  • hello im 15 years old and for my birthday my parents gave me 2 lovebirds there 2 diffrents species but i hear i can still breed them but im just asking how can i make them used to human contact?

  • ماشاء الله

  • omg i got the same cage!!!

  • I love u guys. don't know why I said that though..

  • i just adopted 2 love birds ..one is around five years and the one is few months !! i cant even put my hand in their cage ...they freak out really easy :( ...HELP ME PLZ

  • 2 years!?!? Mine only took a few months! What training method did you use? (Yes, he were never handled before and was not hand-fed as a baby.)

  • plz tell how to stop a 3 months old baby love bird from nipping me. besides that he is fine, he perch on me finger, eats with my hand but the only problem is that he nips me

when he is on my shoulder he nips my ear, neck, and sometime my lip.

plz tell me how to stop him from nipping me???

  • @FEARfromGOD Well, if he is on your shoulder, he will naturally nip at your ears and neck and even hair. (Another thing to note is that you should never let the bird perch on your shoulder until the bird is FULLY tame and used to you, otherwise behavioral problems could develop. This may be attributing to your problem, so find out some information about this.) Another thing you can do is stop natural reactions to the bird nipping you. If you, every time he bites at your hand, move away, this

  • @FEARfromGOD will teach the bird that it can get your hand to do what it wants by nipping. So, when it bites you, don't move. Instead, look your bird in the eye and say very clearly, "NO." If the bird continues to bite, put it back in the cage and turn your back on it for, say, 10 minutes. Try again. Be patient. This will take some time, but the bird will understand that 1) nipping will not cause your hand to move away, and 2) nipping results in a -SMALL- chastisement (NEVER punish the bird).

  • i have 2 baby lovebirds...and they are about 6 weeks...would you suggest just letting them eat on their own and handfeed them? and aside from that, how can i teach them how to step up? i dont know how clicker training works...so help!!! lol

  • Please go to our blog. It explains everything.

  • I bought 3 days ago lovebird and he is afraid and scared, hot to tame it?

  • um i need help again...u remember me right? i was the one u ask u all those questions b4...remember wen i ask u how many days it took a lovebird egg to hatch?....and u said 23...wat if it takes longer cause its getting close to 30 days now...and the eggs are hatching...the female lovebird is still laying the egg though but still no baby bird.

  • How is it hatching with no baby bird?

    ~Rodney Money

  • well its been more than a month now and the eggs still wont hatch

  • @Navyseal925 then they are not fertile.

  • Hey! I have been a proud owner of a hand-raised peach faced lovebird named Chewey for about 4 months now, he/she is about 7 months old. He's very tame, and I fully believe he could learn to do this. But the problem is I haven't found a treat that I think he would love; I get my seed mix from a local bird shop and occasionally hand feed him NutriBerries, but I don't think he likes either enough to motivate him to fly.

What would you recommend for treats? Millet? Fruit? Sprouts?

    Thank you! =))

  • ow man, 2 years, now you are demotivating me :( I admire your patience, what a great owner you have to be. I recently have one lovebird, he steps up on my finger and eats from my hand if he's really hungry, but otherwise he 's so scared , really scared, do you recognise this behaviour ? Greetz from Belgium!

  • It should motivate you. 2 years is nothing, and when they are tame, you will not remember how they used to be.

  • It took my parrotlet who was also fully flighted only a few days to come to a ringing bell. His bell is his favourite toy, but once you do it too much they begin to loose interest so you have to make sure they like other things too. They are not only coming because you are a perch closest to the shaking container which is attracting them.

  • thats cool. when i move my birds im going to have to try that.

  • my bird has clipped feathers and he follows me around, should i treat him for doing so?

  • could you explain how you did it?

  • The seed treat. You need to find a bird's motivation.

  • hey can u give me some advice on how to start the training?

my lovebird won't come anywhere near food in my hand but eats it as soon as i put it down.

    should i just be patient?

  • We have an article on our website: trueloveaviarydotblogspotdotcom on getting birds to trust you.

    ~Rodney

  • Was Ashlee in the cage in the beginning?

  • that looks so easy but i know its not that easy to train them

  • hay is it possible to train it to fly out door

  • Birds of Prey love parrots and other birds.

  • Great work, and great vid! We find our budgie is not motivated by food at all, so we are left with: praise... It works, but is not as effective as food rewards and takes longer. Of course there is no problem getting the budgie into the cage, but with our finch, we have had to do some pretty consistent training and we still don't have it completely down pat... Your breeders respond extremely well: again, great work!

  • Aww haha. little fatty's. :D

Very awesome! I need to learn how you do that. O: <

  • wow you guys know what u r doing.

  • I didn't understand why it was such a big deal that your breeders are tame. That is, until my 2 lovebirds started mating and then I gave them a nest box. They are like Jekyll and Hyde! They have gotten very protective, and not so nice... I think if their eggs hatch and they have babies this will be the only time! I dont like them acting that way! So for anyone who thinks "whats so great about that?" Trust me, it is a huge deal that these breeders are so tame!

  • love it

  • You have the prettiest lovebirds. I always enjoy your videos.
