  • @DTMvsJDM Both the M3 and Mustang GT are in the low 4 second range. Many tests show the GT's 0-60 at 4.1-5.0. Some even manage to get the Boss Mustang under 4 seconds. The range for the M3 is around 3.9-4.9 seconds. Its really hard to tell when it all depends under the driver and where the numbers came from. Both cars are great. The M3 is better stock but the new Mustang can overtake it with very few modifications.

  • The M3 driver is not a very good driver you can tell from the begining.Rolling start the Ford Mustache had the advantage cause of the displacement.From a solid stop start to finish quarter mile the M3 would burn the Mustache sorry to say.Sloppy suspension,sloppy traction with a large engine is not a good racing car on any level.Hence why all or most American cars turn and have been to Japanese engines and German chassis,suspension and tuning for a good long time.

  • @hflores2011 Uh....the 5.0 Mustang GT's are dead even with the m3 E92's around any track, and the Boss 302's kill m3's. Both Mustangs cost what, at least $20k LESS than the m3? Not talking shit about the m3 but any late-model 5.0 mustang is better performance for the money, not to mention half the people that buy them are supercharging them and getting 550+ horsepower at the wheels on VERY low boost.

  • @hflores2011 I guessing you never read the stats of the new mustangs. These 2011+ mustangs are fast in both the straight line and cornering. Just stock alone, it will do 0-60 in the low 4s and pull about ~.95g on the skidpad which is very impressive. Considering it is also cheaper than the M3, modders like Roush and Saleen can push those numbers even higher and still not beat the M3's price. The M3 is the awesome but it can never beat the new mustang on a fun per dollar basis.

    New m3 is a slow 4.0 v8. The older m3 would give the 5.0 a better challenge with its higher rpm but would still loose against the 5.0 stang of course. bmw has its M performance division basically putting a luxury daily European driver with a high performance engine in it and tightening the suspension that is it. Mustang is built from the ground up to be ALL ENGINE no exceptions. Its the next best thing to driving a race car on the main street, best of all its legal!

  • @SDkawi6 The Boss 302 beat the "E90 M3"... there's 3 different versions of the E9X generation M3. The E90, which is a 4-door "saloon". E92, which is the coupe also the lightest of the 3 versions. And the E93, which is the convertible 2-door. And all the red neck 'stang boys are so happy about beating the M3 for grannies LMFAO I'd love to see the 302 Laguna Seca take the E92 GTS around a track. It will never happen, the GTS would walk the 302. Thank you for being one of the few who see the light!

  • my dad had a fox body 5.0 when he was my age. fatass cowl hood and it was super charged. he wanted me to get a 5.0 but i was stubborn and wanted a Subaru. i have no regrets. but it would have been cool to have the same car. haha. i really like the new 5.0's though. but i have other uses than just mobbing. i go snowboarding a lot. a mustang would be a shit out of luck in the snow.

  • Ok many people are getting confused about the "handling" between these two cars. Does the M3 handle better? Yes. Does it put down faster lap times? No. These cars are within milliseconds of each other and it ultimately comes down to the driver. A great example is a corvette Zr1 and GT-R. The GT-R handles much better than the corvette but the corvette puts down a faster lap time. A car can feel like it handles on rails but can lack the actual timed performance numbers.

  • Yeah but the M3 still handles better. Gotta say, I've driven both and for an everyday driver I'd take the M3 but if I were going into a STOCK race I'd take the stang.

Anybody with sense would know the car got to be able to put all that down. we all know the zl1 did, but will the gt500??? the zl1 has a lot more technology in the suspension and the gt500 is known for not being able to put all that power down. Ford already ran the gt500 on the Nurburgring, so either it did a better time then the zl1 and are waiting for the right time to release or it couldn't beat the zl1 time. Either way they both rule!

  • @BLACKMAMBA52588 No car will ever be able to put down the same amount of horsepower it has at it's crank. There is parasitic loss no matter how much technology you have. Sure the loss percentage is a lot more for the GT500 but the fact that it weighs 300 lbs less and has 70 more horses is significant. The suspension for the GT500 is a small problem compared to the shitty tires Shelby puts on them.. Absolutely no traction until third.

U r right about the shitty tires. If the gt500 can put the power down, it should definitely out the zl1...Can't wait for the #s

    I think it's for all the GT models. The anv. package just has some cosmetic mods. Emblems, seats, speakers, wheels, stripes. I doubt it would have another HP bump. They haven't done that before. It also has paddle shifting. And I'm hearing that for the 2015 Ford is making the Mustang on a global platform. Weighing a few hundred pounds less and with IRS. They might use IRS for 2014 I don't know yet.

    2013 Shelby Super Snake is supposedly going to have ~1000 HP.

  • @8xxABHIxx8 why not just settle for a low mileage 5.0 because they could be got for around $25k? Even that v6 is quick & with the bama tune and full bolt-ons its a fcking beast. The new v6 Chally aint bad either with the 3.06 gears. I really want a 2012 Maro 2ss/Rs blk on blk or Inferno on Inferno with white Rallys. keep it N/A & Get full bolt-ons, Pedderize it and it'll be able to best a Z06 around the track.

The V6 weighs as much as a GT500 with like 300 horses and 260 torque. I bet I can beat that with my 214whp V6 lol. Dodge needs to revamp the Challengers and make a new platform for them instead of using the same platform as the Chargers.

  • @BLACKMAMBA52588 I've driven the V6 Camaro and I own a V6 Mustang. I've never driven a Challenger. Just the weight seems like such a turn off. It doesn't even have enough torque to make it feel good at least. Probably feels like driving an Impala. Being in the Camaro wasn't really comfortable. I'm 6'0 and I just felt so cramped. The 'Stang is nice because I can get in and out pretty easily and my head doesn't hit the roof when I'm inside. Lol.

    No no no I said I didn't drive the Challenger lol. Being able to buy 412 horses for a base price of $30k nowadays is unheard of. And yea, they have a shit ton of aftermarket parts but not so much for the Challenger though. It's understandable because it's not that popular. The 5.0 also has a FR624 TS SC for like $6k. So, for around $36k you have a brand new 5.0 with 624 crank horses. That's what I'm doing for mine. Having the dealer install the SC before I buy.

  • @18vwT Corvette is a Lemans legend, the Ford Escort.. is a rally favorite, the Ford GT won 4 consecutive race series, I believe beating European competition, when it originally came out. Shelby motors is causing Bugatti engineers nightmares, because it is right on their "6", coming out with cars of better or like performance for a fraction of the cost.

I'm not gonna argue with you on that. those cars are insane in more ways than 25, anyone can build a car to beet them in a straight line but when it comes to endurance and reliability, forget it, no production car will ever keep up with that

If so, you should know that the 1986 Mustang SVO produced 205 horsepower. This car was quite comparable (power-wise) to "any V8" back then. Keep in mind we're talking over 20 years ago.

You are saying move it up to m5 m6 status? You sir are sadly mistaken on how car classes work. The m5 is a big heavy 4 door sedan..the m6 is more of the mustangs league then...no, it has a v12 because tiny v8's and turbo v6s have no torque and aren't reliable. You know why more people drive mustangs? they last.

Mustangs for sale less than BMW, Europe is much more than the U.S. and people there are more than in the U.S., this Mustang can not drive the increased amounts of people than the BMW. You forget that Russia alone, far more than the U.S. and there just to buy 95% more than all U.S. BMW cars put together. The U.S. sold more than U.S. Japanese cars, they just say Toyota Camry the best American car, and living with the delusion ... V8 is better than V12...

  • That was also the 5.0 with the 6 speed auto. I was in one a few months ago and man it is surprisingly fast. 93 octane tune and transmission tune and they run mid 12s with no problems.
