I have been and still am a huge fan if Def Leppard, and they keep getting better and better. Anyone who says they aren't good, doesn't know good music when they hear it.

I'll bet he's glad he's not part of One of the Greatest Bands to ever Rock Stadiums in the 80's , 90's and 00's. Besides , Pete Willis wasn't even on Pyromania it was Phil Collen. Willis barely got through the recording of High-n-Dry surprised they didn't fire him then, album would have been better for sure. Just too bad Clark drowned himself in Drugs and Booze.

I agree with with you about Clark though after he was gone the band went totally down the drain. Pete Willis and Steve Clark were Def Leppard. Too bad Joe Elliot decided he wanted to gear the band to the Bubblegum loving, Soccer Mom crowd and not the people who enjoyed the hard rockin band that was there for the first 3 albums and completely disappeared after Hysteria.

Every time I hear this song, or watch this video, it reminds me of my "ex" best friend, who had told me the same thing and then two years ago, 2009, he through a twenty-year friendship away. I love this song. This album was pretty good. A great band who definitely deserve to be around after 30 years. I don't get why they never really played this song after the tour ended. The only one they really still play off that album is Promises. But that's why I like YouTube so much... :)

What's this? I prefer 80's Leppard when they used to rock! I like a good ballad, but to me Def Leppard was ahard rocking band. Love High & Dry, and Pyromania. Def has gotten more mellow as they gotten older. I mean shit if i want to listen to a ballad, I play Journey, or God forgive Air Supply.
i respect the fact that leppard did not replace allen they waited for him to relearn 2 drum with 1 hand an feet. they could of replaced him but they didnt . that does show loyalty. they gave allen a reason 2 go on. an allen is still with them 2 this day.

@BigT188 Bad Actress in the same vein as High N Dry? Go sounds like the bass strings were not even tightened. I listened to it . I,m sure they will get a lot of requests for both of those songs on the next tour.Along with all the outher great songs that are off all the great albums they have recorded with Vivian.

And for your information, if you listen to the words of this song, it is a beautiful song of his undying devotion to the woman he loves. Joe Elliott has written some beautiful lyrics. Don't be confused by the so-called love songs and romance crap that is on the radio now. Def Leppard has still got it.

I have been watching and following them since 1981 i am 38 and been to where they live. they have inspired me through the toughest parts of my life and they have always been there for the good times and made them great ones. I love them.

I used to a big fan right till they changed their sound aroun94/95 ish. Hated the stuff they put out after that but gave them another shot with Sparkle Lounge. Imo it's a good album. Not as good as Hysteria or Adrenalize but still pretty good.
Hysteria in my opinion is one of the greatest albumns ever written. The Vault which holds alot of Pyromania and Hysteria tracks is a very good CD/albumn. Agreed though that the Sparkle Lounge.... sigh, it was good, but doesn't seem to have the heart behind it.

Well,i can say that because i saw leppard's birth,i'm 44..to me they're my preferite hard melodic rock ever but only 'til 1992, and it makes me sad to see how they're still around.Maybe the last albums i could have judge differently if i haven't known their past...
i don't like Slang too, and if i try to recall in my mind some chorus about the last 4 records i have difficulty, maybe Promises is a great song and few others,but i i will always love the leps but no Viv Campbell...Seventh Heaven from Chicago are similar to Def Leppard new style, for me they do better, listen to them...
to like an artist is to enjoy all of thier works, not compartmentalize them. It seems to me that it's old people who hold bands down, and back, by wanting them to put the same album out over and over and over. It's the same with Metallica. Compare SFTSL to On Through The Night. Even Joe Elliott acknowledges how bad that album is. Nigh and Dry was Mutt trying to make them into AC/DC, successfully. SFTSL is much more original. I'm 34 by the way.

I think OTTN was merely a badly produced album, I doubt the band has such a low opinion of it if it didn't cause them so much fallout when it was released 30 years ago. A remarkable effort to me considering they were basically a bunch of kids at the time. Incapable of making a bad album IMO, X is the one that I found lacking. Again, not bad, but they've done much better.

They dont jump on fads with cutting all their hair or dressing like all the 90,s bands did or getting a country singer in the studio. Hmmm, you seem to not be aware that Mutt was writing thier songs for them on Hysteria. Watch the Classic Albums series. As far as Songs From the Sparkel Lounge is concerned, it's the best album since Adrenalize--which Steve Clark was dead before they even started writing. I knew Tear It Down and Stand Up are exceptions. Get your facts straight before you start criticizing youth...lol

Again your are making guesses as to your facts. Steve Clark indeed wrote about 45 seconds of music on this album. He contributed various riffs to the album but did not participate in the official writing sessions and production on this album. he was dead. Some of his credits were given to him to make sure his family got some money after he died. Steve Clark did not write this album and it's very apparent by listening to it. jeez.
most of his credits on the album came from him saying "thats a great riff there" the band was so depressed by his passing that they mutually agreed even that was good enough for a writing credit tear it down and stand up yes are exceptions. so is part of white lightning(or so ive heard)

Good on them for still sounding exactly like this after all these years. Alot of bands lose it through time but still sell out at concert just because of their big names. And these guys are still rocking hard making sure we get every penny's worth out of our tickets! And that is a pretty hard sound to keep so beautiful!

Rocco have you heard any songs off of Leppard's new album? It contains 2 of the heaviest they've done , and one of those two is quite arguably the heaviest they've EVER done, it's a track called 'Go'. Another song called Bad Actress is vintage high n dry sounding leppard, the guitars are cranked up loud and raw with a furious paced beat and great dueling solo's by Phil and Vivian.
I strongly suggest you check it out, it's a really good album.

@BigT188 Bad Actress in the same vein as High N Dry? Go sounds like the bass strings were not even tightened. I listened to it . I,m sure they will get a lot of requests for both of those songs on the next tour.Along with all the outher great songs that are off all the great albums they have recorded with Vivian.

@banshierocks In case you haven't noticed, Pour Some Sugar On Me is also a love song. And for your information, if you listen to the words of this song, it is a beautiful song of his undying devotion to the woman he loves. Joe Elliott has written some beautiful lyrics. Don't be confused by the so-called love songs and romance crap that is on the radio now. Def Leppard has still got it.

I used to a big fan right till they changed their sound aroun94/95 ish. Hated the stuff they put out after that but gave them another shot with Sparkle Lounge. Imo it's a good album. Not as good as Hysteria or Adrenalize but still pretty good.

Hysteria in my opinion is one of the greatest albumns ever written. The Vault which holds alot of Pyromania and Hysteria tracks is a very good CD/albumn. Agreed though that the Sparkle Lounge.... sigh, it was good, but doesn't seem to have the heart behind it.

Well,i can say that because i saw leppard's birth,i'm 44..to me they're my preferite hard melodic rock ever but only 'til 1992, and it makes me sad to see how they're still around.Maybe the last albums i could have judge differently if i haven't known their past...

i don't like Slang too, and if i try to recall in my mind some chorus about the last 4 records i have difficulty, maybe Promises is a great song and few others,but i i will always love the leps but no Viv Campbell...Seventh Heaven from Chicago are similar to Def Leppard new style, for me they do better, listen to them...

to like an artist is to enjoy all of thier works, not compartmentalize them. It seems to me that it's old people who hold bands down, and back, by wanting them to put the same album out over and over and over. It's the same with Metallica. Compare SFTSL to On Through The Night. Even Joe Elliott acknowledges how bad that album is. Nigh and Dry was Mutt trying to make them into AC/DC, successfully. SFTSL is much more original. I'm 34 by the way.

@avidmoviefan well they opened for ac/dc so obv there was influence. i'd have to say high and dry & promania are the best origional works (not gratest hits) and on through the night (song) is pretty good but the rest of the album is ehh better than SFTSL - its too superficial they need the heart back

I think OTTN was merely a badly produced album, I doubt the band has such a low opinion of it if it didn't cause them so much fallout when it was released 30 years ago. A remarkable effort to me considering they were basically a bunch of kids at the time. Incapable of making a bad album IMO, X is the one that I found lacking. Again, not bad, but they've done much better.

@avidmoviefan It was their first album. They didnt know any better. AC/DC puts out rock albums period! They dont jump on fads with cutting all their hair or dressing like all the 90,s bands did or getting a country singer in the studio. Def Leppard really need to get Mutt Lang back into the studio on their next album. I have been waiting 19 fucking years for a old style rock album from them. I,m 49 by the way.

Hmmm, you seem to not be aware that Mutt was writing thier songs for them on Hysteria. Watch the Classic Albums series. As far as Songs From the Sparkel Lounge is concerned, it's the best album since Adrenalize--which Steve Clark was dead before they even started writing. I knew Tear It Down and Stand Up are exceptions. Get your facts straight before you start criticizing youth...lol

Again your are making guesses as to your facts. Steve Clark indeed wrote about 45 seconds of music on this album. He contributed various riffs to the album but did not participate in the official writing sessions and production on this album. he was dead. Some of his credits were given to him to make sure his family got some money after he died. Steve Clark did not write this album and it's very apparent by listening to it. jeez.

most of his credits on the album came from him saying "thats a great riff there" the band was so depressed by his passing that they mutually agreed even that was good enough for a writing credit tear it down and stand up yes are exceptions. so is part of white lightning(or so ive heard)

Good on them for still sounding exactly like this after all these years. Alot of bands lose it through time but still sell out at concert just because of their big names. And these guys are still rocking hard making sure we get every penny's worth out of our tickets! And that is a pretty hard sound to keep so beautiful!
