  • A pretty woman like that can smash my chairs in anyday lols.

  • Calm down bro just watch the video.

  • NO ONE GIVE A SHIT OH I AM 20 AND I LIKE CLASH GOD I AM YONGER THAN YOU I AM 12 AND I LIKE CLASH BUT WHO GIVES A FUCK YOU LIKE NICE BUT WE DONT CARE THAT YOU HATE NEW MUSIC AND YOUR 20 GOD STFU

  • I'm sick of you bickering idiots. All you guys do is argue a point that's impossible to win. You think Joe would've been like yeah you guys are right?! No way. Stop arguging and smearing this smut all over gold. Rock n roll is rock n roll get over yourselves.

  • Fuck the beatles and the stones. The Clash are why rock and roll is not American. You think it's American but when those people were making music they couldn't get on a bus with white people. The Clash are everything America isn't.

  • greatest interview of all time

  • @asdqwezxc69 Kind of makes me think if he still has any of that left nowadays. Would love to see what he looks like today and what he's been doing with his life.

  • "...this is what a PROPER group does..."

  • "What do you think about the Buzzcocks?" Joe - "I think the Buzzcocks... are a bit limp." hahah!

  • sex pistols wonna bees!!!

  • @CraptinPants76 meh.

  • @CraptinPants76 lol, trolling?

  • I've seen The Buzzcocks a few times, always been really brilliant gigs. Maybe I was lucky.

  • @DoctorDoBuggerAll same. I saw them a while back in Perth, Western Australia and it was a good show. Perhaps just cos I'm sentimental, but still.

  • Reticent twats!...Shame really, cause there music is brilliant, but there so full of self importance ,thinking they are the way to a better future...There'd end up rulling and fucking up just like the rest.

Let music be music and just that,.,,,,enjoy the sound !!

  • @FlashmoreGash There were brilliant because they were artists. They were not great musicians, as in instrument virtuosos, but they have the one thing that distinguishes good art (music, film, poetry)a great message, deep meaning etc. that resonated with millions, and the honesty to not pretend to be anything they were not.Only crap music is just music. Dishonest pretentious music is crap. They didn't want to rule anything! fuck up like the rest? What"rest"?

  • @FlashmoreGash Well said. I slightly gag when I hear these guys talk, with that "we're so unphased" air about them, when it looks so contrite. I love their music, and their message, but just string a sentence together without trying to be cool, would ya? Guess they were young, so a lot can be put down to that, eh?

  • @jigmesam Agree! :0)

  • @jigmesam Seriously what young band today can string a decent sentence together without looked contrite, or even worse heavily prepped by the record label? At least the Clash lads did mature and the interviews from the late 90s onwards are really insightful from a bunch of wise musical veterans. You look at John Lydon now though in comparison- he's still a total prick

  • you gotta give it all you got or forget it!!!!

  • Joe Strummer was perfect, just amazing. I miss him :(

  • Always have to contend with the middle class, they're the first killers.

  • I know some of the shit artsits that the Clash would've named are probably these: Blue Oyster Cult Ted Nugent Journey Fleetwood Mac The Rolling Stones Steely Dan

  • haha joe strummer ^^

  • The movie 'bout Joe is a bit boring at the end, when Topper falls out.

    XD

  • that blonde is really hot. what's her name?

  • @MrTaxman88 Gaby Salter the mother of Joe's child XDDD

  • @bloodyfication I can kinda now see why Joe eventually left her- from what I read about her before, I was expecting someone different.

  • @crapple009 is she that bad?

  • @bloodyfication Nah, just a bit obnoxious here. But then again, I didn't realise till now that she was only 18 yrs. old back in '79 so there you are.

  • Why does that guy dress like Han Solo? Haha

    Love The Clash forever~

  • is that fuggin jeanne beker?

  • I'm only 15 and I've been a fan of the clash since before i could walk!! my dad and mom played their music all the time and i grew up singing London Calling while all my friends fawned over Jesse McCartney! (lol remember that guy??)

    Anyway, I love these guys!!

but we shouldnt argue... if we mutually love the clash and their music, we should stick together...

  • The movie Rude Boy is really crap.

  • if i would have been there with my 2 brothers, uncle and cuz we would have fucked that whole place up, it gets me pissed when i see the dropkicks and all the yuppies are standing still my family starts fuckin shit up rigth in the middle of them, LOVE THE CLASH!!! talk shit about THE CLASH with me around i'll smash your fuckin face.ps if i could get a time machine i would just go back too see THE CLASH

  • Not true. America has produced the most influential music next to Jamaica. Without our history of bloodthirsty oppression, the world would've never experienced the blues!

  • I'm Canadian and i know it's true that the Brits rock the punk music harder then anyone in the world.

  • Why is Mick dressed like Elton John?

  • @simonpenum cause he's cool

  • @simonpenum

    He's hiding his bald patch.

  • british people suck at bashing large groups of people. americans INVENTED rock & roll. ignorant, uneducated fucks..

  • @Wonderbread101 Actually, Africans.

  • @MrTaxman88 lol, African Americans nonetheless.

  • @Wonderbread101 african americans invented rock n roll, but I'm pretty sure that even your white americans don't give them credit for that,am I wrong?

  • @linegenrou Yeah, actually... where do people get these ideas? So as flattering as all the microanalyzation from Europeans and the rest of the world is, not everything Americans do must be antagonised..

  • @linegenrou Rock 'n' roll was also partly invented by the hillbillies who were descendants of the poor and looked-down-upon Scottish-Irish who had settled in the Appalachia region of the U.S. It's really a blend between black and white. Many people forget this.

  • Penny Smith what a great chick. Best rock'n'roll pic ever! Thx.

  • lol, $40 dollars? Mr Gaga...or sir Gaga, whetever his name is charged like $200 a ticket at Pittsburghs Console Energy Center. Anyone who is going to pay that much to see some sellout pop star deserves to die a very slow and painful death.

  • Mick Jones was just incredible

  • Joe Strummer was the best thing to happen in the 20th Century

  • I wonder what Joe would think about paying to see $40 for a rocknroll show these days.

  • LOL seats for a Clash concert? What did they expect?

  • I'm 15 and lovin the Clash and Mescalero's, Mick is such a legend!!! And RIP joe :(

  • I wish more celebrities now would be able to handle interviews like Mick Jones at 2:23. I like how when he looks into the camera, its almost like he means that the phrase is in parentheses.

  • mick jones. hero

  • stop my benefits and I'll destroy the world

    Dee Zee EE

    4+5 = 9

    like, die, dude

I did it, now it's your turn. You can take your shirt off but just get gone. It's in the Bible.

  • god i wish i cudda met joe....he knew wot he were on about!!....ABSOLUTE LEGEND!!

  • R.I.P. JOE

  • Joe seems desperately unhappy..; tired, grumpy, defensive and hostile. But at least he's being real. The mockney accents of him and Mick are hilarious. The girls seem brainless... I'd feel like Joe if I had the likes of them hanging round me for weeks on end.

  • The girls they interview at 1:30 are obv high, pretty funny.

  • Thats 1 thing about The Clash least they didnt milk it !

  • is that fergal sharky a7.52 in the red shirt?

  • aye that is Fergal "hunky" Sharky - ma fav band got him famous (FACT) PMSL

  • i love this...its the real deal. these guys mean what they do

  • I'll do everyone one better-I'm 15 and I think the Clash are the only band that mattered and will ever matter. All this crap out their nowadays will never be this good.

  • im 19 and i 100% agree...the clash forever!!!

  • Thought I'd seen all Joe's interviews but never seen this one. Combined with my other 'greatest band of all time' The Undertones this is a gem. He was an arrogant tw*t at times but he was the best and God love him R.I.P.

  • old music really has something to offer. its true words being spoken. jesus, im only 20, and i cant stand most of all this new shit music. its bollocks, it doesnt mean anythin.

    long live the clash!

  • You have to destroy chairs to be considered a true rock and roll fan? What a silly idea that is.

  • haha canader

  • and they think rock and roll was bad back then....

    its 10 times worse now.

    mick must be miserable!

  • I like that interview its good:)

Undertones in there as well, i like it(Y)

  • Kosmo Vinyl

  • who is tht guy with the blond hair

  • is that blonde gal with the camera Pennie Smith? I always thought she had black hair... Well, maybe she had dyed it. I think she's cute :) . And you gotta love Kosmos quiff!

  • the blond girl with the camera is gabby joes first mrs mother of his eldest daughters.

  • Buzzcocks don't date well while The Clash are still ahead of their time.

  • Lol Go u nickymale!

    LOVE mick jones.

  • "[Americans] mostly listen to shit music-"

LOL. From what I've seen, this is mostly true.

  • shit i bet they are blasting the clash overseas. but all we heard is the radio crap which is all watered down and over played

  • I'm american.

    This is mostly true! :D

I'm not gonna lie being american is shameful now. People are gonna rag on me for saying this huh?

    whatever go ahead and rant!

  • i know what you mean. im canadian. we know how unpopular americans are in the world. Maybe Obama can change that?

  • I sure hope so...

Anyway canada's cool cuz they don't meddle with things that they shouldn't and they have the best ski resorts ever!!!!!

  • naw dude you're right. im not gonna be one of those people that follows the current president or whatever....id much rather do my own thing because i dont have to worry if im minding my own bussiness.

  • @jluce93 it is very true.

  • @jluce93 Hey shithead, rock and roll is American. Sure, the Beatles and Stones made it massive and are the most successful, but Morrissey and The Stones and Sir Paul and Ringo will admit it. New York Dolls, THE DOORS, VU and others... But go back to Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Leadbelly and more...

  • AS much as i love joe strummer...

the buzzcocks have NOT gotten sloppy with old age. They still rock it, and alot harder than the clash could if they were still around. ive seen buzzcocks 3 times in the last few years and they

were some of the greatest shows of my life.

  • You've seen the Buzzcocks over the last few years? That's great. The ARE still good.

But did you ever see the Clash?

If not, shut the fuck up.

  • hey buddy, im not talking any shit on the clash,

but look at the shape they are in. Mick jones (love him to death) but carbon silicon is not that hot.

Topper is in crutches and joe strummer (unfortunately) is in the grave. Therefore, they can not rock it. and paul could never play in the first place (even though his songs were rocking). Shut your ignorant mouth, i like the clash more than you ever could. so dont go around acting like you know better mr. "librarianeric".

  • Hey "easyimage," if your profile is correct, you weren't even born the last time the Clash played live, so shut the fuck up.

You little shits hear this stuff twenty or thirty years after it happened and you think you're some kind of authority?!?

Someone like nickymale sees the Buzzcocks three times over the last few years and wants to compare them to the Clash? Please. What is that based on? Not even Shelley or Diggle would agree with his assessment.

    Think before you speak asswipes.

  • Alright, Smart old man. The argument started because i simply stated:

"buzzcocks have NOT gotten sloppy with old age. They still rock it, and alot harder than the clash could if they were still around." I was stating the facts, but for some reason this offended you. I should have expected such a typical answer from an old fart. Thinking you have some over-powering authority because of age. That is something ridiculous my mom would say...

  • ... Its disgusting, and it makes no sense. You should be so ashamed of yourself..swearing at an 18 year old who can make better points in an argument than you, mr. 45 years of age! You over the hill yet?

    and p.s.

did you ever see the Clash lately??

and/or had a conversation with Shelley or Diggle?

if not, you know the rest.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! Good one! You got me! I'm an old fart who probably has more in common with your mom than I do with you. But I bet your mom knows ten times what you know about punk rock!

"I was stating the facts" - no you weren't. You were stating an opinion, which is fine ... but its not a fact. Learn the difference.

And if I'm an "old fart" what does that make the Buzzcocks who are all ten years older than me?

Your passion is commendable but your ignorance is profound.

  • I'm only 24, but shit, I know what I missed. But age isn't important, nobody owns this music to have authority over.

  • hell im only 17 and i agree. I've hung out with so many old punks, and they've explained what i've missed lol. But it's funny that i find something relvant that was made and fought for over 30 years ago.

  • you should listen to paul simonons project with damon albarn the good the bad and the queen...not as good as blur and gorillaz (damon albarn bands) or the clash in my opinion but paul simonon is still doing great stuff

  • great album :) really grows on you.. paul is back to his raggae roots :)

  • blonde girl looks like hayley williams with bigger and blonder hair.

  • can someone upload this without the bitch going on and on

  • SteveoNYC, it's a weird paradox isn't, that '1977' openly and brazenly and bravely denounced the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Elvis and simultaneously there just couldn't be any other way. America wouldn't have because the Ramones were primarily just being humorous and Television was nihilistic.

  • i love this song!!!!!!

  • love you guys forever!!!!!!

  • LoL are you serious? And where do you imagine Rock n' Roll had its incarnation? I assure you it wasn't on the East side of the Atlantic.

  • @stevoNYC True as that is, it's a bigger shame that the machinery of 'White America" at the time would not allow it to develop there, confining it to "Race Music".

Jazz, Blues, Rock and Roll, R and B, Motown/Soul could only have been born in the U.S. owing to the Cotton industries of the South, however... it was England and France that embraced, nurtured and ultimately 'gave back' that music to America and the rest of the world.

Seems the unwanted egg found another mother, and a happy ending.

  • @APublicDomain It was the English who captured, shackled and put East Africans on ships to the New World in exchange for sugar, rum and other commodities to bring back to England, so many thanks to the English for so much of the American music we all can enjoy.

  • @crapple009 Yeah, I think we've covered that.

  • @stevoNYC Im punk. not a doubt about it. and youre right, no matter HOW MUCH punks shit on rock n roll, without it, there isnt punk. and hes right. Was NOT the east side of the atlantic. im not even American. so im not bias.
