@1992omglol As with anything (piercing, tattooing, scarification, branding, falling & scrapping your knee on the concrete, etc.) healing time depends on different variables of each person, the size of the piece done on them, where it's at, how well it's taken care of, etc.
With scalpel cutting it depends on how much you pick at the scabs (which causes more keloiding) but generally takes about a month or so for initial healing.
Pain after is mostly described as "itchy" & "tightness of skin"
Man, I saw this one video with this guy who had a scorpion tattoo on his chest, the way it looked, with how the lines looked, so awesome. It really calls to me for some reason even though I don't even have any tattoos or piercings or anything like that. It'd be sick as hell to get both legs fully done in something awesome like. None of that tribal bullshit though.
It's actually not so bad (looking at it though, is another story). If you you're willing to have a needle scaring ink into your skin, why not a slight cut? I mean, it's not like they're gouging his skin yo make a horrendous womb.
@rickpermanentmarker Exactly my friend! I had selfharmed from around 13 until I was 15 or 16. I had been through hell by family problems and particularly high school. I'm 18 now and I know that it's much more of a psychological release than physical indeed. It's like you think that you must take the blame yourself for something wrong which you haven't done at all. I've felt that way a lot in the past. Until things got better in the end, I don't do it any more :) xxxx
@pearlsandpebbles Neither ... he's just confident that he did enough research & chose the right artist to perform this type of body modification on him : )
@Waterlou25 99.9% of people say that comparitivly it's easier than getting tattooed, so if you can handle a tattoo you can handle a cutting (pain wise)
The biggest thing to consider is the longer healing process. Picking scabs off in the shower & keeping the wound open gives a more raised scar, but you have to be careful with that so you don't cause uneven blowout keloiding : (
Results also vary with different skin types.
Do as much research as you can so you know what you're getting into.
@Waterlou25 Even the best artist is at the mercy of the clients aftercare. Recutting uneven spots is sometimes necessary, especially with larger designs, but you have to know how to blend into the more raised parts without causing blowout.
Also, choosing the right design is as key as choosing the right artist.. Remember, it's not a tattoo ... don't try to get too small & intricate in the design. Simple impressionistic lineart is best for cutting scarification or it will turn to a blob of shit.
@Inkofnight It's hard to say why it faded light ... not cut deep enough, maybe you took 2 good of care of it (the more you scrub & pick the scabs while healing the more it will scar) ... everyone heals differently & different skin types scar more than others.
The ultimate solution is to cut it again, but you have to be careful & know what you're doing 'cause recutting scar tissue can cause uneven keloiding & make it look like shit : (
@polengsantiago Diamond implant . . . Actually implanting a diamond under the skin for safe keeping or are you refering to a micro-dermal, which is more of an anchor than an actual implant ???
In either case, the answer would be yes, I can : )
bitches, this is pussy ass shit. the cuts are miniscule and just break the skin. i self mutilate with much pleasure and my cuts are DEEP, where i bleed for hours and feel woozy. and yes normally i would need stitches if i didnt want the scar to remain for life. people who get it done "surgically" miss the whole point spilling blood. and fuck those who call me emo or whatever other bullshit terms. ive been doint it since emo kids were in the womb. i cannot be helped. you may refer to me as GOD.
@panzerdeath333 Anyone who seeks to change themselves thru any medium of body modification, wether self inflicted or in a studio, is far from being a "pussy" or a "bitch" ... However, judgemental self-righteous fucktards that think they're better than someone else because they don't have the same view of body "ART" that they do are usually overbearing douchebags.
I will refer to you as the GOD OF DOUCHEBAGS !
ps
Post a video of your cuttings so we may judge your "ART" !
@polengsantiago Before considering scalpel scarification I recommend researching anatomy & the vascular system, as well as human skin so you have a good understanding of where & where NOT to cut someone.
When 1st starting I recommend drawing curves & shapes and cutting on smooth melons just to get a steady hand with the scalpel, then graduate up to pig skin, which is the closest thing to human skin.
Then, ONLY when you're confident with your cutting skill graduate to a live person.
@SuperEbay123 Just like any other surgical proceedure breaking the skin, strict preperations and adhering to proper informed aftercare are key to preventing infections. A person that comes in for a 6 - 10 hour 1/4 sleeve tattoo is actually at a greater risk of open wound infection than a cutting scarification like this. There is a much greater risk, of course, with dermal peeling where the skin is cut and then sliced away in sections of the design
@rickpermanentmarker prolonged open wounds through several deep layers of infection prone skin? I wouldn't even let a low budget budget hospital do a procedure like that let alone a tattoo parlor.
@dcm1016 There are 1000 times more reported cases of hepatitis & other proceedurally contracted health risks in Dr & dentists offices than in tattoo / piercing studios ! The key is finding an experienced, knowledgable, responsible artist that takes thorough precautions & gives informed aftercare with frequent followup inspections to prevent such problems!
I guess it's just not for you, so why judge others for what they do?
I would presume you a religious person as judgement comes easy to you !
@dcm1016 Watch the video named: "Suffering a thousand cuts" then we'll discuss your low budget hospital opinion !
Many tribal cultures have been doing ritual cutting / scarification for thousands of years ... but of course, you are a new age modern person righteous enough to judge others, so your opinion should matter more !?
@rickpermanentmarker Judging others? I think you're reading too much into my comment. I'm simply saying the risk for infection is off the damn charts, even the people who do this as cultural tradition probably know this.
Maybe I did read to much into your comment, sorry . . . but at the very least it sound to me like you judge tattoo shops lower than a low budget hospital ?
I take great care in my studio & interview clients before performing this type of scarification to insure they have a full understanding of the risk as well as the best informed instruction to prevent infections & achieve the best results of their desired art.
that would hurt like a bitch. regular tattoos are tolerable but it would seriously be impossible for me to just sit there and get chunks of flesh cut out
@flymofo3eb As I said before, most say that comparitivly it's easier than getting tattooed, so if you can handle a tattoo you can handle a cutting (pain wise)
If you notice, he was talking normally thru the whole proceedure. Most people will wince & moan more during a tattoo than a cutting : )
@rickpermanentmarker yeah i see what your seeing. is it harder for you to do cutting than tattooing? because tattooing you can kinda fix little mistakes but with scarification it seems hard to adjust to a mistake
@flymofo3eb The trick is ... don't make mistakes : )
Practice on melons or something so you're steady & comfortable with holding whatever tool it is you're working with.
The worst thing about any body mod procedure is the fact that u r working on a live, moving canvas so mistakes usually result from someone wincing, moving or not paying attention to what's going on while they're talking 2 a friend or something . . . "Hey, I'm tattooing / piercing / cutting you here . . . HOLD STILL !"
Numbing doesn't allow the client to properly judge if something doesn't feel right & can also cause problems with the proceedure ... and besides that most say that comparitivly it's easier than getting tattooed, so if you can handle a tattoo you can handle a cutting (pain wise)
@KelchLion Nothing EMO about this cutting friend. This was a collaborative idea that he spent alot of time making his descision on, which would be obvious to anyone that actually listened 2 what he was talking about.
If he was EMO he prolly would've cut himself & not come 2 me & paid what he did 4 it : /
@rickpermanentmarker my friend was emo,and he wished to stop so he siad"for my last cut,im getting a scarification that says,'im changed' and it looks awesome
