  • I loved this game. I should do a playthrough of it sometime. I got past the main concert and all and sorta left it for awhile after playing a few of the mini games you ear throughout the second play of it. It is one of the few games that was inexpensive and was worth it. :)

  • I used to have this game. It sucked.

  • Cool thing about this game, if you do well enough in the beginning about half way you do a different piece.

  • My favorite part of the game is the total randomness. His thought process was something along the lines of "Let's go perform advanced classical pieces at random" and everyone else is like "HELL YEAH".

  • I can see why a lot of people wouldn't be fond of this game - you know, because it's not action and lacks in blood/dead people - but I personally enjoyed it a lot; i'd recommend it for anyone who's a fan of rhythm games.

Actually completed the final concert too, being the sad fucker I truly was. Nothing special at the end, for those who never bothered with the final concert, Symphony just gives a speech on how she didn't think you were capable.

My response: Thanks for having faith in me, bitch.

  • @CerebralWry I never finished it. I blame Flight of the Valkyries.

  • @enchanter1313 that song gave a bunch of trouble after i was able to get the hang of the game. For a while i couldn't even beat the first song because i couldn't get the pressure sensitive button part down

  • The one problem I had with this game was, my eyes hurt from playing it after just a short time.

  • BEST PS2 GAME EVER!!!!!

  • Bought it. It's extremely difficult, but it's awesome in child mode!

  • it looks like a N64 game

  • i used to play this game when i was a kid, bought it randomly. But never played it caused iit seemed so confusing for me

  • I just purchased this game on Ebay & I must say that with your video I am sure my kids will love it! Thank You for sharing these videos!

  • i love this game and gitaroo man

  • I had only tried the demo forever ago and had 2 songs to play from.

Even still, i knew that this was a great game. Dont have the ps2 anymore, but if/when i get a PS3 i am definitely getting this game. What is it, $2 now? not bad for a good original music game.

  • imo,

    Gitaroo Man >>>>>> this

  • @megablueblaster Been meaning to get Guitaroo Man for years. I'll get it eventually though.

  • @teh2Dgamer guitaroo man is the best music game ever it pwns guitar hero in every way

  • @teh2Dgamer it's the best rythm game i've ever played [gitaroo man] the soundtrack is great the controls are easy to pick up but hard to master sort of thing.

  • i have this game!!!!! best game ever!!!

  • Look in the dictionary frequently, sorry to bring you down like Natsumi brings down Keroro but everyone knows what it means

  • Gem means: 1) A crystal 2) Something that's valuable ( can be used metaphorically )

  • what does 'gem' mean?

  • this game is the best game EVA i have like one more i guess you'd call it a level to pass then ill have ALL of the songs! =D BUT i am way too lazy to do that last level and ma heart is already content with the songs that i have!

ps: the trumpeter (Bob) is soooo cute and no i didn't make up his name! i have a list of All the characters and you can PM me if you want it! =D

  • guitar hero ain't got nuthin on this game

  • This game was Hard!!!

  • i just got this game from gamestop for 2$ what a steal

  • buttons are pressure sensitive, blue means the lighest press, green is just pressing it, and red is pressing it hard.

  • how do the controls work? it looks really fun since it was made by the same people who made mr mosquito

  • It's hard to explain, but part of it has to do with how hard you press the button, because the Dualshock 2 face buttons are all pressure sensitive. The color of the dot on-screen tells you how hard you have to press the button.

  • hmm so its sensitivity...

kind of reminds me of how in strider 2 (the good one) how the sword will go as fast as many times you hit the button

  • that's unique

  • @teh2Dgamer Oh...I thought it was a baton where you need to buy or something lol thanks for clearing that up!

  • @CamsEyeView You push the x button when the dot gets in the middle of the circle The colr of the circle determines how hard you presh the button button that have stars on them you hold the button down for a few seconds then let go

  • I have this game. It is actually quite tough.

  • I've actually had this game. Well I actually borrowed it. It was fun.

  • This is one of my favourite games. Not only is it addicting, but I'm a big fan of classical music. C: I randomly picked it up one day a few years ago, and I got hooked. I abandoned it for a while after I thought I had beaten it, and made the stupid decision of trading it in for 3 dollars at EB Games..... After some time, I missed it, and I bought it back! Now i'm working through Concert Play! More people should play this game!

  • yah i agree! we should all play Mad Maestro! Luv that game! XD so addicting. . .

  • @usagismile People don't give this game enough credit. It's a tough little game. >_<" I got it from a pal at school who got it from someone else because they were color blind. :c I wish they made this game playable to people who are color blind.

  • duh, forgot to mention it was also your vid that pushed me to buy it, since i was able to see gameplay. thanks ::)

  • i picked this up for TWO bucks at gamestop on petedorr's recommendation...... WELL worth it!

  • I love this game!! Get Ride of the Valkyries from the Alien level. I have to show my dad this section of it!!! Please please PLEASE upload that!!

  • they need to remake this for the Wii

  • i compleatly agree

  • Then it would be easier.

  • It would definitely not be easier. If the Wii required you to conduct actual beat patterns, forgetting the dynamics, that alone would be harder. Anyone who's in the music profession could tell you the same

  • well i mean an UPDATED version would be better but not specifically for the Wii

  • Well, I would prefer the Wii since that's the only console I own right now, lol. But I also think it would be best on the wii because I'm still waiting for an actual music game that requires you to conduct

  • yah that would be cool but still they should make a little easier (or harder XD) it could be called Mad Maestro 2: Revival of Bravo Town! what do you think?

  • I think that's a pretty cool name! :)

  • @LouisRandy yesh that would be! and

then they would break down the character for us!

  • when i played child mode on this at night, the songs put me to sleep, so i eventually failed.

  • Well if you buy a game in hopes that it will be just like another game, of course you're going to be disappointed. Play it for what it is, and not what it's not.

BTW, if you want a Parappa style game on the PS2, there's always Parappa 2, and Space Channel Five Special Edition.

Mad Maestro isn't trying to be Parappa.

  • I KIND OF SERIOUSLY NEED THIS GAME.

  • Madness

  • You have good taste in games I bought this game a long time ago for 8 bucks new at toys r us a long with oni. I was pretty bad at this game at first then I got the hang of it

I'm fan of classical music so that was the reason I bought now i just wish i have my Ps2 and this game so i can relive this true gem

  • in a sense it was like quitar hero for it's time, but because classical music is so popular in America, it sold well....lol

  • This game was harder than it looks. I purposefully reset the blue pressure boundary a little higher because that light touch is easy to mess up.

  • teh2Dgamer, can you please make an "Underrated Gem" video of a game called "Technic Beat" for the PS2...please?

    That game is great!

  • Sorry, I don't have that game, but I'll look into it.

  • Thank You. ^^ I'm also looking into that game.

  • You know this might make decent Wii game...though the Wiimote accuracy is mostly poor :-/.

Thanks for the vid of this oldie/goodie.

  • I'm sure it's a great game just not my style of game, hey could you make a "Underrated Gem" video over a game called "Shadow Madness" for psx?

  • I'll eventually work my way to PS1 games. I'm starting with the PS2 first, because it's still alive, and people can still readily find it's games in all the stores.

I will eventually move on to other systems, but in due time.

  • I stand corrected.Just because I performed in quite excellent ways in Wii Sport's Golf, Boxing, and Bowling, doesn't mean that I'll succeed at a Wii remake of Mad Maestro.

  • yeah im the first reply and view

  • Aside from me that is.

  • The guy at the beginning kinda looks a little like Conan O'Brien.
