@k2sty1 Basically, but a little more sophisticated than that! It uses the accelerometer/gyro to detect your driving behaviour and understand when (and how) you change gears so it can make a realistic turbo backoff or BOV noise accordingly.

@KuostA iBoost is a fun app for 1.99, however perhaps sometime we will think about making an app that connects to your ECU/AFC to show your real boost :) the rate at which it builds boost compared ot your acceleration is adjustable

@atreyu924 sure can, a blow-off-valve releases excess pressure when you close the throttle of your car, iBoost works by detecting how you are accelerating/deccelerating and simulating this. Auto or Manual makes no difference, however because some auto transmissions can be very smooth changing gears it can be harder for iPhone to detect in some cases
