  • yeah xDeppOBSESSED... you kind of got owned...

  • not really. im not the one being a bitch.

  • xDeppObsessedx... yeah you lose...

By the way you don't deal with theatre geeks... we always WIN!!!

  • how is there a winner? we were having our own conversation. im not the one being a bitch.

  • nosleepinheaven wins.

  • hahaha the voiceover guy makes me laugh.

the way he says "sweeney" is so...weird...

    "SWEE-NEY's coming..."

  • this movie is one of the best i have ever seen. I am so obsessed with Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp. Everyone acts and sings so well in this movie and the blood just makes the movie that much better. You will cry. It is that good, you will cry.You have to see this movie.

  • Hey yo the violence was awesome, and the movie overall was simply put as AMAZING

although if your not a fan of music every like 5mins dont even bother

  • im really really nervous about the violence, but that's why im going w/ friends ^^;

they might as well have that guy who does all the Disney movie trailers be the voiceover...damn this guy's waaay too happy x.x he must think cannibalism is yummy...

  • What's the song he sings at 15 sec?

  • i am pretty sure the song at 15 seconds is epiphany

  • Thank you

  • Epiphany =]

  • Thank you

  • yup =]

  • I'd see this movie without question if I weren't concerned about the violence.

  • I actually think the singing is what makes it wonderful. The songs are amazing, and it just would not be the same without them. I really hope you won't laugh when you go to see this, because (hopefully!) the songs will be well-done and add to the effect, not detract from it.

  • I'm sorry, but this was a musical first, and it's really a special thing...when it's a musical. The music's not supposed to be a seperate thing, but be right in there with the actor's mannerisms and words...it's supposed to flow. That's why I never think of it as "bursting into song".

  • You're also SUPPOSED to laugh at Sacha's part. It's Pirelli. He's comic relief. That's why they got a comedian for the part.

  • If I hear one more Johnny Depp fangirl squeal about how long they've been waiting for this movie, I'm going to hurt someone. Try all the Sondheim fans who've been waiting for a film adaptation of ANYTHING of his for FOREVER.

  • true that.

  • No kidding.

  • Hear, hear!

  • So absolutely true.

  • It's supposed to be fairly gorey, so think of it this way: when they see their oh-so-dreamy Johnny slitting throats over & over, they'll be grossed out.

  • I was not grossed out at all. Actually, he looked as hot as ever covered in blood. It was an amazing film and everyone did a great job.

  • I agree completely! Way to see I'm definitely not alone!

  • I'm both, and I've got to say I hate the Johnny Depp fangirls who've only seen Pirates of the Caribbean, Secret Window, and maybe Edward Scissorhands, who are looking forward to this. I also love this musical, and I can't wait for this. And I like their other voices too!

  • excuse me but ive been a Johnny Depp admirer for a lonnnngggg time and this is one of his best performances. I've seen a lot more than just 3 movies of his but he's not the only reason why I love the movie Sweeney Todd. Everyone does a great job acting and singing and I love Tim Burten. I'm not just some stupid fan girl.

  • whatever.

  • yeah, I get it. You're a Johnny fangirl, just as I'm a Sondheim fangirl. I often refer to him as God and pray over his Playbills. haha, jk. But seriously, Sweeney Todd's brilliance can best be experienced on stage... check out the tour dates for the revival, I suggest you watch it (you'll enjoy it more, aside from the fact that Depp isn't in it).

  • I actually seriously doubt I will enjoy it more than Burten's brilliant movie. I do not just like the movie because Johnny Depp is in it. I'm not that.....i dunno what the word is.....overly-obsessed, i suppose is the word. Everyone does an unbelievable job. But I think Johnny is officaly the character of Sweeney Todd. Thanks, but I've never been one for plays.

  • Sorry, I guess I just can't really take you seriously if you pass that judgement without even WANTING to see ALL of the Sweeneys before saying that Johnny is the definitive. He isn't. If you had seen all of them and still thought so, then I would respect your decision.

  • Actually, the role of Sweeney itself is difficult to top-- since no one to this day has topped the wonderful George Hearn.

  • listen ok? we both have our own opinions so i think we need to drop this little conversation. it is getting us no where and its really kindergarden of both of us to think we r going to sway each others very different opinions. You ♥ Sondheim and I ♥ Burten and Depp. You think George whats'his'face is THE Sweeney Todd, i think that Johnny Depp is THE Sweeney Todd. The beauty of YouTube is that we each have our own opinions so lets leave it at that.

  • I agree; freedom of opinion. But I think most people should wait until people know what they're talking about when they say anything.

    P.S - It's BURTON.

  • umm if ur talking about me not knowing what im talking about then i really dont understand u and i dont care about a stupid spelling mistake or people that don't make any sense. u have ur opinion and i have mine so just SHUTUP. dont even reply back because this is a waste of fckin time!

  • Grow up. Seriously.

  • by the way, my "grow up" comment was to that deppobsessed chick...

  • Who cares, just leave her alone... From the way she's acting/expressing herself, she's probably like 12... I feel kinda bad now, but it doesn't change my opinion about KNOWING what you're talking about before you say anything...

  • fyi, im 14. i don't understand u or what ur problem is. I KNOW what im talking about but i don't understand why you have to act so bitchy to me. like i said, we r not going to change each others opinions and im was trying to have a normal conversation but u keep on attacking me so i just think we need to stop.

  • you need to stop talking about me like you know me or something. Because you don't know me and you don't know who i am or what i think.

  • i have no idea why yall think i need to grow up.

  • Probably because you're being so offended from something that started off as a mere dissention of opinions. I say Hearn, you say Depp. And then I say "How bout you watch both, and then decide?" You say, "No."

That's closed-minded of you, and juvenile. That's why people are blowing it out of proportion and thinking this is a contest-- it's not. It's advice.

  • OK if given the oppertunity to watch the play ,i would of course go and see it. All I'm saying is that a Tim Burton film with Johnny Depp in it seems hard to top but i will take ur word for it that the play is spectacular. I have no doubt that it is an amazing play with amazing people in it. I really think that we need to end this conversation because it has gotten us no where. agreed?

  • I wasnt quite fond of the play... but im not gona say johnny depp is the greatest singer, cause although he sounded great he did growl a bit in some of his songs. Its funny because the best singer in this movie is probably the most obscure and unknown, Ed sanders I would say sung the best in this movie. (you cannot tell me the tobi from the play is better than this tobi or you sir have a strange opinion lol)

  • Depends on the version. The Toby from the 1979 version isn't everyone's favourite. He's kinda weird, I guess. Manoel Felciano (the Toby from the 2005 revival) is brilliant, unmatched in my opinion. Sanders is great, especially for his age, and I liked their take on the Toby character, but he isn't my fave. He still needs more experience. And different facial expressions.

  • Ok, you can at least agree with me on the fact that Ed was probably the best singer in the entire movie (although I did enjoy everyone's performance immensely)

  • Probably, yeah. Depp and Carter, while fantastic actors, are not singers. But neither is Rickman and he pulled his stuff off rather well. I was really impressed by Cohen. Wisener and Bowers I hated. Kelly wasn't great. Spall was good.

All in all, Ed Sanders gave the best vocal performance.

  • Quite. but what was wrong with bowers? The johanna reprise was quite a fine piece. He has quite a great sounding voice, although Ive never heard the other anthony from the musical. Wisener did sound like sleeping beauty...

  • this movie is going to be so awesome!!!! alan and johnny-my 2 luvers- singing and acting in the same movie will be so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh hell, nobody can possibly know just how crazy I've been for this movie.... one more month!

  • hey threemillionrivets if u think ur crazy for this movie then u need a wake up call because the wait is killing me!!

  • I'm so excited, this film is so cool

  • All I can say is WOW!! I'm SOO excited!

  • That narrator dude makes killing innocent people and gruesome murder and blood seem like a happy walk through a park filled with lilly flowers. :D

  • True, but at least the story has some dark humor to it so it's not entirely misplaced.

  • You have a good point, amesmb ^^

  • that narator sucks

  • I was expecting the narrator to also say "Bring the whole family!"

  • lol

  • me too!

  • ditto

  • This movie will be outstanding. Johnny's preformance has Oscar written all over it! His voice is too amazing to put into words!

  • there's a new tv spot with "a little priest" in it

  • Yes.... I'm trying to get it :)

When I get it I will upload it :)

  • voiceovers always disguise things as a family comedy for some reason. I wish he would pay a visit to Mr.Todd

  • I know, he sounds too happy...

  • Such a happy little movie!! Murder, tons of blood, and cannibalism! Just in time for Christmas! Looks great!

  • I seriously can't breathe now!

  • oooooh, the chillz running up and down my spine!

  • haha, that voice over makes the movie seem a little hearted...lol

I love the new footage though

  • That's two trailers he's spoiled now. What an irritating voice!

  • Love the new TV spot, great!

    Hate the voice-over, sheesh.

  • I agree on the voice-over.
