  • Good Lord... that curtsy - like a peasant. What a strange addition to the Royal Family she was - like a caricature

  • I don't like this dress.

  • That song is so CHEERFUL and perfect really for the wedding, any wedding really.

  • BTW, Diana looks very common and like a petulant teenager sitting their hunched over like she is in a boring math class.

  • @LyricalXilence It probably was boring as hell. I don't exactly see a beaming smile on the Queen either btw.

  • Beautiful curtsey Sarah. The overall look, is much better without the flowers in her hair. I would definitely wear Sarah's dress today; only thing I would change slightly is the sleeves.

  • @LyricalXilence She wasn't supposed to wear a tiara because she was not born of royal blood until aftyer the ceremony. Kate broke with tradition by wearing a tiara for the ceremony.

  • @tigertbalm I don't think that's true. Diana wore a tiara...(from her own family but still...), Sophie wore a tiara, I believe the Queen Mother also wore a tiara at some point on her wedding day. The tradition is that the Queen either buys or loans a tiara to the bride, Sarah just chose to wear flowers up the ailse as a symbolism of her becoming a "country girl" and a tiara back to show she was now HRH The Duchess of York and a princess.

  • its a ROYAL wedding Leo..... Hello!

  • bonito bonito el vestido, peinado espantoso!!!!

  • O vestido de noiva da Sarah é lindissimo muito mais bonito do que o vestido da princesa Diana, na minha opinião.

  • It's really too cute the way they hold hands (4.56)

  • lovely couple!edward was handsome!

  • The organ music was atrocious...like something from a bad horror movie. Guess it was prophetic in some ways to the state of the marriage.

Amazing that the Queen or the Duke couldn't manage to crack a smile for the newlyweds on their wedding day. What the hell is the matter with them?!

  • @Leo9Lover I personally fail to see how anyone can call the organ music atrocious. It is by one of the best British composers, and is even titled "Triumphal March", so doesn't really pertain to a bad horror movie. As an organist myself, I think you would appreciate it more if you actually heard it performed live as opposed to on a recording like this. It's a pretty tough piece to play as well!!

  • @dunelmite1

I appreciate your comment coming from the perspective of an organist. By the title,"Triumphal March," it is no doubt an appropriate selection for the occasion. However, I can't help but find the notes a little dark and heavy... conjuring up images of Bela Lugosi appearing from behind velvet drapes...or perhaps The Phantom of the Opera....either way I'm not getting wedding-ish warm fuzzies from the music!

  • at least Sarah looked happy when she married

  • What I didn't like about their wedding was that, as she approached the Queen, Sarah kept looking back & chatting. I just felt she was being disrespectful to HM, very undignified & unregal. I know she would have been excited & having fun, but one is expected to follow protocol when in the Queen's presence. I didn't see HM smile after the curtsey. Perhaps she was thinking the same thing!!!

  • Who did Sarah think she was in that dress with the enormous train... Princess Diana??? Although, I must admit that Fergie's dress was nicer than Diana's. The "A" for Andrew on her train inspired me, &, 3 years later when I got married, I put my husbands initial on mine! Lucky for me, my marriage has lasted, & we celebrate our 22nd anniversary this July...

  • i think this was the best royal wedding the family ever had. i mean, look at them. they were smiling and laughing and looking around a lot. funny how the marriage ended...i think the queen was the one who made them get divorced even tho they really loved each other. and i also think the queen paid fergie millions so fergie can not reveal that the queen paid her to keep her mouth shut.

  • her dress was lovely . . the organ was terrible though! I hope they renew their vows one day . . they seem to belong together . .

  • her dress was lovely . . the organ was terrible though!

  • I remember this wedding well. Think I still have a recording. I really took to Sarah but in truth she was not suited to Royalty. No decorum, bless her! She actually approached the Queen looking backwards and chatting! How inappropriate!! I know it was her day & she's over excited but as she was walking down the isle, simple smiles of acknowledgement would have looked mire dignified without looking stuffy/snobbish. She reminds of an overexcited large and much loved pet dog!! Felt sorry for her w

  • I love how they held hands at times as they walked out together. Beautiful :)

  • this is the best royal wedding and I think even though they are divorced this couple are still in love and should remarry

  • @sailorjack100 I totally agree

  • Sarah was a down to earth person and brought some fresh air into the palace.

Shame about what happened to their marriage .

  • i think they chatted too much on their way out, it didn't look nice

and the bride just kept turning her head back....

  • i think they chatted too much on their way out, it didn't look nice

  • Poor Fergie looked so common and un-Regal

  • It made me laugh to see Sarah tromp down the aisle. Who would have thought years later she would have the morals of a...well..I can't compare it to anything else.

  • Hoiw cute! Look at Prince William in the back!!

  • I always loved Sarah's dress. It was "simple" compared to Diana's. Of course now, compared to Kate's it is pretty frou-frou but it was the 80's after all.

  • sarah was beautiful her dress was stunning.

  • What a magnificant "Exultate jubilate". Augér was a true genius!

  • Kate today had so much elegance, poor Fergie did not.

  • That train is ridiculously long!!

  • @oBritisho. Physical beauty is overrated, but although Camilla isn't the best looking, her strength & dignity make her beautiful. Yes, Diana was gorgeous, but she wasn't perfect, & she, too committed adultery. Her break-up with Charles wasn't all his & Camilla's fault. There were many factors in it. Glad to see that you acknowledge that, & weren't afraid to admit you like Camilla. You're very sensible!!! : )

  • @oBritisho. Thanks for agreeing! I agree with you, also, in that Camilla is an incredible & strong woman. She's emerged from beneath Diana's shadow with dignity & class. She finally married the man she's always loved, which was no easy task! People just don't want to accept or believe that. We may be two of the very few who do, although some may think like we do, but are afraid to admit it.

  • @bfuente1. Finally, someone who acknowledges Camilla for being nice, rather than put her down! I'm sick & tired of everyone making her out to be a rogue. She simply married the man she had always loved, & I think she should be given the title Queens Consort when Charles becomes King. If he's King, & she's his wife, then that is her official title. Glad to see you're not short-sighted!

  • @xmasbaby1968,

Again, I agree with your statement and bfuente1's, Camilla is still a human being with emotions!, I personally think she is a incredible woman, with a lovely attitude!

    God Save The Queen!

  • What a pity it didn't last as they look so well suited.

  • @TheAnn2shoes It is a shame because I think they were crazy-in-love and still are.

  • OMG this is so exciting watching past royal weddings on youtube! I've never seen these before, they happened LONG before I was even born!

  • Oh boy, I'm starting to get "royal wedding" fever!!! Can't wait til William and Kate's wedding!! Hope everything goes great for them!!

  • @marym499 yeah same here you cant beat a Royal wedding and all the eyes of the world will be on us hope that goes up on you tube too i still have my princess Diana doll in her wedding dress that was given to me

  • 3 great things about this wedding. 1. Andrew and Fergie loved each other. 2. Fergie's gorgeous dress. 3. The blue carpet!

  • Such a lovely gown! And they look truly happy.

Too bad they might have celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary this year.

  • didn't she wear a flower crown in first video how it did change ?!! *___*

  • @gzdgtd She was wearing the tiara and had all the flowers inserted in it before she went down the aisle. They were removed before she came back down. It was meant to symbolize she went in as a commoner and came out a princess.

  • @Malauney Actually no, Fergie was never was a princess, she was a Dutchess, Dutchess of York, secondly the flowers was concealing her tiara because Andrew loves gardenias and that was a symbol of love for her husband...

  • @BlushResponse1 At first she was to be known as Princess Andrew (like Princess Michael) but he became the Duke of York on their wedding day and so she was not Her Grace but rather HRH The Duchess due to her being a royal Princess. Yes it is a bit boring but I remember the wedding and the commentary

  • @BlushResponse1 Actually Sarah was a Princess.. when she was married her list of titles would have started with HRH the Princess Andrew...Duchess of York.. and so on... just as Diana was HRH the Princess Charles... Sophie HRH the Princess Edward and finally Catherine.. HRH the Princess William...

  • @gzdgtd well Sarah wanted to enter the Abby as a commener [like us non royal]and leave the Abby as a Duchess so thats why she wore the tiara on her way out

  • they were such a cute couple! i was trully happy when prince andrew ended up with sarah. Too bad it didn't last...

  • i thought it was tradition for the bride to lay her bouqet at the tomb of the unknown soldier.. why didnt she do it?

  • @Dxjx777 She probably returned it the following day i think thats what the Queen did. Returned it a later date

  • Will looks so cute...and now he's gonna be getting married there too! *tear*

  • Why can't love work? They looked so very happy and much in love... it is such a shame. I mean she really loved him and he seemed to love her!!!

  • actually, if and when charles should ever be king, which is highly doubtful, camilla will be his queen consort, not queen.

  • her dress was more beautiful than diana's but diana's wedding was far better than this one.

  • It's great how Andrew and Sarah came out from the back room and stop in front of Her Majesty the Queen and he bows to his Mum and Sarah does a curtsy. Love that!

  • @szqsk8 yes, actually is tradition to do a curtsy to the Queen at the end of the ceremony, her sister, cousin, daughter, etc. did it, and kate and william will do it too =)

  • I had a question, she had a beautiful crown of flowers at the beggining of the ceremony, and I wonder when she changed her flower crown for a diamond one, now I know, when they went to sign their marriage certificates to te back of the church, that's where she changed her crow. A mistery was solved, thanks

  • to fleurgi: Nancy Reagan was first lady of the United States. She represented her husband the President and the entire country. The wedding was an occasion of state. Are you protesting the fact that Hilary Clinton attended Princess Diana's funeral in '97? How about Laura Bush attending the Queen Mother's funeral in '02? I am sure Michelle Obama will attend Prince William's wedding if he gets married during Obama's term in office.

  • @4sm2use Nope! They were not invited To Princes Will's wedding. Can't help but get a little giggle & grin about that one.

  • wth is nancy reagan doing at the royal wedding. the U.S is not no common wealth. where is canada's PM we were a loyal colony. that really annoys me how everyone caters to americans

  • Yes you guys were "catering" to us, because you guys shouldn't be friendly to us especially since we saved you guys from Hitler and all. Also many head of states or Representatives from many countries were invited.

  • what i'm confused are u british or american. i'm just saying it only makes sense that the canadian PM be present a a royal wedding. canada is a loyal common wealth where as the US is a republic and ditched Britian. Canada has and always will be loyal and also i am thankful for the americans part in saving us all during the war but canad a fought the whole span of the war for Britain whereas the americans were unconcerned with what was happen in europe until Japan attack them.

  • @jonmartinsc Tipical of an american mentality. You saved who exactly? You only went to war when they attacked you guys. Otherwise you did not give a damn what was going on in Europe.

  • @freelancelady

Yet once again it doesn't mater what we did before or after Pearl Harbor what matters is without us you could say bye bye to George VI & Queen Elizabeth and hello President Fritz put in place by none only than Mr. Hitler himself. No one else was able to stop him but the good old USA! Maybe if the Brits & the French didn't give Hitler a slap on the wrist everytime he did something wrong and say bad Hitler and actually did something WWII would of been avoided. Part 2 to follow...

  • @freelancelady Pearl harbor is irrelevant because we had nothing to do with what was going on in Europe because we were smart and didn't create Alliances. It's people like you that can't admit that your precious country was getting it's ass kicked that makes me wish my country let Hitler keep Blitzing the hell out of you guys and bomb you into the stone age! I love Britain but some of you have the Mentality you're better than other Europeans and that your poop doesn't smell. part 3....

  • Comment removed

  • @freelancelady

Wake up call if it wasn't for us your country wouldn't be what it is today! Time to swallow your pride and get over it. Know back on topic HM Queen Elizabeth II stated on a state visit to the USA that she grew up in an ere where people " Knew our existence was based on the help of the USA int eh difficult times of WWII" so she had great respect and immense gratitude to our country and that's why she invited the US First lady. Plus she was good friends with Mr 7 Mrs. Reagan

  • @fleurgi What? Of course the USA contingent is there - it's a state event. I bet the crowned heads of Europe are there too somewhere + state representatives from France - with whom we've had several wars over the centuries!

  • @Knappa22 forgive me i was just enraged at the time. i have calmed down and looked at the situation more rationally since. now let that be the end of it. but wtf is canada...we r so loyal

  • Arleen Auger's voice is just amazing!!

  • Sadly the couple separated a a few years ago now .

  • Is Prince Andrew now married? and im curious if how old is he now....

  • No he never remarried. He is approaching 50 I think. I think he and the Duchess have done a fine job raising the princesses. I think Andrew and Sarah still live together. They did after the divorce for the longest time. Why not, I'm sure the houses are plenty big enough!!

  • So lovely to hear Arleen Auger again - THAT'S the most important point to draw from this post. Such a wonderful voice.

  • The singing is absolutely glorious!! Very pretty!!

  • Well Camilla chose not to take the Princess of Wales title since Diana is still technically referred to as Diana, Princess of Wales, even though she is HRH The Princess of Wales, I doubt most people would refer to her as that even if she had taken it. I think they allowed Diana to keep that title after the divorce because of the children, although she was stripped of her HRH. I might be wrong on some of this.

  • No you're right. they let her keep the Princess of Wales title out of curtosy but took the HRH because she left the royal family. They wouldnt let her go titleless I think because she's the mother of a future monarch. Had she lived & remarried, she would lose the Wales title & would have been "Lady Diana (husband's last name)" because she's a lady in her own right.

  • but had she lived during william's reign. she would be queen mother and knowing william's bond with diana, he would brake tradition and make diana royality on his terms

  • You're 10000% right. I wish she was still here too. I think it's sweet though that William & Harry get along with their stepmother (at least publically, we dont know what's behind closed doors).

  • William can still give that back to her when he is king. They say he will.

  • Probably???? but yeah they always lose the HRH after they get divorced i meant i wish if she was still alive and he still married camilla that she will still be our Queen.....

  • I think I liked her dress even better than Diana's.

  • Although Im not certain, I think that Harry Bicket was doing some improvisation during the recessional just before the newly weds emerge and he starts on the Elgar, which I have to say is a fantastic piece to play on the organ, also Harry Bicket must have only been about 25-26 when playing in the royal wedding.

  • Youtube-People.

Stop writing about the other members of the royal family!!

This gorgeous video is dedicated to Andrew & Sarah only!!!

    Thanks

  • thanks for posting all of these!

  • I really am a big fan of Sarah, and I don't think it was fair for The Royal Family to cast her out the way that they did. They act as though she never even existed, yet,Camilla,Charles's ex-Mistress,is now The Princess Of Wales.

  • No she's not. Camilla is Duchess of Cornwall only.

  • Actually she is the princess of wales by right, but she does not go by this title, she goes but the title of duchess of Cornwall.

  • I don't know enough about it to be honest. I know there'll be a hell of a broohaha when Charles becomes king.

All this business about Camilla becoming "Princess Consort" is a load of old cobblers... she will be Queen. The wife of a King is a Queen.

  • She is not the Princess of Wales, she can`t be because Princess Diana is still the Princess of Wales. Camilla is only Duches of Cornwall.

  • She IS the Princess of Wales as confirmed by the Lord Chancellor on the occassion of their marriage. She in fact holds all of her husbands titles by marriage as is the case with every Royal and peer. She chooses NOT to use the title but a subsidiary title Duchess of Cornwall. Diana is NOT the Princess of Wales, she can't be because a) she's divorced from the Prince of Wales and b) she's dead.

  • @huwwilson650 Diana's formal name after the divorce is Diana, Princess of Wales. She loses the title upon re-marriage. That was the deal in the divorce. Camilla was at least nice enough to show some respect to the woman whose marriage she destroyed & use the Duchess of Cornwall title

  • @bfuente1 No she didn't keep the title! People are so deluded that Diana, Princess of Wales means she keeps the title. Let me make it more clear if the Duke of York remarries, that woman becomes HRH The Duchess of York but Sarah remains Sarah, Duchess of York. Sarah is not THE Duchess of York, just like the former Duchess of Marlborough is not THE Duchess of Marlborough. The Duke of Marlborough's current wife is the Duchess of Marlborough but his former wife has the STYLE Duchess of Marlborough.

  • Actually she is! In fact she is legally HRH The Princess Charles, Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Chester, Countess of Carrick, Baroness Renfrew, Princess of Scotland and Lady of the Isle.

  • I'm afraid your wrong! The Lord Chancellor confirmed that she would hold all of her husbands titles. Moreover this wasn't theoretically neccessary as the wife of a peer holds her husbands styles and titles unless specifically deprived of the titles from the Sovereign 'the fount of honour', which she was not.

  • Ok ok ok. I think you've made your point in various essays on this subject above!

Yes, Camilla IS Princess of Wales.

    You are RIGHT!

Big medal in the post for you.

  • problem is nobody is reading posts and so they keep writing misleading information which is so irritating.. can't people read. scroll down and you'll see how many people have made that mistake. don't get smart with me pal when your the one who is wrong!

  • Absolute piffle she is most certainly not the Princess of Wales, she is actually the Queen Consort, unless this has changed since I have last heard

  • why not? She and Prince Andrew divorced and Camilla married Prince Charles. Forgive but do you incorporate your relatives former spouses in family occassions?

  • It's a pity that Edward and Sophie got shafted in 1999 with a lousy wedding at St. george's Chapel at Windsor. Adnrew and Sarah got the who nine yards. Andrew and Sarah were created a Duke and Duchess. Edward and Sophie got a measily title of Earl and Countess. It just goes to show you that the 2nd oldest son is better than the youngest son in the family. Poor Edward. His kids aren't even allowed an HRH whereas Andrew's two brats are princesses.

  • actually Edward and Sophie wanted to have a small wedding and for their children not to have HRH

  • What are you talking about? His children were not disallowed the HRH, Edward and Sophie wanted their children styled as the children of an Earl, rather than a Prince. Legally they still have the HRH due to Letters Patent of 1917. They have the right to determine how their children are styled. Furthermore, Edward and Sophie received the titles they wanted. They wanted a more low-key existence.

Do your research before making comments like that. I'm an American and even I know this.

  • @feverspell Prince Edward is expected to receive his father's title when the Duke of Edinburgh dies.

  • @feverspell do u know why princess annes kids have no royal titles by any chance

  • @fleurgi When Princess Anne married Mark Philips, the Queen offered him an earldom, the same as she offered her late sister's husband an earldom. However Mark Philips declined the earldom, meaning any children they had would be born without titles. Had he accepted it, they'd be Lord Peter Philips (or one of his father's subsidiary titles) and Lady Zara Philips. As such, they are members of the royal family as the Queen's grandchildren, but not members of the royal house.

  • @feverspell thank you. so they would never technically be prince and princess is what you are saying or if equal standing to will, harry, beatrice , or eugene

  • It is really a non issue since children take the style and title of the father and Edward was not stripped of his HRH or princely title. His wife is legally HRH The Princess Sophie. His children haven't been deprived of any title since that would take a letters patent issued by the queen. It was simply decided that they would be styled and titled as children of an earl. When their paternal grandfather dies Edward will inherit the dukedom of Edinburgh.

  • Seriously I have to be blunt and say you need to research more before you post. HRH The Countess of Wessex is not Princess Sophie (neither was Diana called HRH The Princess Diana. She was only ever HRH The Princess of Wales). When their paternal Grandfather dies the title will of course pass to the eldest son Charles who in time when he's King can grant to Edward as per the wishes of the Queen.

  • You're 100% correct. I actually know a little bit about this subject. I know that Diana was never 'HRH Princess Diana' because she wasn't born a princess in her own right. I stand corrected.

  • She is not The Princess Sophie. She is The Princess Edward.

  • Prince Edward and Sophie decided not to give their children the title of his/her royal highness for many reasons ... one being that they would be able to have a bit more privacy than their cousins (Princes William and Harry) for example.

  • Lady Louise will be allowed ro claim the title of Princess when she comes of age - there's nothing stopping her, she is of the blood royal.

I agree with the silly "Earl of Wessex" nonsense - it was New Labour's lousy idea.

They should rightly be Prince Edward and Princess Sophie.

  • thank you for posting
