born and raised 20 minutes from the stadium, the other side of the Bronx ( the good side ) I can say good riddance. The biggest adventure at Yankee Stadium was making it from the overpriced parking lot to the Stadium without getting mugged. The seats were too small, the PA system was awful, security was weak and there was always a fight in the crowd. Get the wrecking ball there NOW!!

i will miss the old stadium. the fact that it was a little run down and lacked the world class aminities of the new one added to the charm. it was blue collar and tough just like the city of new york. the new stadium is almost too nice. my dad took me there once and i took my girlfriend there in 2005 just after the official announcement that it was coming down. i just wanted her to see the majesty of that place.

The old stadium was a great place, there's no denying it. However, the new stadium is a great combination of both the original and remodled stadiums. It's is a great place. All things must pass. Breaking in the new house with our 27th World Series title was pretty sweet too. Perhaps somebody should blow up Wrigley Field. Maybe then, the Cubs would finally win one too!

Old Yankee stadium sucks.

It was renovated in the seventies and was ruined in the process. I am glad it is gone.

If it had had any of the old charm I say keep it, but it did not.

What I would like to see is a public baseball diamond built over where the old bases used to be, turn it into a park.

It would be great to play a game on the exact spot where all that history took place.

Seeing those photos brings sadness to me. Going there for 25 years and now they are tearing it apart. I went there for the tour last September and they didn't let anyone on the outfield grass. I wanted to get a picture ON THE field...I did however get one on the warning track and on the 3B line where it looked like I was on the field ...I like the new stadium though, been there twice but it's not the same.

Old Yankee Staduim was renovated in the 1970s and that renovation destroyed most of yankee stadiums history. All that history they took from Yankee Stadium technicly made yankke stadeium a modern baseball only ballpark like angel stadium or jacobs field. Like the freinze on the roof the poles that made everyone close and the 296 porch. I hate how mlb now makes it the rule to have your outfield wall at least 300 feet. MLB should bring back the old 260 or 270 feet minuimum.

Let me make it clear. I enjoyed your videos. I feel it was a waste to decommission the old stadium & build a monument to the rich. I simply do not feel welcome in the new stadium. There are protected sections for the rich, very rich, handsome, good looking, well dressed, etc., the real fans like myself simply don't want to pay Broadway rates for a baseball game. Citi-field is not as bad. The amenities &the new monument park "suck" as does the food - sorry. The Devils did it right with the Rock

AND, to make matters worse, 1/2 of the seats are empty (even if they are sold, people are out schmoozing in the hallway or their own little club).

Even as a Red Sox fan, it is no fun having a crappy atmosphere for a game.

Hopefully it improves in the playoffs, which I am looking forward to. :)
