Bamboo swords are actually used to train swordsmaship, mainly katana swordsmanship. They are well made and last quite a long time

And stone can be as sharp as metal, and can cut through metal because it's more dense and heavier.

Why would someone use a bamboo or stone weapon against someone?

Why would someone use bronze or iron?

Beginners would use them, a duh~

I hope your idea gets put into game but even though I have 90 attack your rune katana should be 40 not 45 to wield because that's the rune requirement and the dragon should be 60 not 65 because dragon is a level 60 material in game. Everything els is fine.

umm.... have people forgotten about the eastern lands? The place where the "samurai" in port phasmatys comes from, and may I remind you people he sells bolt racks! The shurriken, katanas, etc. may just be saved for the massive update that brings in the eastern lands, which will probably come after jagex has finished the current parts of runescape (places like menaphos, and padawwa are missing).

Also i would like to point out that the concept of it being pretty much the strength of a 2hander but the speed of a skimiter is a great idea and u counterbalanced it with needing defense to use it because otherwise there would be a bunch of level 1 def noobs getting these to own PvP so this forces them to gain combat levels if they want to use them plus the idea of needing a good defense to protect yourself with it kinda makes the idea of katana using more realistic...just putting my opinion:}

OMG i quit rs so long ago because i gut bored of it but i use to be such a fiend for it anyway reason i quit because i love mmorpgs with katanas and shinobi but i'm not going to lie if RS had this i would most certainly go back. this and awesome samurai or assassin Armour that isn't just for looks but had pretty decent stats,like if they had a quest for wearing Japanese Armour and weaponry maybe even its own place in the world map like a shaolin monk temple/mansion with its own designated city.

I Loved this concept, 5/5 for a very VERY detailed explanation of everything too! A lot of people should appreciate those things more...you got all the stats for every weapon, the Prices! I think they would/should provide Katana's and a new extension to other lands, possibly with asian-culture, alike, or so. Japan, China, Korea they all have very fantasy and mystical backgrounds themselves, not just Medieval Europe.

At Port Phasmatys there is one NPC I notice who looks "Asian" he even has a Katana to sum it all up. He has an asian mustache kind of facial hair "Imperial" and/or "Waxed", like the one you see when changing hair in the barber shop.

You forget that the cost of new weapons skyrocket when released.

Take the Granite Mace, for example. it was basically Granite Maul, but weaker and 1h...yet the price shot to over 100K, and eventually balanced out due to people's opionons, Another example is the D Claw set. People especially go crazy over the non-quest Dragon items, because a lot of the consumers can barely weild dragon weapons and have money to spare. Anyway, the point is the prices will balance out soon enough.
