I've flown this new business class on the 777 on the ORD-DEL route. Its not a true lie flat seat like the guy says on here. Its an angled seat so it makes it harder to sleep on it. Every now & then, I felt as if I was sliding off the seat as I was sleeping which can be irritating. I guess its an OK seat according to American Carrier standards but poor according to International standards such as Qatar, Singapore, Emirates , Qantas etc.
They're like: "This is so amazing! People look at our awesome seat!"
and Singapore's like:
"Yeah. Your seat's cool, but ours is a 30 inch wide lie flat bed. And its got a 15.4 inch TV. And our flight attendants smile at you. Sorry, bro, but we got you beat this time."
Why aren't these seats used in the 8 hr long LAX-SJU flights, but are used in the 6 hr LAX-MIA flights. Smacks of discrimination, as if SJU is a second-rate market!

British Airways Business and First Class all the way. Lufti is 2nd, I fly AA to Ohare from Heathrow in 2 weeks in Business and from what i hear, its no where near BA business where you walk around the person next to you, not climb over top of them .... Americans need to get their shit together and learn customer service, not customer servitude.
@VibrationPack even inter-European flights on Lufthansa yield the same equipment as a domestic US flight. Lufti's 737s are held together with duct tape and gum.
I've flown between the USA and Germany on both AA and LH and my experience was far more enjoyable on American.
@krispykreme82603 Once upon a time.... as all fairy tales start up...there were airlines that took pride in themselves, aircraft were clean, stewardesses (yes that's what they were called) were friendly and greeted you with a smile, luggage was free, food was edible and drinks free, and the service was on time. There were even first class dining rooms upstairs in Pan Am 747's with a steward in a white dinner jacket and fresh flowers, those were the days. Lovely memories.
@chloe7829 I'm sure American and United And Delta would love to offer white glove service, and upstairs dining rooms, and the works. The only downside is they would be out of business in a year.
I'm sure it was easy to afford to be able to provide that kind of service when fuel was a dime a gallon, but now that airlines are paying quadruple what fuel cost even a few years ago at some airports, like any other business, there had to be some sacrifices.

I like first-class better; it's has like every business class doesn't. The US based airlines are dreadful when compared to the Asian and European airlines. Ancient aircraft and cheap and nasty service / products. That's why all the major American based airlines are only rated 3 out of 5 stars by Skytrax whereas most of the Asian and European airlines are 4 stars or more.

Shocking! This looks more like an electrically operated economy class (coach) seat! Only nice thing about it is the large tray table... That's about it. These guys have a lot of catching up to do!
This looks awful. This is clearly not a lie-flat seat as the recline is not 180°. In fact it looks like the ski-slope seat that it is, is even worse than Lufthansa and Air France. There is clearly less space and the big black guy in the film looks miserable. Thanks for showing this so I can avoid it!

It would seem groundbreaking, but the Asian carriers have been using such seats for nearly 5 or more years, and what they are using today makes even this seating technology look almost out of date. Still nice to see an upgrade in American cabins though.
Whatever you do, DON'T fly American for business class. Theese engineers came up with the most uncomfortable business class seat EVER. They should be forced to fly for eternity in these seats as a punishment! Get a window seat and you are trapped in your seat. You cannot get out!!! I had a miserable 8.5 hour flight on this piece of engineering crap.

It isn't even 180 degrees flat! This is a horrible product to be new as it is something I would expect from airlines 7 years ago when this technology started rolling out for premium cabin seats.

Looks quite nice in my opinion, but I think Club World (Business Class) on BA is a much better product overall, and they are around the same price range on most routes.
The simple fact is that AA can't compare or compete to other airlines business class. I will continue to fly with BA or Air France.
And for the people who say that BA "are crap" well BA or Air France where the only airlines in the world that could afford to run a supersonic aircraft such as concord, so that really does sum it up idiots.

as a frequent flyer, i can tell you that american carriers in general are crap. if you compare them to Asian carriers they are just pathetic. (you can have a look at the latest singapore business on my site) and even compared to European carriers, they are just plain bad. AA is probably amongst the baddest.
A detachable IFE looks cumbersome. Take a look at SQ's IFE in business.. now that is quality! Not only do you have a large screen, it's IFE also has MS Office built in so all you need is you USB flash drive! I always think that US carriers are a bit behind the times compaered to Europena and Asia/Pacific carries.
Apart from United (who don't advertise it as premium ecoconmy anymore) are there any other US airlines that have a premium economy product?
By the way, the FA Julie is so sick that he/she actually believes she is me. She/he claims she/he is part of a larger community and has identified herself as a gang stalker. The weirdest airline crew I ever came across.
Yes, AA provides bad service while tooting its own horn to portray a golden image. There is a crew on this line that everyone should run from--the hermaphadite crew. I only know this because I flew a couple of years ago and one of the FAs hung on to me after the flight for about two years. Julie stalked me and is still stalking me. Unfortunately, one day, she/he lifted her skirt revealing that she is a true hermaphadite meaning she has a penis, scrotum and a vagina. Not a pleasant sight.

Generally, Euro and Asian carriers have a much more modern fleet and offer a much better product.

It would seem groundbreaking, but the Asian carriers have been using such seats for nearly 5 or more years, and what they are using today makes even this seating technology look almost out of date. Still nice to see an upgrade in American cabins though.

Whatever you do, DON'T fly American for business class. Theese engineers came up with the most uncomfortable business class seat EVER. They should be forced to fly for eternity in these seats as a punishment! Get a window seat and you are trapped in your seat. You cannot get out!!! I had a miserable 8.5 hour flight on this piece of engineering crap.

AA sucks for domestic US travel, but there businees class for international flights is really good. Singapore or Thai doesn't fly from US to Europe

All of these posts have gone by and no one has realized that the reason that these seats are not the greatest is because you guys want low fares. It's either better product or lower fares, you can't have both! Another thing that no one has stated is that look at the situation of our economy.
BTW, never had a problem with AA and those seats look rather good although I like NW World Business Class better...

No that is where you are wrong. People use it because often they are cheaper than the competition. Trust me I fly an VERY regularly on many carriers. AA is by far the worst airline I have been on. The only one who could even come close is Alaskan.

Your an uneducated coffee server. Under the anti-terrorism laws 9/11 was never supposed to happen, but it did. As for the word, Stews honey, I have had a run in with a couple of AA broads and that is what I refer to them as. I am not encompassing the entire industry. I usually say FAs. I have known pilots and believe me grabbing ass is what a lot of them do. You are lucky if they don't bother you.

American is great because its cheap, but by god the service is really not that great.
My favorites are British Airways, Singapore and Emirates..... notice all are way expensive though. I guess with air travel you get what you pay for.

The simple fact is that AA can't compare or compete to other airlines business class. I will continue to fly with BA or Air France.
And for the people who say that BA "are crap" well BA or Air France where the only airlines in the world that could afford to run a supersonic aircraft such as concord, so that really does sum it up idiots.

as a frequent flyer, i can tell you that american carriers in general are crap. if you compare them to Asian carriers they are just pathetic. (you can have a look at the latest singapore business on my site) and even compared to European carriers, they are just plain bad. AA is probably amongst the baddest.

A detachable IFE looks cumbersome. Take a look at SQ's IFE in business.. now that is quality! Not only do you have a large screen, it's IFE also has MS Office built in so all you need is you USB flash drive! I always think that US carriers are a bit behind the times compaered to Europena and Asia/Pacific carries.
Apart from United (who don't advertise it as premium ecoconmy anymore) are there any other US airlines that have a premium economy product?

Yes, AA provides bad service while tooting its own horn to portray a golden image. There is a crew on this line that everyone should run from--the hermaphadite crew. I only know this because I flew a couple of years ago and one of the FAs hung on to me after the flight for about two years. Julie stalked me and is still stalking me. Unfortunately, one day, she/he lifted her skirt revealing that she is a true hermaphadite meaning she has a penis, scrotum and a vagina. Not a pleasant sight.
