :)

  • dam there nice

  • They sure are... :)

  • I don't know WW2 J-planes, but that looks like a great cross-section of their air power.

  • Yes, that is what I like about the SIGs.. They stick to a theme, and you get a very good idea of (in this case) what the Japanese flew during WWII.. There were some planes there, like the 4 engined bomber / transport that I didn't even know excisted.. :)
