  • Something that helped me a lot is doing a lot of long tones. That is playing a note for a long time and just concentrate on just the sound that you're making and not having to worry about fingerings and reading music. Maybe you do a scale but do it in long tones. Hold the note for as long as you can. Eventually when you get better gradually get louder without going out of tune and then get softer... again, staying in tune. This will teach you even more tone control. Good luck. :)

  • check my vid ^^ i have a few mistakes too :) not everyone is perfect .. listen to my tone and i use a 2 .5 vandoren

  • yeah i did and it does sound better i might just have to do that! yeah i can understand makin mistakes lol

  • glad to help ^^ ive only been playing 4 months lol but ive played percussion for 3 years

  • change to a 2.5 reed .. 3 is horrible for your tone
