  • I Love this!!! The Stone Roses!!!

  • and with that m'lud i say it again ... 'In 2006 they only had 240p'

  • The Second Coming is fucking killer. One of the most underrated records of the last 20 years.

  • I got my tickets!!!! At last!! I am 24 and I hoped for this day to cmoe to see teh Stone Roses for the first time ever! I was dreaming for the moment of the "Third Coming". I was quite gutted in 1996 where they parted company but I do havethe privilege of attending a total of 10 Ian Brown/UNKLE gigs.

  • they need to do the second coming justice at manchester next year and shut the fuckin critics up once and for all - epic way ahead of its time tune - squire should get an award for guitar hes a genius

  • and they return - excellent - ive been waiting a while

  • Arcade Fire picked up the torch that the Stone Roses let slip from their grasp.

  • How come all the Stone Roses involve some sort of dancing? lol

  • One of the most surreal experiences I've ever experienced. But awesome!

  • oldmangimp is right ... most underatted record of all time !!! IMFO

  • 0:35 - 0:37 Damn... this is from the video of Queen's Innuendo.

  • 2right MONKIEOO V.This is a fucking cracking album, yeah the purests may say it's jazz but fuck me you'l never get a better swan song by any band than this. What it does prove is how technically brilliant thay all were from the start.Great rythm, brilliant melody, awesome lyrics. How anyone can criticise this album is lost on me.I've lost count how many times I've drunk myself2sleep to this mammoth beast.Ian Brown continues albeit smoother...grow with it...the vibes just the same.Long live the North!

  • dance man

  • JAPANESE ROCK BAND [SAVAN] ANSWER FOR 90'S UK ROCK AND STONE ROSES'S I WANA BE ADORED

    FIND [SAVAN JOURNEY] on YOUTUBE

  • This album is a classic case of an album that was ahead of it's time. That's why it got slated.

  • fuck U2!!! shut up twat

  • Critics dont matter anyway, only your own opinion & ears count as to wether something sounds good or not..........

  • I loved the second coming album truely awesome stuff as always long live ~Ian Brown F*** BizzOasis F*** The Eyebrow Brothers...

  • watch?v=46CNp89_52Y

  • who is the black guy playing drum? want to know his name. he is just awesome..

  • @killyokoluvpaul the black drummer in the video is the replacement for the real drummer of the band, who left shortly before the release of this song, the drummer you are looking for is the legend lknown as reni

  • tune

  • Liam Gallagher was awesome on the stone roses. Why did he become a fag and joined oasis?

  • @lucaslmgv Are u a retard? Have u never heard of Ian Brown!

  • @libertine56

    No, who is this?

  • @lucaslmgv I know you're just trying to get an angry response from a Stone Roses fan, seriously mate? All Liam Gallagher is, is a fan and only a fan. You happy now.

  • @gnarkal

    Pretty happy. \o

  • @lucaslmgv It is offensive but i have to accept that what you said is quite funny.

  • @killyokoluvpaul

Yep. I was laughing my ass out as people were getting all pissed of.

  • omg they missed out that awesome first 10 seconds at the start, i felt that first 10 seconds makes the song

  • "Im Belling you"

    0_0

  • Heavenly classic ! !

  • Reni is the best british drummer since the moon and bonham

  • @robertofarlos sadly hes MIA

  • johnny im irish and i couldnt agree with u more bono is a cringey fuckin embarresment that wont fuck off they shud have packed it in years ago , to bring them up with the stone roses is a sin, we need more proper drug taking bands like the stone roses with proper sound lads who are in2 football and just want 2 be real not sell out. unlike u2 who try and save the fuckin rainforest, bunch of overratted pricks

  • i cant understand why people slated second coming, its the dogs!!!

  • @viagaldi I concur profusely!

  • @viagaldi It gets slated because the bands sound was changing as time went as bands do - it was a far cry from the genius early stuff and the soft sound and groove. It was too raw and offended many fans cos no one likes change, i see for what it is - a superb album but a good one to leave on for the band to protect the legacy. John was turning into jimmy page too much on this album.

If this was a new bands first album it would be hailed genius as it was it just found itself in hard company

  • Reni was so good that even his drum-loops are scary. All of them have a great groove. Nobody better. Only Zachary Alford runs him close.

  • The song "mofo", recorded by U2 in the 97' album "POP" carried very mmmm "elements" of this song.

Thinking better, the whole cd as well

  • Kind of reminds me of a 90's, "How Soon Is Now?" With all the layering and John's tremolo effect.

  • Wonderful song and great footage.

  • I love this video. It rules. But British strippers with masks, no thanks, ha ha.

  • If I could watch the Roses perform 1 song in their heyday, it'd be begging you.

    Absolute Pandamonium.

  • Agreed. :) Begging You is probably their most intense song. I love it.

  • I'm a huge Roses-fan but this video is utter rubbish

  • Very true. Also--- Fuck Robbie Maddix, or whatever that black geezer's name is. Give me Reni or GTFO.

  • i am a huge roses fan yet i would actualy prefer if they never reformed, because it could be awful. better to remember them as the excellant band they were

  • @mileyoreilly07 , i think the live side of things would be excelent , but an album could tarnish there legend status

  • Very true. I wouldn't want to see Brown/Squire go down the same path that Page/Plant did in the 90's. Let them be. Appreciate the magic guys!

  • The world history of rhythm.

    Decent video

  • coolhand1uke: this shit just cracks me up. Big ol' african masks and all.

  • yeah n here comes take that??????

  • Ian Brown doesn't want to reform the Roses, nor does Squire. Them two should just bury the hatchet and be mates again,no need to reform the Roses. Mani wants to reform and i'm not sure about Reni cos he's more or less a recluse. Where are you Reni?

  • ian brown said he would reform the roses, but the others had to do it for charity

  • its simples as talented as they both are neither one is prepaired to acknoledge the others individual genius!

It happened appreciate that, and as someone put it "let sleepin dogs lie" im just glad for what was!

  • if they don't have a reunion, then they'll get old and regret not doing it when they had the chance to.

  • i think the reason why wont come back together, is because ian and john refuse to let sleeping dogs lie, if you wish. mani and reni seem to be ok with the reunion. i agree with you ed1ss, they do need to the fans what they deserve. men can be so selfish...¬_¬. if they carry on like they are, 20 years later they'll wonder where it went wrong in the first place....(sigh).

  • Frustrating thing is that all former members of this band have said they are willing to reform for a reunion gig at different times. Wish they'd all stop being such faggots about it and give the fans what they deserve.

  • When they split, Ian Brown went solo. Mani played bass for a few different bands, mainly now known for his connection with Primal Scream. John Squire focused more on producing art in the form of paintings/sculptures rather than making music, however has made a few cameo appearances in bands like Oasis. Reni is the only one I've no idea what he's been doing.

  • in a band called The Rub playing guitar trying to get signed. did you not know?

  • That was way back in 2001 - they did some gigs in Manchester and sort of left it at that. Last year Mani said Reni was with a Black Grape member writing songs but nothing's been heard since.

I think Reni will never really bother ever again, unfortunately. Hasn't drummed live since '90, not on a record since '95. It's pretty obvious. Shame - a drummer as good as that...

  • I don't know why the description says 'from the much maligned second album'. After the hype of the first it was just stupid to expect the same thing again. Second Coming is a great record. Wish they would reform and do a tour...man would that be worth seeing.

  • There was no hype from the first album, hype is something that's bigged up and talked about before it even happens. The first album came outa noware like all great debut albums do.

  • @Didgebaba hope you got yer tickets

  • @Didgebaba THEY'VE REFORMED!!! Whu huu!, can't f..king wait to see them in concert!

  • most amazing band EVER,smiths good but stoneroses where best manchester band, and thats saying something

  • weno weno weno

  • Wath a good bass player has this band. If i´m not mistaken, when stone roses got separated, some of them formed a new band with Peter Hook(Ex- bass player of Joy Division and actual bass player of New Order) named Freebass, But i don´t find music of them. Please if you kwnow a song of them give me the name.

  • I wouldn't call the second coming a great album. I would say though, that its a very good album that gets way too much criticism. I often wonder what could've been if they hadn't been in court with Silvertone. I mean they were on a roll with the first record(my favorite album of alltime) and there singles and b-sides. Still the Second Coming has some FANTASTIC moments and its ashaim it all ended how it dead. They could've/should've been the best band ever!!!!

  • This was the coolest band on the planet

  • this song fucking kills it.

instead of discussing whether the debut or the second coming were better, lets just agree that there has never been, and never will be a band as incredible as the stone roses.

this song is epic on an epic level.

  • We are saying that, indirectly. We also know the 90's wouldn't have happened; well, wouldn't have been anywhere what it was if it wern't for the Stone Roses. I believe them to be the best British Band to have come along for the last 30 years.

  • The second comming is a great album. It doesn't get the credit it deserved because like oasis' album 'be here now' it was hyped so much there was no way the Stone Roses could match the second album with the first. Not to mention the Stone Roses were in court for the last three to four years, and the appeal from Silvertone which delayed them another year before they could make tunes again. The Second Comming is great but the first is still the BEST, by far.

  • I agree to a certain extent, i don't think it's a great album. You are a rite that it would have been impossible to live up to the 1st album (which is still my fave eva album). I think the delay also hindered them. Also Mani has gone on record saying they went into the studio without the tunes, hoping to record as they went on which didn't work.

  • would've definitely suited a fight scene from the matrix or kill bill!

  • As brilliant as the first album is I still think this is their best song. This track is an adrenalin rush masterpiece. It deserves an amazing fight scene in a slick intelligent action movie.

  • Tatantino should take note...I've got babe, car, blood, guns, babe again, blood, end.

  • at the end of the day second coming in itself is a brilliant album. the reason its slated so much is because the first album was so unbelievable , nothing could ever compare. just like oasis with there firt 2 albums, which were brilliant, everything they made after gets slated cos there not as good, even tho in themselves their brilliant. once you make an album as amazing as the first roses album, everything after is slated. listen to second coming, amazinf album in itself

  • this video is so buggy

  • This one sounds like rob zombie haha aesome

  • ballshit Mr handyman (Proficience) who said this is average fuk me your a cunt fuk of back to your fucked up blood clatt.

This tracks the fuking bizz you tossa

  • dance, baby, dance. Makes you wanna sway and rock at the same time. Love it.

  • This is deffo up there with the rest of their work. Who at the time when this came out was making a tunes like this? No one imo.

You shud check out the remixes which featured on the single LP, some good ones.

  • tune!

  • Class beat.

    Second Coming is under rated

  • this could pass as rave.......

  • i know, but even better than rave...some talent and creativity is actually put into it

  • Pretty average compared to their earlier stuff...sound more like Ian Browns solo stuff. 1st album = best album ever!

  • Hmmm U2 must have heard this lol

    Discoteque anyone?

  • yep - you're right

  • Only tune of theirs i ever got into ,that said it's one of the choppiest i ever heard.

  • I think it's shit and they're my favourite band in the world. Anyone who thinks this is better than the genius of Waterfall is a Grade A cunt.

  • did squire and brown write this song together??

  • fookin legends!! and will stay that way.. no reunion happenin!

  • CoMe On Fuckin' Madchesters!!!

    Cheers!!

  • Best English indie band ever. Always will be.

  • Pure Genius * * * * * !!!!

  • BIBI E LUDACA

  • Such a great, great tune! And cool video too :-D

Can't help but loving the Roses

  • yeah!

  • This video (and in some ways this song) is like the missing link between 1st time-around Roses and second coming. They even look almost identical as they did in '88-'90!(Obviously except that Robbie's drumming in this).Mani with his pony tail and big t-shirt and Ian with his short Beatles style do and big colourful t-shirt.Allegedly reforming in spring '09...we shall see...

  • I think they would only reform if they needed the cash, every couple of years these rumours appear.

Mind if they did reform I would go and watch them, I would pay a decent amount too.

  • they are reforming and are re releasing their 1st album

  • Their 1st album is owned by Silvertone so the record company will look to make as much cash as possible from the 20th anniversary. The Roses would not be releasing the album themselves.

I doubt Ian Brown needs the cash, Mani is already in a huge band, John Squire makes more money from one painting then he ever did as one of the Roses and I guess Reni keeps his hand in.

Always rumours they will reform and it always comes to nothing.

Be wonderful however if they suprised me!

  • i read on msn uk that ian brown had signed a contract that all of the other members had already signed, to do a tour and re release the album

  • Ah I see, it would be wonderful, I am from Manchester and am 38 so was the right age when they were 1st out

Silvertone own the record so even if the Roses were to sanction its release they would not get much cash (remember they threw paint over the offices and cars of a record company? That was Silvertone).

A lot of the big Festival line ups are already being booked, can't see em doing Leeds/Reading, and they let down Glastonbury in 95.

I want them to reform but I just can't see it.

  • no it was fm revoler that they threw paint over

  • Yep, of course, memory clouds with age. Thanks for puitting the smartarse right, friend!

  • It's not happening. Good. It would be crap. Leave the memories of their genius in '89 and '90.

And they didn't throw paint on the Silvertone offices. It was the company who produced their first sngle, Sally Cinnamon, in Wolverhampton.

  • Yep I realise I was wrong with the paint reference, thanks to everyone for pointing that out.

Seems the rumours of reforming come along periodically (20th anniversary this year for example) and then fall away.

Agree with you chap, let it remain in the past and just enjoy it.

  • @Waterfall64 They should've BOMBED bloody Silvertone.

  • Very fuckin nice 6 on yr vid!

  • The written word is a lie.

  • U2 doesn't suck. They're just heavilly overrated. The Stone Roses were absolutely amazing and virtually unnoticed Stateside making them one of the most underrated bands ever. True, I think the Roses were a million times better than U2 ever was, but to say U2 sucks is kind of unfair.

  • U2 are fucking wank and have not done a decent album since the Joshua Tree

  • That maybe true, but everything they did up to and including was pretty damn good! I personally liked 'All That You Can't Leave Behind', but I would also be the first to agree that they have outstayed their welcome. I'm just saying to simply say "U2 Sucks..." is kind of silly.

  • Ahh Mozzer (Charming Man ? :P ) such restraint !

I can tell you one thing about U2 , take the digital delay from Edge and there no longer are any guitar lines .

    True story !

  • You can't listen to everything that twat Bill Bailey says.

  • @jonnyjizz ah now, achtung baby was a great album. and they've had some great singles since that album. comparing u2 and stone roses is just stupid. like both bands for what they are

  • @jonnyjizz joshua tree and before were good tho

  • @jonnyjizz

With or without you. Their only good song. And it doesn't even come close to Stone Roses.

  • @lucaslmgv

    I agree.

  • @jonnyjizz TRUE, BUT I'D LIKE TO SAY JOSHUA TREE AND RATTLE AND HUM ARE TRUELY FOOKIN MASTERPIECES

  • Top draw track

  • Yes U2 suck , but the rest ?

You're just a cock , admit this to yourself and then you may heal with therapy .

Did I mention you are a cock ?

  • You're just angry because its the truth and you don't want to accept it...

  • if its the truth then surely there must be a reason as to why they suck

  • Too true...U2 suck a tonne of ass!!! Im Irish and I cant stand that bunch of idiot Primadonna's. I wouldnt listen to that bunch of talentless assholes if youo paid me. The Stone Roses were Gods....The Manic Manc music machine!! :o)

  • lovely alliteration there fella..."The Manic Manc music machine"... may steal that meself.

  • u2 and the roses don't belong in the same sentence

    ian brown is god!

  • I totally agree. U2 suck. Ian Brown godlike genius!

  • How can u just listen to this song and say Ian Brown is a godlike genius. Can't u see that John Squire is the genius?

  • when music finds its way back to the working class again.. this is what its gonna sound like.

  • u2 sucks a fat cock roses are primo

  • 最高にカッコいい!

  • If U2 were playing in my back garden id shut the fuckin curtains!!

    Long live the Roses!!

  • Brown is the godlike genius.

  • Kaliber 44 used a sample from this song. It sounds brilliant

  • u2 ?????? just fuck off, the roses are gods

  • The Roses set out to destroy the likes of U2 and Simple Minds and in a way they did coz Bongo and the Dredge jumped on the Roses Rock/Indie/Funk/Dance vibe as soon as it crossed over to the mainstream. Case Closed!!

  • u2 schmoo2. they're crap. the roses are mint. check out my tasteful beggin you video.

    enjoy!!

  • I'M SORRY... U2?????

    LEAVE TOWN NOW.

  • U2 have got nufink on the roses

  • I don´t get it. Someone is saying U2´s "Discotheque" from the album "Pop" (released 1997) sounds like this song which would mean U2 stoled material from Stone Roses? Gimme a break!

Only connecting thing between these two songs is their music videos.

  • zoogarten you such a toss haha.

U2 actually said themselves that for the pop ulbum they listened to stacks of other artists material. I not saying it sounds like but there is a sound that is similar.

It has nothing to do with stealing material, it is about getting ideas from it.

  • I´ve got news for you: you´re an idiot. :)

I was talking about people who are saying U2 stoled material from other artists.

  • ml8ml8: Can you read? If you can then read the next sentence I wrote:

"I was talking about people who are saying U2 stoled material from other artists."

  • The WordYoor Looking For Is 'Stolen' not Stoled

  • the word YOU'RE looking for is "you're"

  • That Was Intentional,

    Thanks Anyway Chick

  • Sounds nothing like U2's discotheque

  • Does anyone no where I can find the ' Mr Ben' version of this video.???????

  • Must say like ot more than Discotheque

  • Some of Discotheque sounds like Begging You, but Begging you is better. U2 proberly heard this, liked it and thought..'we could do someting like this'.

  • You guys think U2 ripped them off with Discotheque?

  • Yeh your right. The Roses couldn't win, I was personally glad they made a different album to the first cos is shows they weren't the sort of band to rest on their laurals

  • the second coming only got slated cause it wasn't the same as the the stone roses.... if they'd done the same it would have got slated.... welcome to england....

  • second coming sounds alot like ian brown solo songs

  • Pointless shit video that makes no sense!

Amazing song by an amazing band from 2 amazing decades with 2 amazing albums!

Gotta love The Stone Roses ♥

  • Great tune... interesting vid...

I'll never see Ian Brown in quite the same way again.

  • I think the second album was too late, the direction they moved in was lost due to that 4 year gap and the moment for the second had passed, still a great record; and the second album for most groups is always the tricky album, the 3rd is normally a groups masterpiece and had they stuck together brown, squire, mani & reni then this 3rd album would have eclipsed everything else at the time!

  • Love the Stone Roses . . . Second COming was my favorite.

  • 1:05 such an awesome musical interlude. No drums, no singing, just Squire showing the world that he is the best guitarist of all time!

  • I think this is an amazing tune, listen carefully and you'll get it

  • just to point out to gutarskater11 that love spreads has never been from the 1st album, its off second coming their last album!

  • He never said they weren't from 2nd Coming, mate. He said they sounded like songs from the first. They don't, obviously but he obviously thinks they do.

  • crimson tonight was just an ep of 5 live tracks palyed in ireland

  • apart from 'Crimson Tonight' is this the last roses single?

  • Same here, mate.

Least favourite song, least favourite video.

  • There's some right fucking idiots on YouTube mate. I really don't know why people have given you so many thumbs down. It's pathetic that they can get so angry about another persons opinion, no matter how valid it is. You even apologised for your opinion (not that there was any need to).

Anyway, I must say, you are completely wrong about those songs sounding like something from the first album. They were a completely different direction.
