Yep, there is a place for speed, and in a 40mph zone is not that place. I have always considered the Repsol CBR1000RR on the top of my list for "Most Beautiful Sportbike". Also, the CBR1000RR is a super reliable bike that actually does everything right. I would definitely invest into a fender eliminator though.

They are two totally different bikes.  The Ducati is a v-twin. The Honda is an inline four cylinder. The Ducati makes less maximum horsepower but more maximum torque. The Ducati is a slower bike, but it is lighter than the Honda. The power is more accessible earlier in the rev range on the Ducati, meaning you don't have to rev the bike as high to receive its maximum power and torque. Both bikes are serious about performance.

Uh do you want an opinion or a mathematical analysis lol. Ducati is faster around the track because more power and torque are produced earlier in the rev range. Used to be that V-twins lost out the I4's in straight aways but now that the 1098 has the extra cc, they keep up. The 1098 is SLIGHTLY faster than the CBR, but if you take into consideration how much more it costs, well you do the math. but if $ isn't an issue for you, why not go with performance AND exclusivity? That's right, 1098

Fuck... My first bike was a 1000RR brand new, never rode a bike before, 3yrs. later no accidents, Just because you have 1000 cc's you don't have to use of them, you will only out grow a 600. They will all kill you the same... 250-1400 not to mention it pays to buy a 1000 it's a better value.
