  • This was pretty good.

  • So many cut songs. I believe it's safe to say that Jafar would never have been a main antagonist if American Idol existed in their time :/

  • Disney should put this song in a new special edition one day like they did with The Morning Report in The Lion King.

  • okay, just saying the laugh was actually scary as all fuck.

  • The song makes Jafar sound too much like a Pussy

  • At least this is better than Humiliate (did I spell that right) the boy.

  • @GenieVillain26 Yes, you spelled that right.

  • Bwa ha ha! I now have the lamp! Wait, I need to sing about things that aren't relevant to what's happening now.

  • dat laugh.

  • ROTUND NINCUMPOOP!

  • What trickery is this D:? No trickery you no good nincompoop!!

  • This is better than Humiliate the Boy. I think this could have worked, but I think the problem is that we are just getting introduced to Jafar's motives at the same time as him gaining power. I think part of this song needed to be sung earlier in the movie for it to fit well.

  • Start at 1:35 and listen: does he or does he not say "b*tchy" ?

  • @CrimsonSunset218 no he said Big G

  • Well I guess this explains why he didn't get his own villain song in the film.

  • Genie looks SOooo bored (not afraid :P) granting Jafar's 2nd wish

Jafar: I wish to be the most powerful Sorcerer in the world

Genie: *yawn* ok here ya go.....*Zzzzz

  • It's good but I love how fast Jafar sings all of this in the reprise!

...His personality flaws give me adequate cause *gasp* tosendhimflyingonaonewaytrip- hisprospectstakenaterminaldip-hisassectsfrozen-thevenuechosenistheendoftheearth-Whoopie! So Long Ex-Prince Ali!!! XD

  • The fact that Jafar is an over all around bad-ass, why make him a lame cartoon villain that brags about themselves, BOO

  • I like the Prince Ali Reprise more, too

but I would've liked to see Jafar pushing Genie around some more like in this version XD

  • "Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!! I have the lamp now! Oh, wait, let me sing about stuff that isn't relevant."

  • I think no matter what songs there are, Jafar is always seen as a whiny bitch. The fact that this song could have been included would not have really changed that image. I say it should have definitely been in the movie, it's fucking awesome! And gives a dark view of jafar's past that we didnt know about.

  • belongs in the broadway version

  • Actually, cut what I said about Iago and Jafar. I was thinking of a different version

  • I was sent by Mike Mozart

  • i like the allusion to "The Tragedie Of Hamlet, Prince Of Denmarke" by William Shakespeare with Jafar looking intently at a skull ("Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio..."; Act V, Scene I).

  • a bit too dark for a Disney movie, so good thing it was cut, but nice to see what was considered. i'm enormously satisfied with the final cut, though.

  • @BibleJoker2Face Never did I really get that this was dark for a Disney movie. Some of their best films trump this is terms of how dark they are. Remember Pinnocchio?

But that last drawing of him laughing is creepy. Doesnt mean it'd be that way animated, but....*shudders*

  • @ajmrowland, yea, that scene of Lampwick turning into a donkey scared the living daylights out of me when i was a kid. but Disney always makes great movies.

  • Jesus fuck, that laugh is haunting. Also, I like the character development in this one more, tbph.

  • ROTUND NINCOMPOOP!

  • I hear this song and I totally think that Jafar sounds like an emo kid with jealously problems, then goes all sociopathic killer

  • Ya Gotta Love Iago For Just Enjoying Himself The Whole Song XD

  • Hamlet symbolism FTW.

  • this song gives him more character development . It's got great quality as a song to use in say an Aladdin musical. It's too bad that they cut it. In the beginning of the song you actually kinda feel sad for Jafar.

  • Prince Ali is better. A Villain Song should be about how awesome villain is, not the other way around.

  • Do u know wheere i can the song.

  • @cardcaptor15 disney actually put it on a cd about 11+ years ago as part of a 4 disk set of a whole ton of songs that got taken out of a bunch of movies. The 4 disk set is about as rare as Madonna album signed by Ronald Ragan. :)

  • @rightlydivide tht sucks. Still the best deleted song ever.

  • @cardcaptor15 I found that CD with this song on it, along with a bunch of OTHER songs that not put in the movie if you are interested. email me. matt at drawafish dotttt com

  • @rightlydivide thnks but friend gave me a copy of the song. thnks tho

  • That song would have taken out a lot of the ending of the movie

  • Oh dude, that should've been a better villain song than that Prince Ali reprise.

  • sheds some light on their original idea of Jafar. still glad they cut it for the reprise, but good nevertheless

  • You gotta love the way he says "StreetRAT!!"

  • can you send it to me too? :D

  • some people think he means "Why does it happen to me?" When he means "Why it's Me?".

  • ...nah i don't like this song at all. There's no beat or catchy-ness to the song (which is very UNlike Alan Menken) I prefer the reprise version because it just gives that sense or irony. "Prince Ali" is such a happy fun exciting song about how great Aladdin is (in a good way) but when Jafar sings it, he gives a more evil twist to the song and talks about how Aladdin is not what he was described in the original Prince Ali song.

  • This would've made Aladin a bit more funny. :D I love how happy it is but he's being horrible and evil.

  • This would've made Alladin a bit more funny. :D I love how happy it is but he's being horrible and evil.

  • Man, Jafar sure liked prancing a lot back in the old days.

  • I think "Humiliate The Boy" is a better song, though it was written before the personality swap.

  • Comment removed

  • @ajmrowland what personality swap are you talkin bout

  • @Liisha2theMoon Actually; cut that. I was thinking of another version of the scene.

  • Nah...you're not supposed to sympathize with Jafar, I'm glad it was deleted.

  • this song fits for one reason: a nerd thirsting for power gains it

  • Can I get an MP3 of this? Please? Post a link.

  • Can I get this on MP3 pretty please?

  • Great song- we finally get to see Jafar abandon his cool and calculating image to reveal what he really is- a whiny wimp of a man who's still a child from probably being stood on for so many years. Much more than what we're given in the movie, but the return of Jafar does make up for this in its own ways (anybody ever notice how much more childlike and playful he is in that movie, even as a big evil genie?)

  • @Crashortsofevil That's what i got from this song, too. It's not supposed to make us feel SORRY for him - it's supposed to reveal how self-absorbed and selfish he really is, how he complains so much about how miserable his life has been, so he takes it out on everyone else. And actually, it makes him a perfect foil to

Aladdin - though both wished to rise above their status in life, Aladdin was never cruel even when he was dishonest, whereas Jafar just LOVES having power over others.

  • @Crashortsofevil Yeah......the filmmakers changed him into the cool and calculating man in the movie. Much more threatening than giving him the same attitude problem as Iago.

  • i don't like it. I prefer Second Rate to this even.

  • If I were in charge of Aladdin back in 1991, i'd Keep this song.

  • @Tartubeman there's an intro. on the DVD. IDK, but I dont think they'd have bcut the song if they were able to keep it.

  • I must say this animatic is more entertaining than the fina scene in the movie.

Not only is it a bigger scene(since it's a song) but it also gives us a taste of what Jafar feels inside. he's more than just the greedily vazier that wants More power than he already has,

he actually feels repressed and restrained and feels he deserves more in life.

I think this was cut just because of that, it makes Jafar seem even a Hint of sympathy worthy, which i guess they didn't want.

  • Ahhh, I know that I'm in love with this song so much, because I always randomly say "WHY MEEEEE" all the time ever since I heard this! XD I wish I could get this on MP3, but I can't seem to find it anywhere! D:

Can anybody send me the link to the MP3 download? :< It's so awesome! D:

  • Well this is a rough graph story concept.

Not the Scar of melevolent dictators who also sing.

  • Odd how the character designs of Aladdin and Jasmine were more aesthetically pleasing in storyboard form.

Prince Ali is quicker and to the point, but this is great too!

  • The Prince Ali reprise works way better. Like Shokumi said, its way better without all the babbling. And I don't think I can take so much Genie abuse :(

  • Prince Ali Reprise

  • Wow... this makes Jafar so much less scarier. I definitely like the one they chose better.

  • This storyboard is look like prince ali reprise

  • I love the music.

  • It's a good song, but the Prince Ali Reprise works so much better, especially since Jafar just sticks to the point and doesn't brabble about a million things beforehand. Too much singing can ruin it as well.

  • @Shokukumi i agree..

  • @Shokukumi

yes, Beside in that version he taunt and tease Aladdin with his own song he used when he thought all was great. his version kinda says : Guess you are not so lucky you thought you was littel boy!

  • 3:12 holy shit lol

  • @bleedorange2332 yeah, that was much scarier than that part in the movie.

  • This is actually really good.

  • Yeah they should of combined the two..

  • i kind of like the reprise better because it is more evil and dark but i like both..i just with the reprise was a little longer...

  • wish the reprise was a little longer* i can't spell today *facepalm*

  • I'm not sure if I like this better than Prince Ali Reprise or not. Maybe if they combined the two somehow?

  • This is SUCH an awesome song... I like it better than the Prince Ali reprise...

  • Prince Ali is better I find, though this song has potential, it's quite fun. x)

  • 1:36-1:40 Bitchy and me????

  • Big G and me I think, referring to Genie

  • I think he's saying Big G and me. Meaning Big Genie

  • @KocaKoala I totally agree with you. It would been so much cooler. But oh well, I still love the movie Aladdin.

  • That song is not evil enough...the reprise of Prince Ali that Jafar sang is better...

  • Jafar was off key and tempo

  • Why did this song have to get deleted? This is better than the reprise of Prince Ali.

  • Umm, no it's not, a) the reprise is better composed, and b) it just makes Jafar horribly pathetic, as if magalomania, not being happy in your current position, and thinking you could do better wasn't enough reason to do what he did. There is also a such thing as evil for the sake of evil, that's what most good slasher villains are.

  • Just something; didn't Jasmine already know that aladdin was the boy from the marketplace?

I thought that was established after 'A whole new world'

  • But she didn't know that he wasn't rich when that scene happened.

  • well this is the original story events !

  • rub-a-dub-dub! lulz

  • this is cool but the prince ali reprise was just terrifying this is more. this is more of insanity. both good.

  • Not to mention Jafar seems like the type who would like a bit of irony when he's at his high point.

  • Trust me my good friend, everything Jonathan Freeman touches turns to solid gold. This is a proven, scientific fact. XD

  • Damn, how many songs were they planning on giving Jafar? Was the movie even called Aladdin anymore. XD

  • Well, the villian's songs are ALWAYS better. XD

  • Unless they're a Freudian Excuse like this :D

  • He's a very good singer, they wanted to take advantage of that.

  • Wow! I really wish they would have done this instead of the Prince Ali reprise. Not only does it give Jafar a bit more motivation for his actions but it also keeps that great evil laugh he has in the reprise.

  • Personally, I like this and the Prince Ali reprise equally, but I'm happier that the Prince Ali reprise was used, since the irony of using the very song that made everyone in Aghrabah love Aladdin to expose him for the peasant he really is is such an over-the-top evil that you KNOW Jafar gets a boner from it.

  • What more motivation do you need other then megalomania and thinking you could do better? There IS a such thing as evil for the sake of evil. This just makes Jafar horrible pathetic not sympathetic.

  • Evil for the sake of evil?

Can you give any examples of that from the 'real' world?

  • If I did research I am sure I'd find not ALL high criminals have tragic pasts. Some people do infact like making others look stupid, just to be a jerk. Some people do torture because they enjoy the torture. Sociology, psychology, anthropology is not concrete and definite explaining everything.

  • When we find out their reasoning in real life, and everyone in the room thinks it's stupid and pathetic. Adolf Hitler had an ok childhood, his mom died and the doctor was jewish. He was upset that his art career never went anywhere. The only thing about Hitler is that in his twisted mind, he honestly thought what he was doing was right. And no one EVER has killed or do some other criminal activity simply to get further ahead? Heck, our politicians help kill many people for brib money!

  • If you're evil I assume that you have to know the difference between right and wrong. Otherwise you can't be evil - but simply misguided.

And you have to deliberately take the steps that does not follow your morale.

I'd assume that not following your own morale once doesn't make you evil - as everyone has done that.

You'd have to make a pattern of not following your own morale. The problem is that your moale will be moving then.

I don't believe that "evil" or "good" for that matter exists.

  • So you ignore the fact that there is wrong in the world and ignore the fact that people will do all sorts of wrong and evil things to try and get ahead? I mean, Jafar's running under the same ambition as freaking McBeth!

  • I don't ignore anything.

And don't talk to me like I'm stupid.

I'm saying I don't believe that there are "good" and "evil" like so many people believe.

Jafar is one of the more unbelievable disney villains IMO.

Frollo, Ratcliffe - even Scar - they're very believable.

I believe that every action has a logical origin - and that outrules "evil".

If you can come with some straight up examples - then fine. I'll take it. But I don't believe in evil just for the sake of evil.

  • @thedanishelf Jafar is much like a lot of historical figures back in the day. A lot of people greedily rose to power through lying and cheating, leaving a trail of blood and in their wake. Jafar's doing just that-only with less blood. while his past is obscure, to know that he wants the power and wouldnt be a good ruler at all is enough to villify him. Maleficent's another story.

you dont need to look far for an example of *that*.

  • Transformers 2.

  • this wouldve been epic!!!!

  • Jafar: No treachery you nincompoop!

  • (abu turns his head)

    aladdin: wha?

  • LOL, "Sing it, baby!"

  • the good news is jasmine was'nt upset about aladdin lying to her she would have setelled for a street rat

  • that was the first song Alan Menken wrote with Tim Rice so he was still getting over losing Howard Ashman by the way I think rajah looks so much cuter in that kitten form

  • Did he just say Bitchy?

  • I thought he said that too, but it turns out he says 'Big G' as in Genie. I was laughing so hard.

  • no.

  • Anyone know what a wretchel is? Check 1:44.

  • HE said Wretches and it's pretty much a insult to anyone lower to you

  • im gonna try and mix the animated clips with this song, just to see what it would come out like

  • That would be awesome!

  • if think this is actually an awesome song...

but you could tell some of the lyrics actually made it into the Prince Ali (Reprise) that he sings

  • Jonathan Freeman is simply the best!

  • Has anybody beside me imagined humiliating their enemies in this manner? Makes you wish your life was a musical really doesn't it. Then you'd be able to sing this without looking weird.

  • One question: Why was this AWESOME number axed?

  • they wanted it but cause of budgets, timeing and it did not fit in what they was doing they took it out or changed it.

  • um idd jafar cused hear it at 1:35 nad let it keep going

  • he said, "puts me up to fever PITCH" not bitch...

  • woah, intense laugh at the end

  • Were can i get this song on an MP3?

  • PM me with your e-mail and I'll send it over :)

  • Can you send it to me as well? imma PM my email.

  • I actually liked it. I seeing Jafar reveal his more human side. Although he's the villain it makes you kind of root for him. In a way it makes the heroes look like the villains.

  • Probably exactly why it was axed. This is Disney after all.

  • awesum. in my school play of aladdin, i play iago and i hav 2 sing that song but they cut it into 2 so theres one half at the middle of the play and one at the end.

  • Hey! I did the same play! And i was Iago too!!

  • well they kinda used it. not the song.

    XD

  • hmmm...another interesting attempt at giving Jafar a song. It would have been interesting for him to have a whole original song to himself (like in the movie he sang a Prince Ali repraise). But...These songs they came up with were too out of character. The ending of this one was good...they coulda kept that and expanded from there.

  • can sum1 post the lyrics

  • In my formative and hungry Years

I was unaprecciated by my peers

As their slings and arrows flew

    i Would ponder wouldnt you?

    WHy me? Why me?

For a man of my charisma and mystique

I have taken far to long to reach my peak

  • I'm glad that they deleted this song. It makes Jafar sound like a softie. I mean, I want a bad guy that's bad and not some sissy singing about the pity he has on himself. Yes, people have their insecurities, but I don't want to see the bad guy of the movie singing about it in some show tune song. I mean, I wouldn't have a problem with Jafar having a back story, but not with a song like this.

  • my very first thoughts on hearing the song. I mean, I loved to hear Freeman sing, and I like the tune, but I loved Jafar too much for him to wine about his crappy childhood.

  • @Nara2234

Think. WHEN has Jafar ever told the truth? He's probably faking it.

  • @CrossedCelt Hm, yeah, that DOES make sense.

  • This song should have been implemented in the film. It explains Jafar's past unlike the Prince Ali Reprise which gave Jafar only a short period in the spotlight. Anyway, does anyone have this version of the song with the dialogue in between?

  • "RUB-A-DUB-DUB!!!!" lol best line in the song!!

  • sounds so broadway

    i like it!

  • they totally should have kept this in the movie. They probably thought that it stalled the plot too much or something.

  • I like it but i like The Prince Ali Reprise better and this one doesnt really tell Jafars backround but the song itself is kinda catchy :-)

  • Was the guy who did the voice of Aladdin later star in "The Doodlebops"?

  • Suddenly, Jafar doesn't seem so shallow anymore.

  • wow this is awsome 2% better then the original

  • I just love the laugh at the end. :D

  • His evil laugh in the Prince Ali Reprise is better.

  • LMAO!! I love how he says all these things that rhyme with "you": two, toodle-oo, whos who; and then says MEEE!! totally out of rhyme! XD those lyricists were BRILLIANT

  • Yup, because Jafar IS brill! Wish they had kept the song in.

  • My friend sang this in aladdin JR. This play must be popular rofl

  • I was Jafar in Aladdin Jr. at my school, too, and greatly enjoyed doing this song. Really, I don't see why it was cut from the movie.

  • Are the lyrics any different?

  • oups je pense qu'ils ont bien fait de l'enlever, ça aurait été un peu lourd...

  • "But here's the rub! RUB A DUB DUB!!!"

    LOL

  • I sang this in aladdin JR.

  • Reminds me of "Was I Wazir? I Was!" from Kismet. Only, like, twice as psychotic.
