I think muslims need to understand that the way we conduct Islam now is not how it has always been. There have been large shifts in philisophy and practice over the ages and the fact is that Tasawwuf has been around since the time of The Prophet (saas). We are a more literal, confined community but we were not always so. IF these people are not breaking the Quran, Hadith and Sunnah THEN NO ONE BUT GOD HAS THE RIGHT to say they are wrong. Other than that Muslims have a duty to accept one another.

Sufism is part of Islam & Alsunna. But today many claim to be sufis but they are far form it because ignorance and because perverted books falsely attributed to great Sufi leaders like our masters ar-Rifa3iy, Jaylaniy, Rumi and Ibn 3Arabiy. These were great pious 'waliya.

I suggest read properly about Shaykh Al-Hallaj, please do not blindly accused him of claiming something without any valid proof. Anyway he did not conciously claimed that he was ALLAAH or part of ALLAAH. The people of ALLAAH seeing things with their Qalb ( bashirah - maknawiyah not by hisiriyah) which ordinary people do not understand. So beware of yourself first before accusing the people of ALLAAH.
