But also take note , modern judo are more aggresive and uses more upper body strength as compared to the judo from Professor.Kano's era and hereafter.

Modern judokas even from the famous senseis , all if not , reiled heavily and entirely on strength , unlike those who studied it old school whereby the proper leverage and techniques reign supreme over pure brute strength.

Look at the some old school judo movies and examples of the earlier judo eras.

i think thats cause its got more emphasis on sport also its progressed a lot further then when it was first around and quality of judo has gotten really high since it was made an olympic sport

But brute strength only gets you so far in judo you still need technique skill stamina and timing to mention a few things and yes strength does have a large part in judo, but im tiny i mean seriously i dont have bulging muscles and rippling forarms but i can still throw people who have 30kilos on me

But I wasn't so lucky with another dude. The first round he lost to me and wasn't satisfied and wanted a rematch. The second round, before I could get closer he already started raining blows on me and I got whacked the hell outta me. Using Judo in real life situation isn't always about dashing straightaway into the fellow in front of you so you can start grappling. Sometimes you may have to do dodge here and there and before you go in close at the right opportunity.

yes it rocks. its very easy to close distance and hug an opponent than trying to keep distance from him.If judo is used correctly its overpowered. Just hearn to protect your head and go for legs or for a bear hug.if the other guy dosnt have a clue about wrestling it would be a piece of cake. just go to the ground and make his understand that you are not joking.Even if the attacker is much bigger than you it works. some people believe that it works even better on bigger opponents cause of physics

I agree that Judo is great for close distance. I remember getting into a fight with a bigger guy, he was throwing punches at me but I quickly grabbed him and threw him off the ground and his leg hit a nearby lamp post. Haha. I continued to tackle him with grappling technics and in the end he had to resort to biting me on my forearm to free himself.

This is from my experience of using Judo during street fights. I can tell you this, 10 out of 10 people would never expect a grappling move. Everyone would always expect kicks and punches during a fight but if you're experienced and fast enough you can take down anyone with Judo by surprise easily. But using Judo is only good once or twice on the same person. Once the opponent knows your attacking style it's hard getting close to him for a throw.

I love watching different arts. this is very good. actually I think this is better for what most people consider effective on the street. see the reason this is effective is because it teaches you how to use techniques without that much of the idea of equilibrium.

for most aikido techniques however the attacker only can get hurt if he is applying all his energy and force to the attack.

love both styles.
