  • we r 3 guys and we finish a 35 sq job in a 7 day with cap and cleaning.. we dont need this stupid tool to just slow us down.. plus his nailing is just slowing him down if he just nails from right to left it is the same thing and he can finish faster.. its a good idea.. but its not gonna make you faster

  • yeah theirs a gauge on the gun, I've used it for years, looks like this THING just slows you down,.

  • Why dont u just use the gauge that comes on the nailgun from the factory? ya know the flat metal gauge on the bottom of ur gun that u probably think makes ur gun stand up ?? thats a shingle gauge dumbass

  • Where can I get 1

  • @mr1nutwonder Yes I do have brown eyes... They have been that way for quite some time. When I was in school there was this guy who had an unfortunate story about slipping in the bathtub. What is your story?????

  • @mr1nutwonder I wish I could lay 20sq in one day. I said there were three of us. It was a two plane roof with no flashing or valleys and we had no tabs to line up. I had two guys working for me. I set them up with a tool similar to the one shown on this site and I tried using one myself. I tried having a guy feed me shingles but that was wasting my time. We placed the cap and cleaned up the next day. I think the tool is unnecessary, but it works quite fine.

  • When I was 19 i would lay around 20 sqs a day believe it or not but that was a production line at Palm harbor I am 47 now and if I can do 9 sqs a day I consider it a good day 4/12 pitch became line foreman at 21

  • LOL at this stupid device. Takes one guy to shingle. Send that other guy home and get rid of that device . I have to admit you have a great nail pattern The gauge on the gun works good enough and you only need a feeder on a 9-10-11/12 pitch He looks like he is sucking up your money well atleast you get some shade whe his gut covers the sun.. 26 yrs baby

  • there is a gauge on the nail gun its self why in the heck would any body buy this

  • Why not use the slits on the top and side of the tab? Shingling couldn't possibly get any easier than it already is.

  • WOW!! A RECTANGLE BOARD. WHAT AN INVENTION!!

  • Hand nail in your demo then we could get a real example of your expierence.

  • LMAO one more thing to carry and hold on a roof. No thanks! Me, my gun and some nails and my trusty hook and I am good. And whats that other guy oh hell no have to carry him too. Doe he come with the kit cus I am not paying some one to stand and feed me shingles unless its a 10/10 pitch or something. Get out of my roofer coming through.....and the sun is comin out!!!

  • good tool for a beginner!!! but a pro would never buy some thing like that!

  • nice invention

  • We stripped and shingled a 20 square roof in a relaxed 8 hour day as we gave this idea an honest try. That was with only one roofer and two newbie’s. Yes, a skilled roofer can work just as fast without this gimmick, but it does help to speed up less skilled roofers and keep them straight!

  • @notch199y : 20 squares with one roofer, your so full of $hit, yours eyes are brown.

  • Hey I tried this idea and I think it works great! It also works well with only one roofer using the tool. I am not sure that I would make this a regular procedure for installing shingles, but it certainly can help many installers. We snapped a line every 10 rows and we were off by less than ¼ inch every time. This tool allows you to adjust your line if you notice a small problem. It produces very straight rows.

  • shouldn't he be nailing from left to right instead of jumping back and forth ? his method looks very tiring ...

  • 30 years of constrution under my belt...looks like a great tool...but not a speed gainer

  • You shouldn't rely on the course below it to keep a roofline straight. I haven't roofed as a pro in years, but I always used to snap chalk lines every ten inches and use them as a guide for every other row of shingles. Made for a very straight roof. Or you could make sure that the felt paper was straight and use the lines on it for keeping the shingles straight. This looks like a dumb idea. That's probably why no one uses it or anything like it to put shingles on. Sorry.

  • "You nor the installer on the video have any knowlede of roofing" ? What a stupid thing to say. that just shows your intelligence. It is very low. I use common sense, not the stupid yankee book leaning. You're an idiot. You nail below the glue line, and don't lock both shingles together and see how well it holds up in strong winds. Buzz off, you're retarded.

  • Great idea!!!!!... Ok. But try sliding them into place when its 80 + degrees outside...

  • @fattymcfatfatism yeah that's right, plus try bending over like that all day, don't think I could handle that.

  • are you serious lol!

  • That was my exact first reaction.

I thought this was a joke.

    LOL

If anything, it looks like it slows production down and if "one" shingle is installed crooked, it's going to continue to be installed crooked going up the course to the ridge and throw the whole roof "off" alignment. There's no room for adjustment at all.

  • thats bullshit

  • thats funny anyway. those are the cheapest shingles you can buy. bet they called you back for a new roof. and you just put it on about a year ago. Thought Owens Corning went out of business years ago. next time try to sell em on LandMarks. definitely worth the extra $25/sq. help put those OCs back in the insulation business where they belong... pink doesn't belong On the roof. only under it!!!!

  • With all the respect , you and you stupid tool suck, I can do the same thing if a fraction of the time and without using tools for idiots, that's why the call us ROOFERS !!

  • @vodoosand2010 i agree!! and it takes 2 guys to do a one man job.

  • dont your adjustable guides on the bottom of the roofing nailer do the exact same thing haha

  • how straight does it keep em cause not all shingles are the same size?

  • why are you nailing above and on the adhesive line. That's a no, no. Manufactures recommend nailing beneathe the adhesive line and on top of the slit and in high wind 6 nails with 2 nails one on each side of the slit.

  • @brokenarrow2222

He was nailing on the tar line. That's correct. It locks both shingles together, and is in the sealer of the shingle, lowering the possibility of a leak. If you're going to nail beneath the adhesive, you'd need to seal each nail. AND, no his tool doesn't speed up the process, it is just a different way of doing it. I built one from 1/4" plywood, and it works very well, and was actually a pleasure using a different method of installation. Good idea !!

  • @OK55OK55OK With all due respect, I have reseached the installation guidedlines for Tamko, GAFor Elk, Certainteed, and Owens Corning and all the guideline state the same instructions that I have mentioned above. You nor the the installer on the video have any knowledge of roofing. You might know how to install a nail but that's as far as your roofing knowlede extends. You need to read the manufacture's instructions to be a knowledgeable roofer.

  • @OK55OK55OK i hate to say it bro, but u ARE suppose to nail right above the key. and its to prevent wind ripping the tabs off. dont get me wrong man, i nail in the tar line too, that way u have some room for play

  • where can I get one?

  • Cool, thanks for posting!
