@theforestdeep I feel sorry for you. A child's imagination is amazing. Truth is I wish I could go back to when I was a kid just so I would be so easily entertained. Not poisioned. I pity your views
The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe is the 1st in a 7 book series called THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA written by C.S. Lewis. The first printing dates back I believe to the 1930s. This was the first book I ever read. I later bought the entire series. Lewis'writing has always been accepted as christian in nature - however, from an athiest perspective I would say that is something one could super-impose if so desired, yet not absolute and does not detract from the enjoyment of the stories themselves
Great movie. Greater story (I used to read the whole collection of 7 books to my kids at bedtime once a year. Of course, about time you get done, it's time to start again. Not really. But even if, the time was worth it. The stories are great. Too bad they couldn't have timed getting all the movies done on time, in order, like they did Harry Potter. But CS Lewis stories here much better, & they tell the wondrous story of salvation. Thanx. Audio is very low but you just have to listen better! :-)
@TheSkullkid619 the Chronicles of Narnia were a book series long before they were movies. I love the Silver Chair, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Horse and His Boy, and the Last Battle.
@vertizontaal Because the books are basically deceptive Christian propaganda and Christianity is poisonous superstition. Like Darwinism. Read the Seth Material.
@TheForestdeep Calling the Chronicals of Narnia "deceptive Christian propaganda" goes a bit far. It's hardly deceptive; the books are allegories for biblical stories. I rejected the Christian religion several years ago, but I still read the CoN. They're damn good books; demonizing them because they're based off Christian mythology is stupid.
@RainxDog If the Christian beliefs are harmless, then why are they, as a group, the worst mass murderers the world has ever seen? Just for starters. How many cultures have they destroyed?....The list goes on. Christianity is poison. The fact that the books are well-written is irrelevant. A fine blade thrust with style and surgical accuracy into someone's heart, is still murder.
@TheForestdeep I never said that Christian beliefs are harmless. I said demonizing the books because they were inspired by Christian mythology is stupid. If you don't have the psychological integrity to read a book and not be "poisoned" by it's contents, then your composed of the sorriest moral fiber I've ever come across.
@RainxDog These are considered children's books, and children, as a rule, do not have the psychological integrity to read a book and not be poisoned by its contents.
@TheForestdeep Maybe in some cases, but generally speaking a child would neither see nor comprehend symbolism within the book unless it was explained to them by an adult; at which point it would be the adult corrupting the child, and not the literature. An individual old enough to spot the symbolism for themselves should be old enough to analyze it also.
That laugh in the beginning scared the crap outta me!!!
