Oh my GOD....that song oooozes sex appeal!! wow...I have to listen again.
Thank you Dad for letting me play with your Desolation Blvd. album cover while you CRANKED Sweet when I was 2!!!!!! These guys are deeply embedded into my soul.
They are in my opinion the most underated group ever to come out of the UK, its a travesty that they didnt get the full recognition they deserved, im sure they would have been at least as big as Queen.
Its a pity some TV company cant put a documentary together about them, there rise to the top and why it all went wrong in the end, i'm sure it would make interesting tv, it would also show some of the youngsters of today what great bands were realy like, not manufactured like today
@TELFORD96 great words i went from sweet to queen, and only through you tube and other thingss on the net, haveing a real good listen to the sweets stuff.
@shaftsbury94 Right on. I've said that myself. I reckon Sweet would have been as big as Queen. Its a tragedy they aren't really. Would have had heaps more singles and albums.
I am now a guy in my mid fifties but followed the sweet from been a sixteen year old, i absolutaly loved this group and their tight harmonies, they realy were the best .
I remember a friend of mine who didnt like them because of their bubble gum pop immage, he was a heavy rocker, so one day i played the sweet fanny adams LP at my house without telling him it was the sweet, after listening to it he said, what a brilliant band , who are they? he almost fell over when i told him,

I am a big Sweet fan but new to some of the old b side songs, whomever commented on them being underrated is "spot on" they should have been up their in the Zepplin heights of rock n roll but different in their style. I wish today's musicians would have a rock n roll textbook to read and learn from to develop their own styles much like school.

Jadranko you are a real Sweet fan. Very loyal - you should be rewarded for your dedication. Love Sweet since I was fourteen...Thanks so much. RIP darling Brian. And RIP Mick too...
Was one of the albums I still had a long time on vinyl until I bought it on CD to replace it.. loved the sound on vinyl, reminded me of when I was young and Brian was still alive and okay
yes one of my favorite songs on this album... if only they would have continued on this path... who knows.... without brian we all knew... even then...
I've been a fan that long too! And like you I have all their records. They were just getting noticed as I became a teenager, so the Sweet are the soundtrack to my life really.
This was the first LP I owned. Got it as part of one of those "great" Columbia House record club offers. Still sitting in my basement waiting for a new turntabke. Love this cut!
I can't give enough of my lovin' to Brian Connolly , my sweet B C....
Listening to this song, I am inclined to agree with those who feel Queen ripped Sweet off completely...a lot of the material on A Day at the Races is similar to this.... such a shame Sweet were sidelined... it's not easy to say this as I have always liked Freddie Mercury.
their best record, no doubt. Mick Tucker - great drummer (way underrated) with a steady & powerful drive, too sad he doesnt have a drummerworld page which is not fair IMO
sweet an amazing group of guys true rockers from the seventies who partied hard banged hundreds of groupies and then some and blew most of their money but hey thats what being a rock star is all about.
Indeed, Laura Lee is a hidden gem in what is to me, the Mighty SWEET's best album... and certainly my absolute favorite out of my 2,500+ CD collection.
my mum got me into sweet when I was just a child she took me to see them when i was 8,had every album and never looked back even saw them again when i was a lot older at a 70's revival in scarborough and now im 44 lol, so sad Brian died he was so talented, all the best die young but never forgotten xx
Where did you see them? Do you remember anything from the gig? I went to a concert in Stockholm when I was 8 (1974)but sadly I don't remember that much.
Brians true voice is breath taking. You are right about Phil Wainman, the man really cared about Sweet but Chinn and Chapman pushed him out of the picture, its a shame. One can only wonder the heights Sweet would have gone,so many tragedies with this band that was over flowing with talent.Great song. Thanks

One of the most beautiful "slow" songs from Sweet. Brians Voice: Fantastic!
Guitar: unbelieveable!
Sweet was, is and will ever be my most favourite Band! Andy - and now in addition with his "new" Band Steve - keep the spirit alive!!

The Queen did rip The Sweet off, even as far as snatching their producer/engineer Mack after Give Us A Wink.
