  • I've got the same ped, done pretty much everything to it 50mph+ had it two years and nothing has gone wrong with it! still going strong.

  • I had this when I was 16. There's not really much difference in scooters performance when they're all 50cc 2 stroke. unless liquid / air cooled but the nrg is one of the best to modify.

    And no it worked fine actually, they're designed to run at 30mph+ on the continent, so it was fine.

  • erm i got a technigas exhaust and it was fast untill i got that on and since then it is shit up banks and only goes when it gets past 7 thousand revs but it doesnt lol anyone got any tips??

  • only when your learning, but when your passed you can take them off. in the UK you have to be 16 to ride a scooter and have L plates till youve passed your proper bike test. it sucks!

  • giannelli are the best pipes for this. rest arent worth the bother

  • my one was good, but idont know why gianelli didn't chrome it, as after a month it needed a respray. lazer and HEBO are pretty nice chromed

  • thats the main problem that giannelli dont make chrome reverses.. they tend to look good when kept ontop of.. mines sprayed black at the moment and still looks good..

  • Thats a sweet ride you got there, Iv got an 08 Aerox and my mate has a NRG power like yours, his top speed is currently faster than mine, but mines restricted (not for long :P)

  • not bein mean, u got a nice bike there, the NRG Mc3 are so much more powerful than the power. derestriced the liquid cooled ones go 65mph +!

  • totally agree mate, i would have preferred a Mc3, because they are so quick with just a pipe on them. my friends used to have one, 60-65 all day long! this was mint condition and low miles so i had it. i did put a polini cast 70cc kit, did 60 on the level with 14 stone rider. sound

  • its easy just take off your transmission case and use a air ratchet to take off the bolt (nearest to the seat) and remove the belt there should be a thick metal washer ;), to put back to gether reverse the operation and put a bit of loctite on the variator bolt to keep it in place.

  • Areet . . av jus bought a NRG lc 06 and am getting it derestricted. a aint reely got da muney for a new exhaust to replace the standard 1 and av been told anyways just 2 get the variator derestricted and the stock exhausted derestricted av also heard da can gaan faster like that rather than with a performance exhaust on :O

  • nice purchase mate :D however... standard exhaust redirects used air into the airbox, has a restriction pipe on, catalyctic converter and has smaller diameter = not exactly efficient at shifting exhaust gasses. a purpose made pipe with expansion chamber and silencer will 100% guaranteed improve acceleration and top end speed!

    and with a good make like lazer/ leo Vinci or Hebo (CHROMED!!!) you get all the rollers for the variator. and maybe carburettor jets needed.

  • im not looking for anything fancy like a new exhaust (cant afford em tbh =P), just looking to get my bike from A to B quicker xD

  • well if your not going to get the exhaust derestricted, then dont do anything. it wont do your ped any good if you only have it half derestricted

  • your best to go to a garage to get it done man, because if you have a go, you're likely to bugger it up :D

    but anyway

    1) remove the transmission side cover, on the side with the rear suspension spring.

    2)undo variator with a socket, you have to lock the variator by jamming something in the teeth.

    3)there should be a washer that sits between the two pieces of variator, REMOVE THIS!

    4) this is the main restriction

    5) at this time put on a good quality exhaust, make sure it's chromed!!!

  • 6)Lazer X pro, is perfect exhaust, but about £120 i think it comes with the proper variator roller weights, and carburettor jets that you need to get it set up.

    I'd recommend going to a garage as it's only a 2 hour job, about £60, and you arent worrying about fucking the jetting up, because this will seize your piston if you get it wrong!:D dont expect it to fly, a good 50 - 55 is good if your light.

    i'd advise getting a 70cc kit (like me) later though ;)

  • its a dt mate. does 50 on the level, which aint too bad for a air cooled and im hardly aerodynamic or light :D

    The gianelli's pretty shite though! no other option but to re-spray it about 2 weeks after getting it! was £120 :0! cheers mate!

  • It will say 50 on the clocks, But it will be more around the 45mph mark.

  • the speedo's pretty accurate, it was saying 52 when acutal speed was 50. measured off dad's car speedo

  • well im pretty tall an weigh about 14 stone, but you'd get 50 out of it on the level and no wind. the biggesty speedo reading was 61 down a hill with the wind behind me :D

    1) i'm riding a ped because im 16 (thats too young to drive a car on the road if ya didnt know)

    2) i can still however drive one

    3)i have a YZ125 crosser thats geared and would piss over whatever you've got

    an i aint a bad rider either, cuz ive been on 2 wheels since i was 12!

    and i got my ped derestricted because im 6'2 and it was a little slow!
