Even if we accept Jesus (AS) was put on the cross, according to the Bible Jesus (AS) "died" within 6 hours. The average person however lasted three days on the cross. Did "God" not want to "suffer" even up to the average amount? The Bible even goes on to say his "death" the same evening surprises Pilate (as the average person lasted 3 days on the cross). I see that as a clue in the Bible that Jesus (AS) was miraculously lifted to Heaven while alive.

@juslkn Hmm that actually is a pretty interesting thought, but I'm not sure about the three day average. How long it took someone to die up there could depend from case to case. They tested the length of time that someone was up during crucifixion, and he was out in 45 minutes and figured he would have been dead in a few hours. Also you have to remember we believe he was beaten severely on top of that so that could have sped up the process. But I agree, your explanation is certainly plausible.
