We live in Texas. Laws governing where you can keep a capybara vary state-to-state and city-to-city.

Caplin is an herbivore, he would never eat a guinea pig. He actually likes guinea pigs but we worry that he'll step on them. He has a rabbit friend that he gets along with fine.

It's amazing that he's in the same family as guineas and hamsters (cavys) and yet are not only known for their size, but how docile and people friendly they are, he's a joy to watch. Thank you very much...

so when he gets wet, does he start to smell? (like wet dog, for example?) Do capybaras emit a natural odor?

No, he doesn't smell. He's normally very clean since he swims and/or takes a bath every day. And he doesn't have thick fur like a dog. His hair is very sparse so it's easy for the water to get down to his skin and really get him clean.

Caplin has a diverse diet founded in a good portion of grass every day. In addition he eats guinea pig food, hay, dried fruit, popsicles and yogurt, which is his favorite food.

I am not like a Puppia employee or anything, I just REALLY REALLY love my dogs, and clearly by your videos, and Caplins lovely personality let me know you love Caplin even more tha I love my dogs.

Now my dogs are strong, and those regular braided belt harness can wear on their skin and hair.

When I changed to the Puppia with the big padded soft collar style it was LOVELY!

The way I found out about them, I saw one at the dog park and ran to find the owner to ask about it!!! Got it online.
