Then, she came to Dark Woods Circus. ~!Spoiler if you haven't heard the rest!~ Then she was treated so badly, that she killed her friends and accidently killed her lover, and commited suicide because of it. She is then sent to hell. Then, she becomes a reaper.

This was actually based on real events. During the edo period in japan, children would be taken to circuses and deformed, and if they disobeyed any orders, they would have acid poured on their faces. They would be a spectacle, and be laughed at. The ringmaster would even rape them in front of the audience, at times. The rotten fruit is the raping, and the flowers are the flesh and acid.

It was in Japan, in the Edo period, where everyone was poor, so sometimes families would sell their children to the circus. Or the people would kidnap the unaccompanied/street children. They would pour acid on them if they disobeyed. Yes, they were deformed, with their limbs cut off and such. The 2 dancers were probably also deformed. I think they have body parts attached to them. I agree with you of it being sad. :(

The circuses you see now are just a later version of freak shows its only recently that circuses have been about happiness and acrobats. Many people with birth defects or rare illnesses were apart of freak shows like the conjoined children you see in the video. People didn't want children that had defects so they gt rid of them.

Here is what is going on with the characters:

Rin and Len, as you can see, were sewn together to preform as siamese twins. Rin went crazy from the abuses of the circus and began to enjoy the "fun" of it. Len on the other hand still resisted and hated the circus and tried to comfort Miku. Miku had horse legs sewn on (o.O??). She also hated the circus and was very lonely. Kaito was raised to act like a wild animal and seems to have lost his sense of humanity and has gone insane like Rin.
