Actually, it has to do with demand- the cable companies rely to their customers to tell them what channels to have. If enough people write in, the company puts on the channel on.
@morpheous7 It think BBC is doing a great job actually. CNN is a piece of shit in UK and almost FOX in US, but I was very suprised by the quality of spanish version, after I moved to Spain. I guess it all depends on Zeitgeist. The actuall people that work for the channel. You can do jurnalism or you can do infotainment. Al Jazeera just atracted lot of quality people and empowered reporters, all over middle/east and Africa. I don[t need my news in HD, so fuck the cable operators.!

We have this channel in the UK but the cable operators don't let us see it. We can't even pay to see it.
They show us Faux News, CNN and BBC24 instead.
I thought we were the free ones.
