  • WHOOOOH!

  • If Marat is God, then Federer is his great great Grandfather

  • this is a court special for helping people. fundation for people in needs is not a court for tournaments. back to light :)

  • @bebrechin

Not true, for years, the Masters was played on singles courts like this, it could still be the case, it just depends on the organizers...

  • unreal

  • ooooOOOOOOOOooooooah

  • oh he got it, WHOOOOW

  • WOOOOAAHH!

  • I love it, 83 people "liked" not being able to see the ball. People are retarded

  • @lureyourkidsinvan This video was uploaded 4 years ago, most videos are poor quality around that period, especially those from 2000, stop being an ignorant arsehole.

  • 10/10 shot but what an effort!!!

  • @Tennisever you call yourself tennisever and yet you have never seen a singles court only? hahahaha

  • What an incredible shot!

  • @Tennisever this is a court only for singles...

  • What's up with the court?

  • If you want to know one of the reasons Marat didn't go further with his career, hit "Safin's rackets" It will demonstrate this talented man's temper. He must of had to bring 30 rackets per match, as he went through em like an chimp on a bunch of bananas! I have this kind of temper playing tennis if I drink a just a beer or two the night before. Marat either drank too much or his temper eventually killed him? When I saw him defeat Pete at Wimbledon, I thought that NO ONE would ever beat Marat.

  • @goofydog2 You obviously don't know much about him if you think his temper was the only thing to hold him back.

  • @goofydog2 and he didn't even defeat Sampras at Wimbledon.

  • ow he got it

    woooow! lol

  • 6'4/6'5? Are you kidding me (as PMac would say). HELLO!

  • He still went on to win 2 Grand slams!!! would have been more for his talent but still great...but like any other Russian he fell into the trappings of success and lost his hunger for the game i.e Sharapova & Kournikova

  • sharapova??? i dont think so

  • look just how young he was! he was a kid at the time...look what time has done with him! but he's always the best!

  • You would expect Nadal to scramble across the court like this, but not Safin. I still remember Safin's interview before the Wimbledon 2008 match against Federer where he said "You have to run like a rabbit all over the court to beat Federer"

  • I've watched hundreds of tennis videos on youtube, but I've never seen a shot that comes close to that one.

  • @KaKui007 /watch?v=gtuf12Uw1dk <------CLOSE, if not better.

  • his "wasted" talent will lead him in the hall of fame with his 2 majors and 2 davis cup titles

    you don't have jack shit!

  • pleased him . but we all know that he could win more with a bit of application..

for me safin = wasted talent because also player like hewitt, johansson, roddick also players like Roddick, Hewitt won the same without the same talent .. Think

  • He's great !!

    <3

  • I second that, he is my god too. I really do believe he is the most talented player on tour, this just shows how beautifully sublime, his talent really is. I love him so much, he is amazing, and not to mention incredibly gorgeous as well ;)

  • Hey, if Safin performed at that insane level throughout the match, I'm sure he would not have only beaten Sampras; he would have beaten anybody who stood across the net. There was almost nothing more Sampras could have done better in that play.

  • Well said. The only thing Sampras could have done better is put his last volley right on the baseline.

Sampras played at this level a few times in his career.

  • That's what I'm saying. Safin played brilliantly in patches. He was not consistent enough to dominate time in and time out like Sampras. Shots like the one in this video are insane, but are like being struck by lightning twice. By the way, that was Sampras' 2nd serve point. Not to shabby.

  • puntazo!

si cuando se pone a jugar, es un mostruo!

  • OMG such a great shot!!!

He's so talented, i love them so much

  • wow...i didnt know he had this kind of agility...he is a beast.... a beast that ROARS

  • he is not God

  • he is MY GOD!!!

  • I've never seen anything like that in my life! The commentators thought the point was over LOL.

  • You should see this is high quality, its just unbeliveble

  • do you have the full match? i want to download it

  • omg safin was so young back then. lol

  • wow

  • From Sampras, and Sampras got it from Lendl.

Lendl's running forehand was famous in his day.

  • Nice running forehand, i wonder where he got that shot from.mmmmmmm

  • what was the point of taking the doubles alley away, it looks horrible if you ask me

  • cause it was a court designed for singles. I think it looks alright, refreshing, different.

  • Its the Master Cup, top 8 singles players only tourney.

    Has always been like that...

  • Not it wasn't. It is changed now, but it wasn't like that back then consistently.

  • My god!! It is beautiful!! I love this court, I hate that they put now the doubles line. I hate it!

  • one of the best shots of all time, period.

  • he played such beautiful tennis!!!Marat I mean. Ofcoure we can't talk how beautful tennis Sampras played, but Marat was unthinkable

  • still plays! i hope kick some baghdatis ass on this years australian open!
