I faced my fears and watched the movie, and it was great! It wasn't that horrible untill the end when you see how ignorant and delusional the mother really is. But I wonder why someone would say that girls are precious? As I recall it men have been born into just the same, if not worst broken homes filled with ignorance, inbreed incest than the Precious portrayed in the movie. The movie was phenominal. I am a skeptic of Tyler Perry and I do not like his movies BUT Precious was the movie to see. I would give it 5STARS. Monique was amazing in this movie. I began to fear her and hate. Precious was the perfect protagonist. I loved her, worried for her, and wanted to help her. Watching her speak on Ellen's Show I was taken back on who she is outside her character. She worked that part!!! Watch out for the big girls!!! Get that!!!!!

Mo'Nique should be nominated for best supporting actress because she would have a better shot of winning the category. It worked for Jennifer Hudson, she could have been nominated for best actress for Dreamgirls but she wouldn't have won the award. I haven't decided whether or not to see the movie. It's not in my area yet. I read the book Push years ago and it was such a difficult book to get through. It made you just want to climb into the pages of the book and help/rescue her. I don't know if I could take the visuals on screen. We'll see. It is good to know that the movie does the book justice.
