I loved this game. I should do a playthrough of it sometime. I got past the main concert and all and sorta left it for awhile after playing a few of the mini games you ear throughout the second play of it. It is one of the few games that was inexpensive and was worth it. :)
My favorite part of the game is the total randomness. His thought process was something along the lines of "Let's go perform advanced classical pieces at random" and everyone else is like "HELL YEAH".
I can see why a lot of people wouldn't be fond of this game - you know, because it's not action and lacks in blood/dead people - but I personally enjoyed it a lot; i'd recommend it for anyone who's a fan of rhythm games.
Actually completed the final concert too, being the sad fucker I truly was. Nothing special at the end, for those who never bothered with the final concert, Symphony just gives a speech on how she didn't think you were capable.
My response: Thanks for having faith in me, bitch.
@enchanter1313 that song gave a bunch of trouble after i was able to get the hang of the game. For a while i couldn't even beat the first song because i couldn't get the pressure sensitive button part down
I had only tried the demo forever ago and had 2 songs to play from.
Even still, i knew that this was a great game. Dont have the ps2 anymore, but if/when i get a PS3 i am definitely getting this game. What is it, $2 now? not bad for a good original music game.
@teh2Dgamer it's the best rythm game i've ever played [gitaroo man] the soundtrack is great the controls are easy to pick up but hard to master sort of thing.
this game is the best game EVA i have like one more i guess you'd call it a level to pass then ill have ALL of the songs! =D BUT i am way too lazy to do that last level and ma heart is already content with the songs that i have!
ps: the trumpeter (Bob) is soooo cute and no i didn't make up his name! i have a list of All the characters and you can PM me if you want it! =D
It's hard to explain, but part of it has to do with how hard you press the button, because the Dualshock 2 face buttons are all pressure sensitive. The color of the dot on-screen tells you how hard you have to press the button.
@CamsEyeView You push the x button when the dot gets in the middle of the circle The colr of the circle determines how hard you presh the button button that have stars on them you hold the button down for a few seconds then let go
This is one of my favourite games. Not only is it addicting, but I'm a big fan of classical music. C: I randomly picked it up one day a few years ago, and I got hooked. I abandoned it for a while after I thought I had beaten it, and made the stupid decision of trading it in for 3 dollars at EB Games..... After some time, I missed it, and I bought it back! Now i'm working through Concert Play! More people should play this game!
@usagismile People don't give this game enough credit. It's a tough little game. >_<" I got it from a pal at school who got it from someone else because they were color blind. :c I wish they made this game playable to people who are color blind.
It would definitely not be easier. If the Wii required you to conduct actual beat patterns, forgetting the dynamics, that alone would be harder. Anyone who's in the music profession could tell you the same
Well, I would prefer the Wii since that's the only console I own right now, lol. But I also think it would be best on the wii because I'm still waiting for an actual music game that requires you to conduct
yah that would be cool but still they should make a little easier (or harder XD) it could be called Mad Maestro 2: Revival of Bravo Town! what do you think?
omfg this is the worst game i ever played i bought it for $5 hopin it would be like parappa the rapper and i was dead fuckin wrong fuck this piece of shit
Well if you buy a game in hopes that it will be just like another game, of course you're going to be disappointed. Play it for what it is, and not what it's not.
BTW, if you want a Parappa style game on the PS2, there's always Parappa 2, and Space Channel Five Special Edition.
You have good taste in games I bought this game a long time ago for 8 bucks new at toys r us a long with oni. I was pretty bad at this game at first then I got the hang of it
I'm fan of classical music so that was the reason I bought now i just wish i have my Ps2 and this game so i can relive this true gem
I'll eventually work my way to PS1 games. I'm starting with the PS2 first, because it's still alive, and people can still readily find it's games in all the stores.
I will eventually move on to other systems, but in due time.
I stand corrected.Just because I performed in quite excellent ways in Wii Sport's Golf, Boxing, and Bowling, doesn't mean that I'll succeed at a Wii remake of Mad Maestro.

Cool thing about this game, if you do well enough in the beginning about half way you do a different piece.

buttons are pressure sensitive, blue means the lighest press, green is just pressing it, and red is pressing it hard.

how do the controls work? it looks really fun since it was made by the same people who made mr mosquito

hmm so its sensitivity...
kind of reminds me of how in strider 2 (the good one) how the sword will go as fast as many times you hit the button

in a sense it was like quitar hero for it's time, but because classical music is so popular in America, it sold well....lol

This game was harder than it looks. I purposefully reset the blue pressure boundary a little higher because that light touch is easy to mess up.

teh2Dgamer, can you please make an "Underrated Gem" video of a game called "Technic Beat" for the PS2...please?
